[Q] Is there any way to monitor the information being sent from your skyrocket? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I am relatively new to this whole community; however I have looked and can't find anything like this.
Is there an app or a way to monitor what information is being sent from your smartphone? As kind of a reverse CIQ, so you can see what information apps and other things are collecting about you, and or taking it one step further and having the control to block that info from being sent?

You can look at the permissions asked by each application. If if you want to block the application, just uninstall it LOL.

Thanks for this. I guess where my confusion comes when you give something like a calendar app you download from the market permission to access you calendar information are you also giving that app permission to send collected information back to the apps dev?

Also information regarding Locations, Contacts etc etc....

The answer is: It depends. Depends on what infrastructure your company has in place to track your movements should they choose to. Even going through a proxy they could still sniff the traffic to your box if they so chose. I'd have your butt in a heartbeat as soon as that device lit up on the network.
I can tell you that where I work the mere act of putting that on your device and it's use with the intent of bypassing corporate restrictions would get you fired on the spot. Is it worth it?
Well I'm logging on to the customer lounge WiFi... guess the question would be could they tell its me and not a customer ...

Sorry, just woke up so it didn't process. If your incredible is not company provided, then no. They would just be able to tell you're on an incredible, and profile you based upon the sites you visited, if they wanted to go through the effort. But if it is from the company, IT should have its MAC.

Looking for an app...

I'm looking for an app that will check my IP address, log it, and search my past logs to see if that IP has been used previously. There may not be an app like this but sounds pretty easy to make. If anybody could do this I would be glad to pay and know of a group of people who would also be glad to pay for an app to do this.

Is Pandora safe to use now?

Because there was a news saying that this application is sending out private information from their users. Is the issue been resolved?

NFC/work badge

Is there an app that will allow you to program your work access badge to NFC?
Yes you probably could but I wouldn't be surprised if for security reasons it wouldn't work. If you want you can check out the thread below that talks about others trying to do the same thing.

Does anyone know,.?

Does anyone know how to make an application that will not allow Facebook to be installed? I might be interested in purchasing an application like this or making 1

If you don't want a particular app then don't install it. There's probably no way to block installation of a given app.

What he said. Is there a particular reason you want to block the installation of Facebook?

Though if you had a vendetta (and a rooted phone), you could always just put a Facebook catch-all into your hosts file to black-hole attempts to reach them. Wouldn't stop the app, would stop it from ever actually working and any website connecting there.
I think you would need to sign up for a MDM service. There a few of them out there and they should be able to either block apps from being installed or automatically uninstall it if it gets installed.

Haha sorry I was just kidding but also wondering. Yeah I know how to install apps or not. I was thinking of an app that you can download and then when you did want to download facebook it wouldn't let you. Its really just a joke brotherhood. I don't have a Facebook problem but I see one developing lol.

why would you need that?
