[Q] need quick, simple answer... what mouse works? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got a Xoom and for one specific work function I do, I need a mouse. I see alot of threads about mouse & keyboards but I'm short on time and I'm not very 'techy" lol - so simply, can someone tell me of a mouse that works with the Xoom (doesn't matter if it works with a keyboard) and where to buy it? Also, I have no idea how to hook them up but thinking I can figure that out.
Thanks a bunch!

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. Works like a charm, even the "back-button" Where to buy? I guess that depends on where you live.

Thanks so much! I can google where to get it but I chatted with Microsoft support & was told they've heard some some bluetooth work but they couldn't really tell me one.

Are they easy to hook up & get working?
I did find one for sale on Amazon.

not sure if this is true for non-custom-roms, but yes... Just press the "connect"-button on the bottom of the mouse, search for bluetooth-devices with your xoom, pair with the mouse, use 0000 as pin, done.

[Q] Magic Trackpad and Xoom?

Im looking at getting a Xoom as a computer replacement, I know it can be paired up with a bluetooth keyboard, but does anyone know if you could pair a magic trackpad with it?
Ideally, I'd like to have it docked to my tv and be able to control it with the keyboard/trackpad combo. Anyone have a trackpad and Xoom and want to give it a shot for me?
There is no mouse/trackpad/trackball/cursor support in Honeycomb. Yet.

Asus tranformer has a support for trackpad as seen on some videos. I wonder how they did it on Honeycomb...
They added support, note "Yet". Once the Transformer comes out, there is a good chance that cursor support will be added to the Xoom. I try not to be too theoretical since we don't know anything about any Honeycomb device other than the Xoom at this point.
I just came in to post a new thread asking if the Logitech DiNovo Mini works on the Xoom...and found this thread.
Does anyone know?
I know I am late to this - but just in case anyone else was wondering - both Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Trackpad work fine with Xoom with the 3.1 update - have not tried with 3.0.x. Trackpad gives a mouse pointer as expected but tap to click doesn't work - you have to press the track pad to click. Overall works good enough for my light use.
Could it be possible to write a new Input Method to deal with the Magic Trackpad?
any update to this?

The Xoom does have mouse support--I haven't used anything other than my MS bluetooth mouse, but that works just fine.

3.1: Mouse cursor

Anyone know how to change the mouse cursor, so that you can SEE it? ;-)
I'm sure some rom's will be out soon that do this - just wondering... I'd like to see it bigger, and a brighter color.

#1. I'd love to be able to increase point speed/acceleration too! Patience though, I'm sure these things will all be here before we know it!
Gotta say though, I was shocked. I have two different wireless mice, and both connected almost instantly after plugging the USB receivers into my Xoom. Definitely as quick, if not quicker, than on my win7 desktop.
So I really need help with this. I went and bought a Interlink Bluetooth Mouse. The Xoom finds the mouse, but asks for a pairing code. Ive tried 0000 1111 2222 9999 1234 9876 everything.... NOTHING works.
The manual says use the option that says there is no password.
Anyone know what I can do or try??? Please?
I am in the same boat. I have an older bluetooth Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer that the Xoom sees just fine, but when I try to pair it I am asked for the passkey. On my Win7 laptop I do not need to enter a passkey. I have tried 0000, 1234 and several other combinations with no luck. If anyone could give me a suggestion I would really appreciate it.
"6789“ is also a common number.
I remember having a mouse that had a 5 digit key. Try 00000 or 11111. Good luck.

Does the mouse show up on top of every app? And can you use it to type with the on screen keyboard?

what about 5555?
You need to get a more current mouse, I ran into this issue with a Logitech mouse I bought a MS Notebook mouse (Bluetooth) 5000 and never have had an issue with it

you need to purchase a compatible mouse for the xoom I had this issue with a Logitech mouse found out it was a mouse issue not a tablet issue I returned the mouse and bought a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook 5000 Mouse. I bought this mouse after talking to Motorola support and stated this is the one they are told to recomend.
Thinking of a little tweak... question how many people use a mouse with their tabs?

