no i did NOT make a backup,
i think this was due to lack of experience
cant someone upload a full backup for me so i can download it put on phone and 'backup' my phone with it?

also i think that the whole problem is that i HAVE NOT DONE the supeCID thingy..

rescratch your phone
i had it once what i did is after flashing the correct firmware i removed it from the sd card and placed my desired rom to be flashed and flashed it successfully.
try to flash the 3.24 firmawre and a ROM supported by this firmware .....
hope you will have luck ....

If you can see the white screen then you CAN enter bootloader. Two ways:
1. Connect to pc and "fastboot reboot-bootloader" on the fastboot or
2. Take battery out, hold vol- hard , insert battery and push the power button.
Flash the ruu from that screen

if you want to flash a rom you should first get your phone s-off with revolutionairy
just download the program, let it do what it has to and then let it flash clockworkmod recovery
then you can put the .zip of your rom on your sd card and flash it with the "install zip from sdcard" option in clockworkmod

Yeah, more info please, i have no idea what you did to your phone so give details.
It's pretty silly thinking someone can help you if you don't give details of your phone currently and every thing you did you it.

If your phone is super-CID, i.e 11111111 you can flash RUU..
that is the only way to reset H BOOT..
before flashing RUU unlock your boot-loader from here:
http://htcdev.com/
to be on a safe side go to authorized customer care center and tell them to re-flash the ROM using RUU (ROM update utility) they may charge some amount but your phone will be factory reset with S-OFF..
again you can root from the start..
(WARNING: flash the RUU with your own risk.)

I'm in the same bandwagon: hboot 1.23, S-on and supercid. I unlocked the bootloader with htc dev and I can confirm that trying to install a RUU always end in error 155, directly or from fastboot. And extracting the zip and installing from hboot, doen't work either.
I've tried every method I could find, including tacoroot and the very helpful guide from trkaaa, but nothing works.
Our best bet is to wait for Revolutionary to update.

Hi guys.
I'm a newbie in andriod and this is my first time to root the phone.

Seems you installed an ICS firmware but probably you have a GB rom this is why it bootloops.
What rom you were trying to flash?
Did you install a custom recovery first? (like CWM or 4ext?)
First: delete PG58IMG.zip from sd card
second: reboot in bootloader and go to recovery (hope you have installed a custom recovery).
Then, from recovery flash the rom (assuming is an ICS rom and you put in the root of your sd card already).
Hope it helps.

Hi kualmente.
I was trying to flash Revolution HD. I was doing step 2 to install the recovery, and i forgot where i downloaded the file with the name PG58IMG.zip, which is the ICS rom.
I didn't installed any recovery, because it was the recovery that i tried to installed then this issue came out. I tried to select recovery from the bootloader with or without the sd card, all i got is a red exclamation mark......
I think i'm in deep shi t......... please help me
You need to flash custom recovery first. All flashable zips from bootloader are called PG58IMG. So chose the right one and do not forget where you downloaded.
The exclamation mark means you are on stock recovery. No worries.
Re-download the custom recovery and put on root of sd card (means not into a folder).
Download CWM recovery from HERE
Then:
1) Reboot while pressing vol down + power button. It will install recovery.
2) Delete PG58IMG from sd card.
3) Reboot again (like point 1)
4) go to recovery, scroll down untill you find superwipe(wathevername.zip)
5) go back
6) again install from sd card - chose zip from sd card. This time chose the rom (wathevername.zip).
Remember to use Vol -/+ to scroll and power button to select.
Last but not least, be patient and wait untill the entire process is completed and prompted to reboot system.
Hit thanks button if it helped!

No need to go back to an RUU, potentially a big risk.
As an earlier post said get ClockworkMod (CWM) and install it. Then Superwipe then install your ICS ROM of choice
As stated all the bootloader flashable images are called "PG58IMG.zip". So the recovery and F/W will both be called that when you install them through bootloader. Hence it's a VERY good idea to clean up afterwards. When ever I download a PG58IMG.zip I rename it, e.g. to cwm-5.0.2.0-PG58IMG.zip, of course they have to be renamed to the correct name to flash them. This means I can easily keep track of the dammed files in case I need to use them again.

what exactly are you trying to achieve by rooting?
There is a way to install 4ext recovery which gives you a sort of root on 1.27 that allows flashing

downgrading with an official RUU doesn't work either, just device write errors, nothing specific...
Official RUU from KPN ?

[Q] WriteCID for HTC Sensation Not working

Hi there,
I have bought a HTC Sensation from a friend. This one has been rooted, and I would love to see the original HTC ROM. Normally this should be possible easily but when i follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 everything goes well, but when I want to writecid 11111111 to flash any ROM I like, it keeps saying waiting for device. I can reboot it and it keeps working.
I tried a lot of things: fastboot off(hibernate function), reboot in bootloader again, plug in and plug out USB.
Can anyone help me?

this is what my phone says in fastboot USB:
-Revolutionairy-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT- 1.17.1111
RADIO- 10.14.9035.01_M
eMMC-boot

Fastboot USB etc
I Hope you can help me!
Thanks!
As I understand "fastboot devices" give you nothing while you are in bootloader?
Have you tried to uninstall HTC Sync and reinstalling just HTC USB Drivers?
Havent tried fastboot devices, will check that when i get back home. I am not using htc sync, got universal drivers, adb devices gives my device as connected

When i am in bootloader screen on my phone.
then type fastboot devices in Windows CMD prompt.
it gives no response.
*edit* Once I get into bootloader, my windows gives the sound of disconnecting the USB and doesn't reconnect.

If you connect your phone in fastboot to pc then the phone should read fastboot usb
If it is showing hboot then press power button once it will take you to fastboot

That's right, but when i type in: fastboot devices. it doesn't list my sensation.
But when i type in : fastboot oem writecid 11111111 it gives me: < waiting for device > .
that lasts for hours so i don't think it is going to work out then. Is there anything that i do wrong?

flash the GB(1.17) firmware again and see
here is the link to firmware thread (use the universal one if not TMOUS --if your cid fall in others category of the thread follow that)

When I'm trying to flash the PG58IMG.zip it says: wrong zipped image.
but it's the 1.17 version.
I'm stuck i guess. Trying the complete evening to fix this, but nothing works.
Which ROM is reliable and doesn't drain battery?
android revolution hd perhaps?
*Edit* Just found one which is updating, but still without succes. gives me the same Hboot but not writing de CID to 11111111, still gives: <waiting for device>.
And you said:
