[App][Beta]SSLStrip App needs testers - Android General

Note:
This is for testing your own network only, if you are selected for testing you must have read and accepted:
http://bacoosta.com/terms

Hi, I'm pretty familiar with sslstrip since I wrote a whole script that helps using it on BT5, Maemo, and Android.
Basically, it performs MITM attack, and parse sslstrip's log to output the credentials sniffed and the website it came from. Just search for yamas in Google, since I can't post a link just yet ("yamas script" does it).
Anyway, if you need help testing, I am willing to help !
I have a HTC Wildfire S (MARVEL, A510e if I'm not mistaken), running Android 2.3.5 with Sense 2.1+3.0 lockscreen and a mod ROM with Sense 3.5.

Hi. I mailed you earlier, I would gladly test this. I have HD2, sensation, galaxy s and galaxy s2 as testing phones. So can report how it works on different phones/brands.

I think we start at the same time=0=...
I started trying to port it two weeks ago...haha

A little bit spaghetti code.
Enjoy!
( BTW, it's my first personal open source project, and it's my first post in XDA )

Is the beta still open ?

I could test on my Galaxy nexus running AOKP milestone 4!

Forget to mention i have a galaxy note running Codename Android beta 5.1

+1
Bump
This is to interesting to let the thread die

I'd like to test this version out on my GT-P6210. I tried the other version on the Market and arpspoof seems to work properly, but sslstrip does not. It never logs anything. Logcat doesn't seem to present any relevant error messages.

count me in..

Netflix works on the Tab!!!

This post here.
Overcome 2.0 Beta 1. Not tested on anything else yet.
Enjoy
um, no...it does not. then, after edititing the build prop file, trying to fool netflix to think im htc vision (g2) still i get the same device error. this trick must have been patched already.
edit, apologies for the lack of details
cm7 2.3.4 gets detected by netflix and stops me at the device not supported pop up.

Are you trying with a stock rom or a custom rom?
It's working on my gTab... I am currently watching Battlestar Galactica.
I am running Overcome ROM Version 2.2.2 Beta 2. Some scenes were a bit grainy at first, but it seems to get progressively better with usage.

I didn't state nor did the link I linked to state that any prop editing needs to be done. Fresh Overcome GB ROM and the APK in the link and Netflix plays. I just finished watching Predators. Don't state it doesn't work when its just your device thats not working.
sorry i forgot to mention that im running techno's cm7 2.3.4 (perhaps thats the prob?) ill be trying overcome asap.
apologies for saying it didnt work for me...try and relax a bit fella, my tab is working just fine otherwise.
apparently the overcome guys are the only lucky ones?
On my Wifi only Tab I changed the lines in the build.prop to HTC and I can login and hear sound when I select a movie but no video.

I believe wifi tabs have different hardware then 3g ones. Build prop could be one fix but I think there might be a hardware check or something that is preventing video for some.

SO i take it, Netflix only works on GSM overcome Roms...Sprint tab rooted with original Rom does not work. The screen just disappears when you log in. SMH at Google. To many software/hardware versions for any company to make a app right.
i ment in like australia..
Works fine with the new Gingerbread ROM on Tmo US.
another +1 on overcome 2.0 (2.3.3) i havnt had much time to test but it loads and plays. ill see in the next couple days how it works without wifi. at home it seems to be all well.
comming from technomancer's cm7 port overcome is MUCH MUCH smoother, cleaner, faster and has none of the issues i used to have with cm...but thats what you get with ports that arent updated regularly. the older overcome worked well, but i chose cm7 because of the settings and such, and back a couple months ago there wasnt THAT big of a diff (and cm is whats on my g2...so i thought id prefer it) now after using the latest 2.0 i cant believe how well this tab functions now.
so, netflix made me switch roms, and it works!!...but i got a bonus surprise with how well overcome really is.
very good day for my tablet!
Works perfectly on my us tmobile tab with overcome beta 1 and 2.3.3! Picture quality is very crisp. Streams with no lag
Works so well that I was on the phone with netflix yesterday and was telling the guy on the phone about it, info on 2.3.3.
and the the netflix app in his email got me 6 free months of service via coupons.
Awsome!

Also I think its funny that one of my other devices is actually supported and it doesnt work on it! Rather watch it on the tab anyways.
does not work on att stock rom.

That's really appreciated! Going to bake it in the Gingerbread rom in 2 days. (got a busy weekend, so I don't really have time these 2 days.)
Quick Update: I've got gingerbread almost working. Atleast it's booting. And stops working while booted. (So you log in with your pincode, and then u enter the main menu. And then ur phone is a brick) But atleast it's something.

Samsung has announced to release Android 2.3 update for their various Galaxy devices. Devices like Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Ace/Gio/Fit/mini will get the Gingerbread update in the coming weeks via Kies.
The upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread will bring lots of new features and improvements like faster performance, powerful graphics and improved user interface.
Although there's no clear timeline about other devices, Galaxy S' Android 2.3 should be available in UK and Nordic countries anytime soon followed by other regions.

Screen Casting/Media Sharing

I have released a screen casting application in the Android Market using SL4A.
It allows the user to mirror their screen on their laptop or desktop over wifi.
I have attached the apk and the python script needed to run the application.
This is an open source project hosted on google code. Feedback and help improving the performance/additional features is WELCOME!!!!
Support for the X10, Atrix, and NexusS is ready out of the box because those are phones I was able to test it with. Rename the GroundWork.py.txt to GroundWork.py after downloading.
Link to project

My phone crashed and went into a boot loop after messing with it. I had to reflash my rom and data.
How stable is this app?
Why would the app do that?
The app was a slow working on the x10.
Didn't like the flow of it.
Got the app to start to stream, then the whole phone crashed.
I like the idea of the app and the structure. I am sad to say I won't use it unless the bootloop crash problem goes away.
If you can get that sorted out. I will be happy to help with other testing.
I hope your app development goes well. I wish you luck.

