[Q] Any special software i can use to make 2d android game? - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I am currently using Eclipse with and android sdk along with jdk and e3roid. Im not really sure how to really use e3droid but apparently it's good. I am also using Opengl libraries. My question is if there is a software or library that can help me make games easier and faster. Example: Drag and Drop like they do with XML in android.

[Q] Developer for hire?

There are so many talented developers here on xda and their passion for creativity only led many to working for free just to express their art. Fellow flashers (including myself) would not exist if it weren't for the developers.
I've been searching for an Android apps developer everywhere, and the thought just crossed my mind, XDA. A place I've gained respect for the development community.
So, I pose a question (with much respect), how to approach a Developer and find out if they would be interested in a "small app project for hire?"
If you are a Developer, I would love your pm.
Btw, I hope I'm not breaking any rules or offending anyone, as my pure intention is only driven by the developers passion here on XDA (otherwise, I have searched guru, but don't know anything about those developers).

I recommend posting in the general (non device specific) android apps section. U will find more ppl. Also of the app is really simple u can use buzztouch.com or appsbar (both are free) to make it on your own with not much technical knowledge. Ive made a few simple apps using those and I'm a pretty basic user.

I went to buzztouch and it seems like creating menus and content management is easy to use, but the actual app is created with eclipse? I don't have the coding knowledge (example, moving objects etc...). I'm decent with design/ drag and drop but not at all with codes. Looking forward to developers response
eclipse is only used to compile the app and is pretty straightforward to do. no coding necessary, and the buzztouch also spits out source for an ios app at the same time so u can have your app on multiple platforms all at once.

[Q] SAX and Android

Sorry about posting in here, I wanted to post in there Android Developers but it says to post in here cuz I'm new.
Anyways I've found this question asked a while ago, in a couple of different places but it hasn't been answered so I'll try asking it for myself.
I am working on a Android App that needs to read a XML file, I'm using the SAX Parse. I found an example on line that I've messed with and it appears to work if I make Java Application out of it. Though the same code does not work when if its placed with in a Android App. Is there some difference between the SAX implemtations between Striaght Java and Android's VM? Code is aviable if you have any questions.
Thank You!!
I've had a bit of a Google round and I can't see any reason why SAX wouldn't work with Java ME. In fact, I've found examples that use it specifically for Android...

Although this site is obviously full of very talented developers, if you have specific coding issues then I strongly recommend you go to stack overflow. It's a VERY busy site, with some very good (and some not so good) developers all clambering over each other to answer questions. The site is specifically for answering code problems though, so you may get flamed by asking the above question without showing some code. Along with xda it's my most visited site and I couldn't recommend it enough.
To get you started on there, here's an Android/SAX question that may help you with your problem...

Good luck mate

[CLOSED][Q] Bare bones minimal Android OS

I was curious if it's possible to create an Android ROM that runs the minimal amount of Android: uninstall all system apps, no systemui, no Google services, no notification drawer, etc. When you booted up you'd only be presented with two apps: Terminal emulator and Hackers keyboard. From there you could install a Linux distro to run on top of Android.
Why?
There are already apps to allow you to run a distro on top of Android; however, Android can use a lot of RAM and resources, but provides the gateway to the hardware. Being able to run a very stripped down version would allow you to convert an old phone into a server, use as a small computer (like Raspberry Pi), etc. Also potentially you could keep the Dalvik (or ART) so that it could still run Android apps, which you'd invoke through a terminal.
Any thoughts?
Anyone got any updates on this?
