[Q] [REQ] Boot2Gecko build for Nexus S - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been looking at the B2G project, and it looks very very nice. Has anyone thought about building a version then releasing it? There are kernel sources for crespo (Nexus S) on their github at http://github.com/andreasgal/B2G
It uses a slightly modified version of the Android kernel. I would love to see some pre-compiled builds released for Nexus S. Could someone please release a build?

all i see is sgs2 source. i have no idea where you got that there is ns source there

Mozilla seem to be seriously working on it

Source code difference: vanilla kernel vs apollo kernel

Hi guys..
I did a compare on the source code from the code Samsung released (so eclair) and the vanilla linux kernel..

[Q] ATT kernel

I've been looking around but I don't see an 2.47 based kernel out there that has been tweaked. By chance anyone have a link to a thread or is everyone using the DHD kernel instead?
The kernel is mostly stock linux. The DHD and Inspire both use the same board: htc spade. The kernel source MUST be released as per GPL licensing terms. HTC posts this at its site. The Inspire kernel source is here:
http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
You can build on that source if you want, but under GPL terms you must provide the source too. Several good kernel source trees are available via github. I have found that mdeejay has a very nice kernel based on stock HTC source plus tweaks for OC and UV as well as modified and new governors. I forked this tree for my sense3.0 based ROM and made a couple of minor changes:
https://github.com/hoxsiew/msm7x30-gb-kernel
I would recommend this or a kernel based on mdeejay's source tree as an excellent DHD or Inspire kernel:

Thank you! Will dig into this later today.

[Q] Where to find Kernel Source for CyanogenMod 9 v4.0.3 v2.1?

Good Evening,
I am modifing the kernel source (the wifi part specifically) working on a CM7 system and I want to migrate to CM9 because of the improvements on the system and kernel.
I know I can get the CM9 source code from CyanogenMod Github repo, but the kernel comes pre-compiled. So my question is:
Where I can find the "official" kernel source code that comes with CyanogenMod 9 v4.0.3 v2.1?
KalimochoAz's samsung-kernel-crespo repo has been last updated 2 months ago, so I guess the kernel updates must be somewhere else.
Thank you in advance,
Renzo

[Q] Where can I get the latest kernel source for Cyanogenmod9 nightly??

Cyanogenmod 9 is under developing. We can try nightly version of it.
But, Where is the kernel source for Cyanogenmod9 nightly??
I went to Cyanogenmod's Github, but I only found samsung-kernel-crespo(https://github.com/CyanogenMod/samsung-kernel-crespo)with outdated source code.
Where is the latest kernel-source??
I have unable to work now!
Thanks.

[Q] Are Cyanogen devices tree compatible with AOSP ?

Hi all,
I've a question for you guys.
I've a SG3 (i9300), I'd like to know if using the cyanogen device tree for my device (located here) is possible to build AOSP source code.
if yes, then it looks like that would be possible to compile Lollipop AOSP for my device.. am I right ?
Thank you very much.
Cyanogen IS AOSP... Lol. Its AOSP with added features. If that's not an Android 5.0 lollipop kernel source, then it won't boot out of the box. Your best bet would be to get some Android 4.4 kernel source and do ramdisk edits and what not needed to get an Android 5.0 ROM booting. Alternatively, if your device is CM supported, I know they were talking about releasing CM12 soon, you could just hold out to see if your device is supported. Outside of CM, many custom ROMs (AOKP, Pacman, etc.) Take it upon themselves to release ROMs as well. Example: PACman had a 4.4 custom ROM out and in circulation, even before cyanogenmod, so u never know!

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I'd like to know this only for learning purpose, I'm not going to compile the AOSP
What I don't understand, is why adding the device tree to the lollipop AOSP is not sufficient to boot out of the box, can you please explain this in details ? Many thanks.
