[Q] after flashing new rom, my internal memory disappear - T-Mobile LG G2x

my g2x internal memory which is 8gb
after flashing to new rom ( ics eagleblood ) only internal memory i could see is 1.48gb.
Anyone know where other space went?

Are you looking at the storage menu? If you scroll down it has another internal storage group, it's set to not use this internal storage by default
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk

Is there a way to set that as default and external secondary? Im without an external ATM
Sent from my overclocked LG G2x

Its a known bug for build1 in Eaglesbood (ICS) should be fixed once build2 comes out.
If you don't have an SD card then just use HFS or Selfkang3
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium

This is a very simple fix.. in the first couple of pages of eagles blood ics rom.. (probably where you got your rom downloaded from) you will see somebody discuss changing the vfolds.tab file or something like that. It will talk about the emmc and changing a single number in that file from a 9 to an 8. Once you make that change, you will reboot and....... TADA!!! You now have your sdcard reading again.
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk

I love the fact that there is no more internal storage
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App

Here is a step by step I learned from the previous post in the eaglesblood rom ICS thread..
1. Use root explorer or file explorer.. open system folder
2. Scroll down to "etc " folder and open...
3. Scroll down to "vold.fstab" file..
4. Long press on the file and select "open with" then select "text editor"
5. When that opens look at the bottom of the file.. you will see a 9. (It is the only 9 on the page...) change that 9 to an 8
6. Tap menu select save... back out and reboot the phone... the file should now tell your phone how to accurately and consistantly view the sdcard.
Let us know how it went.... (this set of Instructions is for ICS Roms... GB roms didn't have this problem as far as I know.
Credit for finding the fix goes to Mister Hat on page 7 of Eaglesblood ICS Rom thread.

try the second method
Ok i can't get either method to work. I've tried editing it myself and I used your zip.
Whats strange is, I scrubbed everything with the g2x scrubber AND i wiped everything manually. I still get this stupid issue with the SD card and also, a Background from my previous rom loads up all of a sudden????
I know a lot of people got this working and all but damn, this has to be the worst rom I've ever dealt with in terms of getting this to work.
I was working on this last night, DO NOT MESS WITH THIS STUFF IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING!!!! I wiped the internal partitions and it took me a good 4 hours to get my baby back!
It's gonna have to wait till a ROM dev adds the function back into cm 9. I was trying to change all of the necessary files myself, i figured that the file system was close enough to Linux for new to figure it out, like spare parts did in cm7.
but it ended up in a real nasty soft brick.
Seriously, messing with your vold.fstab can f up your recovery partition and make it so you can't get into recovery, and you can't reflash it because the partition tables aren't there.

[Q] Entropys' CM9 Not Recognizing External SD

Hey guys, I have looked all over and cant find an answer...
I am running the most current (4/23) version of the cm9 rom, but i cant get my infuse to "recognize/or/find" my external 32gb sd card... it finds my internal 16 gb no problem, i have also swapped it out for my 16gb card and its still a no-go...
what do i have to do / change to get it to show up? im needing to get to my music because my daily drives of 14+ hours are getting a bit tedious...
if you could in full detail tell me where the file to edit is and what needs to be changed it would be awesome!
thanks in advance and if this has been posted i apologize i must have missed seeing it...
also running 4/23 built and it reads mine no problems,, bad flash?
I'm thinking its possably something to do with a lib file as both clicking on external SD and internal SD both go to the internal SD... using astro file manager I can see both fine... but not when I use a stock app... *shrug* I also can't afford to try and reinstall it as I'm no where near home for the next 5 days either and if I screw up I'm without a phone...
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA
you can try flashing it over and see if that helps, this time use fix permission and it could also be a bad download, what i would do is re-download, go back to phone stock , and while you're there factory reset the phone( back up all your other data ) , flash kernels to get red cmw ( entropy DD ) and then flash latest cm9
I recently installed a 64gb. I had to go back to stock to get it recognized. Then when I reinstalled CM9, I found it under /mnt/emmc.

Go to the themes and apps forum - See Axiomkids mods and tweaks for this build. Go to number 5 in the OP. Although it says it won't recognize the external sd it does for my phone . I only have an 8 gb card, don't know if that makes a difference. Hope this helps. Edit- Here's the link. I used the1.1.4 version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389375
Thanks... phone can find it now... but music and video apps still don't "see" it..
Is there a "string" (?) command i can use in the terminal console to change where its looking...
seems to be finding the "external SD" folder but not the actual card...
Seems very odd to me cause both when i flashed back, googles' stock apps found it, and as well as the cm 7.2.0 release found the external sd card in the right spot.
Now flashing cm 9.0 (05/02/12) it finds the external sd folder on the internal sd, but still doesn't find the external sd...

thanks for that, i have just gone completely stock, then rooted, flashed cm7, now back to cm 9, and still nothing. yet cm7 and stock can find all the music n videos on my external sd fine with the native built-in music/video apps... once i install cm9 they don't "see" it or recognize it... tho when i go thru astro file manager i can see it just fine... *shrug*
Google Play Music did not find my songs despite following their instructions. Winamp & the music player did.
So did Album Art Grabber.