I use a mouse with my Xoom (and keyboard) especially when in a meeting. Makes it easier especially when using the keyboard. It would be great to have a larger pointer however!

[Q] use your computer's mouse and keyboard on xoom

hi, i wanted to use my computer's mouse and keyboard on my xoom, is that possible? if it is can you please tell me how. thank you.
Search it on YouTube. You need wireless Bluetooth keyboard and or mouse. Start with the mouse first and enable it to search, now on the Droid device enable Bluetooth and pair with it. Once its connected move on to the keyboard, connect that the same way. Once the keyboard is connected it will automatically disable the mouse, re-enable the mouse and now both work! Hope I helped, if I did, hit the thanks button! Good luck.

so you cant use your computer's keyboard or mouse, you can only use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard?
That is correct, most wireless keyboards and mouse's for a computer either have a USB stick or 1 module for USB for both that controls them. Bluetooth is the only way to do it. I mean, I guess you can do via USB, but you would have bulky wires hanging out of your phone and wouldn't look nice and neat. Blue tooth keyboards and mouse's are fairly cheap and work exactly as a Bluetooth headset device. I would recommend going to a computer store, like Microcenter or somewhere like that and find their clearence items, usually have those in the bins

I bought the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse made for Android, and both work wonderfully with my Xoom. When I dock it at work, I basically use it like a laptop and am 20x more productive. Check it out...
Logitech.com/en-us/tablet-accessories/android
You should be able to use any Bluetooth capable device though. I like the Logitech stuff because they actually incorporated android buttons onto the keyboard.
Enjoy!

PS. I apologize for the cheesy URL, but I'm not ALLOWED to post URLs until I've made 8 posts... <sigh>

I've tried several different Bluetooth mice and they all seem to work just fine... I stuck with the Logitech one because it was marketed as being "designed for android", so incase there were any incompatibilities, I couldn't go wrong. You just need to make sure its Bluetooth... for some reason finding Bluetooth mice is pretty difficult... the local bestbuy's don't seem to carry them and had to order online..

Sure does! I'm running EOS Stingray nightly #40 and haven't had a single issue! Believe me, I was worried at first too after I made the leap, but I've been incredibly pleased.

So true. I'm using a Logitech MK-520 wireless keyboard and mouse, with its USB receiver plugged into the Xoom "Camera Connection Kit" cable.
I was surprised that many of the keyboard's "extra functions" (like FN combos, play/pause/volume) work with the Xoom.

Wii control as a Mouse

Is it possible to use the Wii Controller as a Mouse in Android? I mean I have a Moto Atrix and I use the HDMI cable but I don't have a bluetooth mouse but I have a Bluetooth keyboard so I need a bluetooth mouse and my country sucks at selling bluetooth mouse lol
sixaxis does so I think it`s possible.

im interested in the cat5 especially as i cant use wifi at work, sadly so my options are limited...

Why not use one of these? I use it all the time when I'm in hotels that don't have wireless.

The screen is matched only by the Retina display. Best Android screen on the market. We've had 4 or 5 updates so far, including JB as one of the first non-Google companies.

I have some friends that work for the government and their in the same boat as you. They aren't even allowed to use wireless when their traveling and it's available.
Thanks for this, sounds good. Only thing left to work out is line in then i guess, if someone could test this for me it would be really helpful. Its the last piece of the puzzle i think.
One other question, i take it the only "pairing" the tablet does with the keyboard is just being plugged in? The reason i ask is that if i buy a couple of tablets and keyboards (me and the mrs) can we just swap the keyboards round without any pairing faff?

As far as I know, you can interchange the docks. There's a driver for it installed in Android from the start. There's no personalized settings or anything stored in the dock itself. Plug and Play.

If you are located outside the US in Europe this would be your answer.
If you're a US user then your stuck with the complex USB adapter scenario it seems.
perfect, that actually looks just what im after, simple easy and with cat5 in built. shame it doesnt have line in then it really would be ideal!
edit: just need to find someone that will actually supply it to me now!
