[Q] ARHD updates - HTC Sensation

Hi
I have been running ARHD 4.1.13 for about 6-8 weeks and seeing as o2 or HTC send out updates for stock ROMS I was wondering if nonstock ROMS had updates available?

Just to check, you'd like to know whether custom ROM's have been updated to new versions sent out by HTC or your provider?
If so, I don't think so.
Edit: I assumed you meant Gingerbread ROM's, otherwise Moon2 is right. There has been ICS ROM's released.

There have been many updates since then, the 6.4.0 series of ARHD is now based on leaked htc ice cream sandwich roms.

[Q] Thoughts: Stable rom before official update?

If you guys remember we got the sense 3 update leaked long before we expected it. I wonder if this will be the same for the ICS update. Anyone wonder if we will get a stable rom before the official release
It depends. We need people to leak the ruu

You won't get an official HTC OTA update on a rooted phone with a Custom ROM... and if somehow you do manage to get one while on a Sense ROM, DO NOT flash it... you'll end up in a bootloop.
As far as getting to use it, you'll get it on XDA much before people on stock ROMs (if history is anything to go by...). Hell, I think you might be running Sense 4 before HTC decides to give you Sense 3.6 officially.
Google search for details.

Yeah I think we will get 4.0 before 3.6!
I'm sure the RUU for the One V will be out before our RUU for ICS.
Can't wait

New to sensation XE

Moved from a Desire S to Sensation XE.
Now I am not a newbie when it comes to roms etc as I had ICS on my Desire and S-off etc etc.
Was wondering if its beneficial to s-off and install recovery etc?
Or is there an OTA ICS update?
Not switched on yet, still charging out of box.
o2 UK stock.
There is an ICS OTA but it's only for certain countries ATM. Seeing as you're on O2 they might take a little longer to release it with their customizations.
Rooting would be beneficial if you want ICS now IMO.

There's a plenty based on the official release that's rolling out to come countries in XE and non-XE flavours, you can flash either.
Ok, just to update.
Done the following...
1 s-off
2 installed recovery
3 rooted
4 super cid
Can i just go ahead and put roms on the root of sd card now and do same as with desire s ?
if you are planning to flash ICS based rom , you need to flash a proper firmware first

[Q] ICS &/or JB Radios

I see there's a new Gingerbread AT&T ROM released, with some discussion in other threads about the new radio that's included (26.17.14.11_m).
This got me wondering, have there been any Radios released specifically for ICS or JB? I'm under the assumption that the radios I've used were all written for GB. I'm currently on the ICS Redemption v1.2.7 ROM, with the Radio 26.14.04.28 and the combo works fine.
But I'm wondering, can new radios ONLY be released by the manufacturer when an Official ROM for a device is released? Or have any radios been ported over to the Inspire 4G, similar to the way ROMs have been ported?

Radios cannot be ported over. Only ROMs can be.

Best ROM for waiting the official OTA update?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a ROM for my HTC Desire which could receive the OTA update notification once HTC releases the new ICS official version.
Now I have it with superkid's Andromadus build.
What do you think? Should I restore the official 2.3.5 in order to receive the official OTA when released? Or may I use something better till this happens?
Thanks!!!
Fallout with sense 4.0 and Virtuous Sense 4.0 Full are the best ROMs you can use, as OTA has only sense 3.6
choice is your

For both ROMs - WiFi Theter only works with Adhoc
And: there will be no "OTA update notification" with this ROMs because they are newer (Sense4) than our update (only Sense 3.6)
But it's not clear IF we will get an OTA or a ruu - so flash Fallout if you do not need other than Adhoc-hotspot - and be happy.
You can also flash the leaked Sense3.6 to compare with the 4.0 (and than you will not longer wait for the official update but for the source code for the devs)

you don't want to deal with official OTA because it'll never work on a custom rom. and if it did it would brake your root. so forget about it! the same day that it'll be released you can go to xda forum and get yourself a rooted version of it or whichever customized version based on it your heart could imagine. so, don't panic!
Ok, ok, I understand your opinions, as are the same that mine BUT, I'm giving the phone to my cousin and believe me when I say that she won't be looking for updates at XDA when (if) HTC finally release the official OTA update..
And of course I don't want to be such a tech service for this phone forever, and custom ROMs are always improving new versions, etc.. but there is always a bug to deal with.
I have been using Fallout for the last month, best ROM right now for the Desire S, but without wifi tether.. I can't give her the phone with it.
I think I'll return the phone to stock ROM and if HTC finally give us an ICS update, I'll install the RUU and forget about more mods to the phone.
Thank you all!!
You can also get ice-ds 4.2 as that will be almost the same as the expected OTA.

4.0 (ruu) vs. GB 2.3.5

hey guys.
i decided to wait a few weeks to update to the Android 4.0 Update (ruu). currently im using Gingerbread 2.3.5 (not root, no customrom) and i think its ok.
you people who have installed the Android 4.0 Ruu Update, if you got another chance to update from 2.3.5 to the Ruu 4.0 , would u do it or not?
after some weeks of testing and exp. 4.0 , u think its better than gingerbread?
thanks

ICS is better than GB but it will be a bit slower. Try Reaper custom rom

I updated to the 4.0.4 ruu and I wasn't too impressed by sense 3.6. I have been trying to find ways to get back to gingerbread but I can't find any.
why not go directly to jellybean?

try this link below to downgrade from ics to gb

There isn't a huge amount of difference between the two os's but I found the new UI actually worse than before and a little bit slower. However you do get a bunch of new features like face unlock and more. It's a difficult one but I think ICS just about wins as it is a little nicer and more fun to use.
