i have searched but i can only find the guide for rooted phones
To revert to stock you have only to look for your RUU and run it on the PC with the phone plugged

first flash back to 1.17
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
then s-on

Do I need to revert to old firmware to S-on and go back to stock Rom?
FFS people, doesn't anyone actually make sure they know what to do BEFORE rooting in the first place??
1. Flash old 1.17 FW (unless you're Super CID, in which case you may not need to)
2. Flash the RUU of your choice (normally the one your phone came with, if available)
3. Reset Super CID to one of your choice (again, usually the one your phone came with)
4. S-ON using the fastboot command in the guide in the Dev forum
^^^^
i will take some info from someone..how i can see CID without root ??
Hello.I am now posting for my friend who is too shy to register and post the thread here.
He has an HTC Sensation XE(S-ON,Stock',Not Rooted) and he has changed his CID from bootloader to HTC__001 (WWE) to get his ICS OTA but after restart he hasn't got the OTA,but instead he cannot switch back to his default Vodafone CID.He gets an error regarding smart_io.crd when he wants to change to any another CID.
So first question how can I fix that?
And I was also thinking about him trying an RUU for XE.
RUU works on untouched phone,
Question 2 : Yes or no?
Thanks for the support, please don't flame and as I was saying I'm doing this for a friend,I am using Samsung devices so it's not for me!
1.You can't write cid with s on. You must s off first
2. No, it won't pass the checks before flashing

Folks,
I'm looking for the stock RUU for my Sensation. The current software version is 1.45.707.2.
The phone is rooted and S-off. I want to reinstall the stock recovery so that I can apply updates from HTC. Also, I want to be able to install the stock ICS update when it is released.
My phone is off-network. The CID from the "getprop ro.cid" command is HTC__044, whereas if I use "fastboot getvar all" I find my cidnumb is 11111111. It also lists my modelnumb as PG5813000.
Anyway, I'd be grateful if someone could suggest the most appropriate RUU to use with the Android Recovery Manager.
Bump please!

Which one is for xe?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
Neither as you didn't ask for the XE one, those links are 2 places for the same 1.35.707.1 RUU
May i have the link for the xe one? And the firmware to flash and radio?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
RUUs include FW and radio so you don't need them.
Which RUU version are you looking for? There aren't many XE RUUs about
The GB version 1.73 asia wwe i think i just want to go back to my stock rom. But before i could flash that i need to lower myhboot back to 1.17

What HBOOT are you on at the moment? If you're S-OFF and Super CID you don't need to go back
Might be worth starting your other thread as well as opposed to hijacking this one

Thanks EddyOS for your help. Is it OK to use this as my stock ROM to get the recovery? I do want to reflach CWM once the update is installed.
Flash the RUU and you're back to 100% stock (but with S-OFF). Once you've eventually gone through the various OTA updates you'll need to flash before ICS, and the ICS OTA itself, you'll still S-OFF so you can flash CWM by using a PG58IMG.zip as you won't have a fully unlocked bootloader so fastboot commands won't work

So just use any RUU to get back to stock - if you didn't make a note of your original FW before you flashed a new ROM then that's your fault

Rom Update Utility. Contains stock rom, recovery and firmware that get your phone in factory state and comes in a .exe executable file. Only thing AFTER applying RUU to be completely stock is switching to s on. Get a proper ruu and flash it

hi i am on cook rom (not ics cook rom)
and now i wanted to restore back to original is this the correct way to do it??
1. installing the 1.35.707.1 RUU
FileFactory Folder View - Pyramid
RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.35.707.1_Radio_10.43a.9007.0...
2. & installing the 1.45.707.1 OTA update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17467303&postcount=5
only 2 steps?
what is the diffrent between ota file and official exe rom file ?
OTA is like a Windows update - it just changes part of the system. An RUU is the complete ROM - radio, firmware, hboot, the lot!
some one help please

I unrooted the sensation xe today. No experience with HTC whatsoever. By mistake installed RUU Gingerbread 2.3.4... but of Sensation instead of Sensation xe.
Now have all specs showing of Sensation like 1.2 GHZ and no Beats Audio, etc.
My question is this :
I have downloaded now ICS update RUU file ( the correct one for sensation xe ) but it says that my phone Must Be a Sensation XE and nothing else.
But after this installation of Sensation RUU , isn't my phone just Sensation now or I still can update with power off into bootloader from this ICS RUU since in reality it is a Sensation xe ?
Or do i need to install a Sensation xe gingerbread first before I upgrade ?
Please advice. I don't want to plug in my usb and install wrongly.
Any way out please ?
Thanks in advance.

Number one what's your objective meaning what are trying to achieve you could have found a xe ruu instead and my suggestion if you won't the ruu for the xe you will have to read before flashing don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be rude but this could have been avoided had you did a bit more reading and ask question's before running that ruu but let me do some searching around to see what I can find and I'll get back with you on the result's sit tight well I'm back and its a no go on the ruu for the xe strange though you think it would be in available but it isn't and also you could check with your carrier's web site for your device and it may point you in the right direction I don't know but it's worth a try I'm with tmo u s and thats how I found the latest update for my senssation and you could have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326631