??? This doesn't do anything regarding the booting off your phone. Are you rooted and what rom are you running? To be honest I am testing the rom on my motorola Atrix so it may be slower on previous gen phones. If I can't iron out the bugs or find an xperia to test I will remove it from the supported phones for now.
The app is in beta it is not reached version 1 yet.
I am sorry the app cause you to reflash your rom, it should not have.

I was running the 2.1 rom in my signature. Yes i am rooted. No need for sorry. I porbably just screwed up lol. I am still learning about testing apps. I got the rom thing down though.
I can try again sometime in two weeks when i dont need my phone running stable. I would say remove the suppport from the x10 so these threads dont get bombed by the noobs who have no idea what they are doing. Thats my opinion though.

[Q] Help with rendering Points

Hi,
I am developing an astronomy application that renders stars.
I was experimenting with the idea of showing stars with different sizes. There is a function in OpenGL which allows points to be rendered with different sizes based on their distance from the camera.
The trouble is, I am not able to get this to work on my Galaxy 3. The same code works fine on my HTC Desire.
My Galaxy 3 is running on the Stock 2.1 ROM that it shipped with. I haven't upgraded to Froyo yet. I was wondering if those with the official Froyo update get any better OpenGL support.
Attached is the application (apk) file, and also the Desire and Galaxy3 screenshots.
Please let me know if it works on your Galaxy3 and which ROM do you have.
Edit: The Desire screenshot on the left shows the point size reducing as the points recede into the distance. In the Galaxy3 screenshot, each point has the same size (and is rendered as a large square).
Thanks,
HRJ
C'mon, no replies yet?
I am trying to improve the experience for Galaxy 3 users. You just have to download that attached APK and tell me how it looks on your ROM.
If the points look good on 2.2 ROMS, I can use this technique in my app.
(The reason I have not upgraded my Galaxy 3 yet is to catch such bugs).

That sucks. It makes development tougher.. I will have to try some alternatives but they have their own problems.

Newer version
The last version didn't render correctly on Galaxy 3.
So, I have built a new version (attached). This one will only work on Android 2.2+
Can you please try it on your Galaxy 3 (if you have upgraded to 2.2+) ?
Also attached is a screenshot of how it looks on HTC Desire (running Gingerbread), for comparison. Though, my hunch is that a comparison won't be required. It will either work or fail with a crash
Please do try it. Thanks in advance.

Some stuff for the lt02ltespr

Hi. I figured I'd start this thread here and work from it until things are farther along and more legit. I just got the Sprint Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 a few days ago and now I have CM-11.0 booting on it. NOW MUCH WORKS YES RADIOS. THERE IS NO NFC SUPPORT!!! and BT works, audio works mostly. So, consider this just a nice little preview you can flash to see Cid on your tablet. Don't post bug reports and get all crazy please. I don't post much because I don't have time to respond very often. The link I'm providing is a generic link for now, but I'll post specific links IN THE THREAD for builds with new fixes and some info about the builds. Also at that link is a CWMR image for v6.0.4.7. Everything works fine on it. I've been testing it for a couple days. So, to recap: CM/CWMR for lt02ltespr ONLY.
http://www.oudhitsquad.com/android/?dir=Samsung/lt02ltespr
You might notice a carbon directory in there. This device WILL become an official CarbonRom device ASAP, but for now that dir is empty.
PLEASE NOTE: I don't do mods/kernels etc. I don't have time. If I do release something like that it's because I'm sharing something I'm working on for personal use and might not support it properly.
It's nice to be here. I hope there are some users who will enjoy this stuff. Cheers and OUT!
UPDATE 4/8/14: Today's updates are stripped of all NFC and FM radio stuff since the device has not HW for them. Also, I've been looking into getting USB host mode working so there's been some, but not full success there. I removed geomagneticd so the Google Maps app acts more like it usually does, but I think I like the compass effect we had going. Dual band wifi is more stable and both radios show up on boot for me. I checked BT audio yesterday in my car with a third party BT audio device and it worked, so now I can really be a road hazard. Not much else is fixed.
New builds will be here:
http://xinterloperx.com/
Navigate to whatever you need.
Count me in for testing. If it had wifi I'd be happy lol, anything is better than stock but I hate touchwiz

Sweet deal. I will be watching for it. Like I said I'll do any testing you need. Maybe a little help and I could even help you out building the rom. I have some exp with rom kitchen and a little porting exp. Had a few roms myself (toro,ls970,vivow) so im glad to contribute any way I can on this project. Hopefully CM will see it and pick the device up officially.

Way to prove me wrong. Love it when that happens lol. Running it now, seems nice, few graphical issues but nothing so bad its not usable as my DD. Can't wait to see what the future holds for this ROM/Device. Though IMO anything without TouchWiz is a step in the right direction.
Thanks again, and I'll keep you informed on any issues I find and am able to replicate.
I think I swapped the adreno drivers from the s4 mini... Spread the word, its coming.
Would you mind if I made a thread in the development section with links to this thread and the ROM? Of course you'd be getting the credit and all, I just think it would get noticed more there.

Am I right in assuming this is for the sprint version of the Tab 3? I currently have the t210 device and would love to see CM on it! Very new to Samsung. Only had the device a couple of days!
Yeah it is, but after its a little more stable I might decide to start porting it out to the other Tab 3 models. This is just an alpha build still and is far from ready. But if you could find a CM for T210 I may be able to hack-port it over. It wouldn't be the most stable thing out there but it would be a start similar to this ROM
