which ROM do you think is best for htc sensation?
I DIDNT CRACK/FLASH MY PHONE SO PLEASE POST ANY LINK TO PROCEED
i want these apps to work without force closing:
camera like HTC AMAZE
phone calls
HTC SENSE 3.5 (i dont want it like SENSE 3.0, it will restarts every time i uninstall any app)
GTALK WITH VIDEO CALLS
WITH MORE BATTERY LIFE
Bluetooth with audio output
For what you're after I'd have a look at the InsertCoin ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198684
you could also try the RCmix

What does crack/flash mean. It's S-OFF'ed right?
I would recommend Bulletproof. ARHD eats batteries, and when I was on InsertCoin it was slow and camera FC'ed.
Bulletproof if you want a Sense experience. That ROM is very solid and under appreciated. I like to bounce between Bulletproof and CyanogenMod.
Sent from my CyanogenModded HTC Sensation 4g.
I have to say its Bulletproof for me at the minute, battery life is brilliant compared to any of the others I have tried.
Ok so, I hope this doesn't in terms become a thread jack but, I had recently installed Andorid Revolution HD by Mike and it had it's ups and downs for me, but I wanted something else. My friend had recommended that I try out cyanogenmod, which I did, just flashed it last night. Now the major difference I've noticed is, no HTC sense and very empty, which I liked because it gave me a sense of room to customize my phone more.
The only problem I'm having is, when I had the Revolution installed my battery was much more signficantly better than it is right now. I've done battery calibration and I've had it drop down to at least 25% and then I went to full charge last night. Today I used the phone to drop it down to 38% and then I went to full charge and this is all without any phone calls. Just text messages and Facebook, anyone know what I can do to improve battery life?
Btw what does FC means :X

FC = force close. An unexpected/abnormal termination of the application.

Underclock your cpu there is no need for 1.5 really
Use juice defender to manage your connections, (turns them off and on when screen off and on)
Try different kernels
Keep screen brightness down
I find all roms don't report battery stats totally accurate, more so in cm7 builds,
Bare in mind sense 3.5 is in beta
And...
CM7 is still in alpha
If you want perfect builds you'll be waiting a little while
I find insertcoin the one with least errors
But I've not tried bulletproof I will do tho tonight

You just flashed it, expect your battery to be really bad for the first four cycles or so. Fully charge and discharge at least three times. Once it stabilizes, your best bet is to exercise battery conservation practices, like Juice Defender mentioned earlier.

I've run ARHD for several version, I switched to InsertCoin and really like it. Runs a little hot on my phone with bricked kernel. Truthfully I'm waiting for an official release of cyanogen mod. Any ideas when that will be?
Oh alright, I'll give Juice Defender and Bulletproof a try as well. Yeah I do understand that CM7 is still in the alpha stage.
In terms of "best roms for sensation," what makes CM7 so much more popular? Or all the available roms out there like InsertCoin, Revolution, Bulletproof are just as popular but it depends on the user preference?

User preferences really, it doesn't use htc sense its pure google it runs how google intended it. There's no bloatware and no un necessary processes, it's clean and smooth.

HyperSensation is a very nice version of the CM7 if you like minimalistic
Right now elegancia Rom is really stable. Awesome battery life and performance. Everything works flawless.

I got my HTC Desire S yesterday and updated it to the latest stock ROM OTA.
Now I'm just wondering if I want to flash CM7, the phone feels very fast and snappy as it is on a custom ROM, will I really notice many differences if I flash CM7?
Cheers
You like sense?

That's the good thing about a rooted phone. Do a Nandroid backup of your existing ROM, and give it a try. We all have different tastes and preferences.
CM9 is also round the corner.

Only you can answer that question as snappy is one of those perception issues like battery life. As the previous poster suggested, do a nandroid backup of your current stock ROM setup and start flashing. If you don't like it restore your nandroid backup and you will be back in business.
When I switched from stock rom to cm7 a few months ago, I thought I had a new phone considering the speed advantage I noticed. To me a very important feature of cm7 is the control of application rights. E.g. if you don't like a torch-app to access your personal data you can search an alternative torch app or you can just deny the app the permission you don't want to give (and hope the app will still work).
Battery life improved greatly going from sense to CM7 for me. Overall the experience was much smoother. I felt like I had a new phone again.
Hi guys, I don't like HTC Sense and I wanted better battery life. I have now CM7, but my battery life is not better. I have CyanogenMOD 7.1 (stable version).
I charged my phone on 100% and then I wipe battery status, but battery life is wrong. What can I do for better battery life? Change radio or what?
Thanks for answers...

Check for some apps that can drain battery.
With the same version installed and only some Gapps from the package, with Tiamat kernel /smartassv2 governor at max ~900 MHz I had up to 5 days running time between charges.
How do I know which application drain battery?
I charge battery every day...

Have you seen this?
Apps that can drain battery are those that all the time are trying to access a network, or GPS service or syncing etc.
Hell yes!
I love CM7! I like AOSP. I have been using Sense since I got the phone, but now decided to give CM ago..
The speed is incredible. Its much faster than Sense. I love the simplicity in some aspects too.
However, I miss some sense features.
Examples: hibernate, clock app, some Widgets etc

CM7 was a great upgrade.
I should have done it long ago.
Love CM7 here, I switched mainly for battery life n customisation options

