[Q] sense crashes - HTC Sensation

Hey,
I have is with insertcoin 6.0.1
Sense crashes pretty often, usually after exiting memory hungry applications like dolphin or market.
Probably androids task manager that terminates sense.
How can I fix it? Is there a way to tell it which apps not to close?

You mean, your launcher closes?
There are some scripts which prevent that or you can try RAM Manager free from the market it has the non-killable launcher option as well.

Could you please direct me to a script as I had trouble finding one.
Everybody says not to use task killers, is ram manager something like that?
Thanks

Ram manager is a ram manager, not a task killer, but why dont you read the description ?
Link to the script (i did not try):

I don't believe to two are very relevant.
Well task killers are ok but i would go with something like fast reboot. Its acts like a task killer but instead of killing the app it signals it to restart or reboot so this way it stops correctly and frees up memory

I use no task killer app on my phone and it runs awesomely smooth at 600 mhz thanks to supercharger. What's more I only have 128 mb of ram.

Advanced Task Killer is bad because it is too aggressive and kills important background apps like the alarm service, etc. If you want a task manager download the new Astro file manager (it has a task killer built in) or ES Task Manager.
There is a very good tutorial on xda I don't have the thread handy but it explains why task killers are bad

[Q]Task manager

How can i download the task manager(from froyo) to cm7?

Can't. You can however add schortcut to your homescreen (or edit swipe gestures in launcher settings) leading to settings - apps - running apps.
I wud suggest u 2 use "ram manager" app by juwe11 from market. Its THE BEST ram management app i found till now
I am using system app from the market and it seems nice. Will try that ram manager though

[Q] After exiting browsing - FC\RESTART occuring

As I wrote, after I exit the browser, for example, dolphin hd, even though it happened to me in SKYFIRE and with XSCOPE.Just when I'm exiting FC (I think it is called) ot restart[?!] appears to me a white screen with green lettering of HTC and then it goes main table and takes a while for things to catch up.
Why does this happen?
What can I do?
I have SENSATION TMOBILE 4G, Android 2.3.4 Sense 3. Stock rom.
Thanks in advance
Are you using any memory apps? Have you been pressing home instead of exiting the app?Do you have millions of SMS? All of these are possible causes...
Its down to memory allocation,Forces HTC Sense out of memory (OOM) if you use spare parts apk you can set it to the lowest preset (opposite to aggressive) and it should fix it

memory apps? i have "easy task killer " and advanced task killer"
i'm exiting thruogh the "exit" option .
there is no millions of sms , only about 20 [new phone ]
So download spare parts and do what you write?
Your sensation kills the home screen cuz it needed ram... There are probably too many apps running in the background

Try not to use task killers because they actually waste battery life by killing tasks that have a service which enables them again anyway, causing more battery drain as the service and app is restarted

OK
i'll uninstall them.
BTW - should I use the stock task manager?
Is there anything else I can do to avoid that again?
Don't use any task manager,if you really want to kill apps then use HTCs one built in to sense

[Q] ICS multi tasking problems

I have a few questions about ICS multi tasking. I want to understand if something is wrong with my installation or that's how it is and if it can be prevented
Android terminates apps that I want running.
Some examples are sense itself (which I managed to prevent using ram manager) and music streaming apps that after switching away from it, it stops after about 10 minutes. File downloads also...
Any way to choose which apps terminate? Or other ways to fix it?