Did a clean install and wiped twice everything I could via cwm recovery... seems to be fine now - took me 3 hours to get back to a working stock... think my phone doesn't like the stock now after being on cm lol... anyways its working fine now... thanks to you guys on all your input... found it was a bad micro sd format when I formatted it (micro sd) from cm recovery the first time I installed cm9 on entropys first build... :banghead: shoulda thought of that earlier...

Picked up a g2x off craigslist.

So I picked up a LG g2x off craigslist for 80 bucks and I had to buy a new battery for it. I don't know much about the phone besides the fact that it has Ice cream sandwich and that I think it might be rooted. The previous owner has ROM manager on it, and so forth.
The phone allows me to text back and forth and the speakers work great EXCEPT when I try and make/receive calls, there is a loud clicking sound. I can't hear what the person is saying and they can't hear me.
I'm not very experienced with rooting and was reading that this might be part of the problem for the clicking noise? Could I just do a factory reset and maybe this would help? Any suggestions would be very helpful.
P.S. I'm not sure if this helps but the phone is running android version 4.0.4 and EBloodMod version build5-aosp.
Thank you.

What date does your baseband say? I.e. March 2012

I'd head over to the development threads. Search for new baseband fix, dL the zip, put on phone SD (preferably external SD), reboot phone while holding down power button and volume down button until u see a second LG logo, logo should have blues in it, than let go of buttons. This will bring you into CWM (recovery) select install zip from SD and depending on if u used a microsd card or the phones internal SD u need to navigate to the correct location, select the newbaseband.zip and select ok to flash. Select go back than reboot device. You should be fixed. I have same issue with nearly all Rom. This should fix ya up.

So according to that link you presented, I just save that zip to my computer, open it up and then what?
Which do I click on? META-INF or system folder? Where do I go from there?
I'm sorry I'm not very good at this haha. Is there anywhere I can find a step by step process? I just really need this phone to work as I am short on cash.

1. Download the .zip file to your SD card, the root of it, not in any folders or anything, just to the SD card.
2. Turn the phone off.
3. Hold power and volume down until you see the second LG logo(when you see the second lg logo, let go of the buttons), this will take you into ClockworkMod Recovery
4. From there, if the version says 5.0.2.0 you can use the volume buttons to scroll, and the power button to select an option. If the version says 5.8 then just use the screen to select options.
5. Go to install zip from sd card
6. Choose zip from sd card
7. Now find the new_baseband.zip by scrolling through the list, it should be at the bottom. Find it, click it.
8. Select yes-install
9. Go all the way back out, select reboot and calling should now work.

You can use any SD card, or the internal if you'd like. And you can just download it straight to your phone. Just go to the link on your phone and download it. If you have an SD card it'll download straight to the download/ folder on the sd card, so in clockworkmod you'd have to find the zip there. if you downloaded using no SD card, just select choose zip from internal rather then sd when it gives you the option.
For some reason when I click that link you supplied on my phone it says: An SD card is required to download new_baseband.zip and doesn't give me the option to use my internal SD.
Thanks for all your help so far.

Hmm, ok, there's two ways to doing this, drag and drop from your computer, or borrow an SD card. If you choose to do it from your computer, make sure you have the USB drivers, just Google lg g2x USB drivers and install them.

Choose USB storage on your phone, and then your phone should pop up on screen, it should say lg p999 or something, it'll have internel storage there, drag and drop the new_baseband.zip to your internal space.

So I'm not sure if your explaining this correctly but my phone is plugged into my computer and my phone says it is connected as a media device and the only other option is for it to be connected as a camera. AND there is no such thing as USB storage on my phone, I checked all the settings.
So I'm guessing you meant go to DEVICES on my laptop. Well I did that and I see my phone(LG-P999) under devices. So I clicked that link you shared earlier and saved the ZIP to my computer. Well the WINRAR popped up and there are 3 things I can click on there are 1. ... 2. I have no idea what I'm doing here. Bare with me here, I'm sorry.

[Q] SD Card - switching internal and external

Problem: I don't have an external SD card, and I want my phone to use the internal one.
When I used the EB rom (ics), I had to modify the last two lines of text in vold.fstab. Now I'm using Hackfests' JB (CM10)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1866688
What do I do in order to switch from the external to the internal SD card?
Im taking a blind shot in ths dark based off of past cm usage. Is there a cyanogenmod settings section under settings? The option to choose would be under application. I can't friggin remember Atm. But i never bothered with CM10 since CM9 don't work right either!

I managed to figure it out, but thanks for the reply
For those who might potentially have the same problem:
use root explorer (or any other root access app) and navigate to etc, then vold.fstab
in the last two lines of text, change swap sdcard0 with sdcard1, then reboot your phone.

Folder mount is your best bet. Search for it, or look in android/apps and games, or android/ software development,(i forget which) or even Google play. It is what i use, but it only allows you to link directories, its not the same as the swap script. I think i read that someone linked data/media, but i just use it to link downloads and a few large obb folders.

Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda premium
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39178981
What i did is
1 make a folder on my SD card where i wanted to link a folder from my internal memory to.
2. Open folder mount.
3. Press the + icon
4 pick a name for the link, to better manage it.
5. Select the folder from the internal SD card that you want to link as the source.
6 select the external folder you made in step one as the destination.
It will then ask you if you want to move the files over. I always say yes, other people move the files over first then do the above steps, up to you. After the files are done. Make sure the pin icon is clicked. Its either white or green, i forget. I moved all my obb folders over, and the apps still run.