I think if you are happy with your ROM, why change it? You can change it in the future anyway, if you realize, that stock ROM is not good enough any more.
In my case, I also tried CM7 and I do not like it. Do not take me wrong, I believe it is a very good ROM, but I just cannot be without HTC Sense, that's all. So my last stock ROM was 2.3.5 and after long research for custom ROMs, I found one, Endymion. It is great ROM and with Sense 3.5.
The only reason for another one in the future is this one is not going to be with ICS.
The great thing about Sense imo is that it is an all-in one package. For example the weather widget, calendar widget and many more. Whereas CM7 is more customizable to your liking, but with increased performance and better battery life.
can anybody recommend any roms or mods that will help my sensation gain excellent battery life? ive tried multiple roms on gb and ics and still have had no luck. more recently ive tried ordroid, android revolution, and aokp build 37. with multiple kernels and the xxxpachaxxx-take-batterylife mod and still no luck. i can average about 9-10 hours with moderate usage but i really am looking for about a full 24 hours. is this even possible? ive had multiple phones in the past and there were a few i was able to gain excellent battery life on. for example mytouch4g on a few miui and cm7 roms could get me almost 36 or more hours, now i did keep data off when i wasnt using it, but im doing the same for my sensation and still no luck. is there anyone out there who has any recommendations or answers for me. i realize that not every chip is created equal but this is my second sensation, did i just answer my own question??? thanks in advance
hi,
Did you try ORDroid rom? I think is the best rom in terms of battery life/performance.....
I'm sorry if this an offence to anybody but with my experience it is not. Try hypernonsense for battery.
Also I've seen a mod in the dev section somewhere which brings about good battery but a large sacrifice is required, if you chose the power saving option that is. It only ever has one core running I believe at 1.5ghz ( the processors' true power ).

Check out one of my last posts.there's a link to a very useful battery guide. It helped restore my battery "life".
Also, newer phones use more power. Extended batts. Help this but eventually it will take new tech.nuclear powered phones would last a while.
I'm using a 1900mAH anker battery combined with virtuous inquisition 4.02 gives 24 hours easily. In fact my record was still on 62% after 24 hours
No other ROM comes close. You have to upgrade the battery though as well, which is dirt cheap for the anker.
Definitely up grade your battery ! I use Anker. It's much better than stock! When you switch from rom to rom, go into recovery with 100% full battery and plugged into charger, wipe battery stats from recovery then unplug charger. This will help with the battery life. Hope this helps you. As for Roms I'm currently using ordroid but the best battery life I ever got was from virtuous inquisition, likely because its a SENCELESS rom, I missed sence so I changed over to Ordroid. I wanted to give sence 4 a try. It's a give and take depending on what you want. If you don't care for sence and only care for battery life V.I. is the way to go. Hope I helped you

I'm currently using android revolution hd 6.6.5 and for my needs the battery life is fine.
I have to agree that with OrDroid my battery got drained a lot faster so I switched back to arhd Rom.
I have been on VI as well and it looks slick, mega fast and the best battery life of them all only I found a few bugs and switched back to arhd.
Still I'm used to sense now and ARHD is just the nicest Rom out there for me atm but that's just my opinion

I am running Elegancia ICS Sense 3.6 TMOUS_Edition_3.0.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663665) using the Bricked v1.1 kernel and am getting about 26 hours with light use and 18 hours with moderate use. In this day and age of power-hungry smartphones, I find this to be quite good!
U may use Faux's kernel on IntelligentDemond gavenor, it has good performence and long battery life.
Hi, my phone is htc sensation 4g. I've tried hypernonsense 2.8, ordroid 8.7, android revolution hd, and ordroid 9. I think all had a problem - camera close immediately when a picture is taken with flash on???? Also sometimes wifi complaint. camera sometimes work fine although.
Also the phone gets heated quickly wen using the internet.
I've decided to buy a new battery -anker 1900mah, i c it on ebay.
Is it good??
wat's ur opinion with all these probs? one more thing battery backup is too low
Is the battery charged when you are taking pics? Android revolution is pretty stable and you shouldn't have any problems there or with any of the other roms you mentioned. Did you update the firmware to match with the rom? Are you using any mods? Any mods that the rom installer gave you the option to flash? any extra kernels flashed separately?
iam currently using ordroid 9.0. the fimware is flashed using pg58img. kernel is faux123v007
hq ultra 1.5 mod for sense 4 flashed
the battery had 62% left
but when i clicked the with flash on the device rebooted:crying:
Help me
iam now thinking to install smartdroid berserk 1.5
hoping all probs are solved in that
pls give opine about the berserk and anker battery
HELP
If you want opinions on the battery, you could check Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk - plenty of reviews there.
I love my anker battery. On stock battery my phone would get hot doing regular things but with anker my phone stopped getting hot like that. it has made a big difference to me

Ok so I have a T-Mobile HTC sensation 4g and am running elegance Pegasus sense 3.6 the latest update of the 3.6 Rom. Randomly my phone just shuts off, not often but enough to miss some calls. What could be causing that? And does anyone else have that problem? I love the Rom. It runs smooth and has a great battery life. When I switched back to stock tmous Rom the random shut downs stopped. Maybe it's a kernel issue? Any suggestions on a kernel to use maybe with it. I tried faux already. Any suggestions or maybe a new Rom to use would be helpfull. I'm looking for speed, stability and excellent battery life.. thanks guys and gals.
What is your kernel?

I used to have random shutdowns on Sense 3.6, and over time I realised it was a issue with how sense was measuring battery life....
as in I would have my phone on 80% battery then it would reboot and show 50%......Then I switched to the Elegencia sense 4 rom and I haven't had that problem since...
but if you still want to use a Sense 3.6 rom, you should try charging your phone completely....then goto recovery and wipe battery stats and cache + dalvik...( if its a problem with battery calibration that should resolve it)
If you want to try another kernel you could go for Sultan....works quite well with the sensation
Wiping battery stats does nothing. At all.
It might be that the contacts on your battery are losing the connection to your phone. A piece of paper taped to the top of the battery might help.
