Is there a way?
Somewhere along the way I accidentally signed up for another account on xda, I'm wondering if there was a way to merge the two. I don't remember the old password and I don't have access to that old email.(NickM51988)
I'd really like to keep my "Member since 2006" Status.
Thanks guys.
Contact a mod for anything that has to do with accounts. They'd be better at helping you.

Thanks!
Didn't want to bother a mod if I didn't need to!

Hello,
It's best to attempt to always put communication through the existing threads rather than as PM's that way all the users get to see it, you should really also have EDITED your earlier thread to attach this picture, you could have done that by editing the first post, selecting the Go Advanced editing option and then adding the attachment, rather than starting another identical thread. That way all responses from all users will remain in one place and the forum won't be polluted with threads.
Unfortunately, I can't help you in with this particular problem as I don't actually use HTC_Sync myself and never have done, as I sync my devices calendar & contacts with Google (in the cloud).
But I'm sure other users will be able, so add more details to your existing thread by EDITing post one above and explaining whether you have ever got HTC Sync to work and and when it stopped, did it error and give you any messages? put as much information as possible....
Good luck.
Im wondering if there is a place to submit ideas on widgets/apps. There's not many people with the talent/skills to create programs but its sometimes the ones that know less that can think out the box.
Does anyone know of such a place?
I have this idea for an Instant Messenger widget. Since im very fond of widgets (because to me its a huge difference between our apps and iOS apps) I would love to be able to go through my AIM/Yahoo Buddy list on screen and send a message to someone that way without having to open up the specific app.
If something like this already exists id love to know about it. Even if its just a widget showing you who's online and when tapping sends you to an IM box (Kinda like the FB widget that shows you recent status updates/news posts.) If not id love to spread the idea and see if anyone can create such a thing.
Post this in the general android forums under the proper section rather than a device-specific forum under Development (where it should not be). Someone there might have some ideas.

I was thinking that but I've seen many other IM apps that weren't made by AOL or Yahoo so I figured a 3rd party would be more interested then the main source. Especially after seeing AOL ruin their AIM app with their recent upgrade.
Is there a way a Mod can redirect this thread to the proper place or should I just create a new one?

I promise you that none of the developers in this forum would be willing to spend time on an AOL widget I didn't know anyone still used that.

Yeah Im sure its a dying program but I figured it would bring it back a bit if it was always on =P like BBM ... when I had a bb i hated bbm but i used it cuz it was just ALWAYS on. If I had a widget I would always be on lol if i had the time I would love to learn how these things work and just make one.
Hi all
My son 13-year-old must submit his phone to me every night. Is there any software that I can read his SMS event if the SMS were deleted?
I will appreciate all your ideas and advices.
Here's an idea, give your son some privacy.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Even tho I agree you should give him privacy and build trust with him, I'll help you out.
You could get a app (not sure of name) that makes a nandroid of every thing (including SMS) and have it set on a timer to do so. So at a random point in the day it will backup everything in it and restore it quickly to see what's up, then unrestore. (Maybe titanium backup?)
If his phone is rooted you can easily do it with the app called undelete.
Im a parent I get it. But I think you're going to far and invading their privacy which will cause he or she to rebel big time once they find out...and make no mistake your kid will find out.
sent from my 1920 overclocked note 2 running jedi xp11

Protecting you child by giving him no privacy...
Besides if he wants to hind something from you he will, your options have been given, but then again he could prevent any of them if he wanted or just delete messages as soon as he has got them so at the most you get a couple
Hey guys, don't assume anything about the OP's reasons for asking the question.
Maybe his son has had bad habits or "friends" that no "real parents" would like their sons to ever meet.
He asked a technical question (giving the reason why and he could have just asked the question "as is", which would be my advice for any of such question in the future) and if you don't want to answer it because you think it's "bad", well, don't answer it, but please, keep your remarks for yourself.
If you want to discuss about parenthood and the like, there are forums dedicated to such subject. xda is a technical site, so let's keep it technical)
The nandroid backup is a good idea .
Another one
If your career allows you to get your messages, sms, mms, and even voice mail by email (in some unified messaging system or even with IMAP), you could use that. Usually, the messages are NOT deleted from the messaging server when they are deleted from the phone.
My own career provides such a service.
I think we are done here.
Thanks.
One day i was just opening my tablet and saw that my fingerprint got vanished and its asking me the alternative passwords. I remembered the one on the owner account and opened it and then I changed it to swipe and back to fingerprint... My account was alright then.. it had the fingerprint back in not time. BUT the standard user.. the other one.. i dont remember its password. Ive tried so many, those which i just thought of but did not put them ever in anything.. but it was no use.. if there is one password left, ITS THE ONE BUT I DONT REMEMBER IT.. that account has the most data in it so i cant afford to loose any data.. i wanted to know that if there is some way of removing passwords from the whole Android Device? Or Changing Passwords? Or Administrators for changing the passwords... anything i just want it back... another thing is that after the 5 unsuccessful tries.. it does not say unlock via google maybe because it is standard user... Please tell me how to do it Step-by-Step... please... ull be a lifesaver!
READ ALL OF IT PLEASE.. MAIN THING IN THE END. STEP BY STEP WORK NEEDED... SERIOUS PROBLEM.. MAY SEE THE ATTACHED PHOTO!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. There is a reason you use passwords and that's if someone doesn't know the password they can't get to the data. The only way to reset the password is to wipe the device and lose data. There is a dedicated forum for your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s They are the experts on your device and the best place to get your questions answered.
