Does anybody know how to open up the NVM folder on an LG Phone through QPST? - LG Optimus 3D

Anybody have any idea how to open up the NVM folder on this & all other LG phones when using QPST's EFS Explorer? I'm looking to open up this folder so that I can make a few modifications & am stuck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, so far I've tried "open sesame door" & it's a no go.

Did you had any succes? My p920 lost IMEI somehow and i think this would help me to restore it. How did you extracted NVM folder and where its located, or you are just trying to connect to phone with QPST? Thanks!

As much as I would like to help, I haven't the time, the energy, the patience or the willingness to provide long detailed instructions on things of this manner

[Q] Programs to open up .bin files.

I'm trying to root my HTC Evo 4G. I'm doing it through the steps given at HTCdev.. I started off by trying to unlock my bootloader. I was just one step away from accomplishing that until i hit a speed bump. I received an email from them talking about downloading a .bin file. I tried downloading it and it wouldn't let me open it. I need to open it so i can save it to my hard drive and continue on with the process. I've tried downloading the programs my computer recommended... no help at all. I was wondering if any of you out there have a good program to download so i can open up this .bin file correctly.. if so, please post a link to the download. It would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys!
I don't think you open the bin file, rather just flash it.
Scratch that didn't realise you meant on your computer

How to flash?
So, how would I flash the file? I'm kind of new to this stuff, but I really want to root my phone. Is there a more easier way to root my phone other than the way given at HTCdev?
Not sure if it works, haven't tried it but just came across this http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...cluding-unlocking-nand-and-flashing-recovery/
Hope it helps

[TOOL/REDIRECT] LGExtract

Hello LGP920 users, I don't have this phone (I own a 970), but, I'm working in a tool that can help you guys too.
The purpose of the tool is to extract the files .bin / .fls from the .kdz files, to use the tool SmartFlash.
I don't know if this kind of topic (duplicated) is allowed, but, is a tool for "all" lg phones.
For now its really useful for P920 and P970, because we can flash files bin / fls with SmartFlash tool.
Other phones has different file structures...
Check it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24083497
I'm not copying and pasting the text here, because I'm editing the another thread.
Please report any errors there.
Thanks.
PS: Moderators, sorry for anything
Thanks, certainly these tools are useful for developers.

Did you tried extract another file? or a kdz?
Your problem seems to be with Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider.
I will made some changes at the code to handle errors better and provide more details.
You should wait for the next update.

With LGExtract, roms can be prerooted even if the Megatron root exploit is fixed Thanks a lot
Hi guys, going off another thread I didn't find this thread using search so just popping in the search word extractor so the next poor bugger doesn't get flamed for not using search
Tool is great and will help a lot when we get the next rom we can root but has a better baseband

Nice, good to know.
Please check the output files in a hex editor to see if it make sense.
If the file has some headers (boot, recovery, lgdrm, divxkey, fota, system, etc...)

If you can find out, could you post what modem/baseband processor is used in these devices: P920, P925G, P970 ?
This info should be available in the Service/Hidden Menu and in the modem firmware file. Look for "Qualcomm", "Infineon", "x-gold"...

[Resolved] [Q] Samsung Galaxy Beam GT-I8530 Baseband Unknown

Hi there!
I was tinkering about on the system files of my Galaxy Beam, and (maybe) accidentally messed up with the partition of the device.
The device runs on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and now its mobile data service is disabled, and when I checked the baseband it says "XXXX" (I believe this is the same case as baseband unknown).
I tried to repair it using Szaby59's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145464), but to no avail.
I wonder if there is another way to restore the baseband of my phone? I understand I might have messed with the efs and modemfs files, will it help if there is anyone who is kind enough to share his/her stock efs/modemfs files, and I get to use those files to my phone?
Hope the information was clear enough, thanks in advance.

I just registered and replied this post with many thanks! Because I also had headache with my i8530 phone which lost the baseband info.
Your file of "modemefs.zip" REALLY worked on my I8530 phone! I unzipped the files and copied into the root directory of "modemefs", then reboot, finally the baseband came back!!!:good:
I almost decided to throw away this cell phone before I found this post. You have greatly helped me to solve my problem.
Many thanks again!

First make sure your phone is rooted and Root Explorer is installed.
Open Root Explorer, copy the files to /modemfs directory.
If failed to copy, one reason may be that /modelfs directory has insufficient space. Because Android system allocates different space for some specific system directories.
When you turn to /modemfs, Root Explorer will show "XX MB used, XX MB free" on the top.
If the free space is very little, you will NOT be able to replace the model file, so you need to consider to delete some useless or irrelevant files inside this directory.

[Completed] [Q] Cut/Paste issues. (moving folders to Desktop)

Hello, I didn't know where to post this so I thought here would be best, so I can be pointed to the right place.
in one of my camera folders, I've had around 12,000 pictures "had 30,000 before deleting".. I decided it's time to move it to my PC and sort them out.. I have tried to copy them before when they were 30,000 but I've never been able to do that (it just doesn't work)
when I tried to copy them this time through connecting my Note 3 Rooted, I accidentally "cut" the folder and pasted it my desktop in PC..
the folder I have copied was Empty..
when I checked back on my android there was no trace of the folder.. and my Gallery no more shows the folder.
I tried to undo the process but it also failed.
I don't know where are the files exactly?
I've used DiskDigger to recover the files.. but I couldn't see them anywhere.
I've used ES file Explorer to unhidden the files (if they were hidden) but to no avail.
I hope someone, anyone, would know what I can do to recover the pictures or at least know what exactly happened
thank you!
anyone? where should I post this at least...
is this an issue that is not known?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Have you written to the storage at all since these files went missing?

nope I haven't, I immediately did a recovery attempt..
the files are just not there... not a single one lol
so they must be "not deleted" somehow, somewhere.. they're there..

The only thing you can do is continue to try different data recovery methods and hope that one of them works. Sorry, that's about all the advice I can give you.

Extract IMEI from Nexus 5 TWRP Backup files

Hello together,
i hope you guys can help me out here. Today my Nexus 5 has been stolen. Now i want to prosecute but i need my IMEI. I am currently not at home but i got my laptop with a backup made by TWRP.
The folder looks like this:
http ://puu.sh/ nzexP/cfbff68baf.png (remove the spaces, i am new here thats why i cant post links yet)
As you can see there are some files and also two files efs1 efs2. But i dont know how to extract those or where to find my IMEI in that files.
Could someone please help me with that?
Thanks in advance
Edit: I found something in that recovery.log which might help to extract it? The log says:
Backing up EFS...
I:Backup command: 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of='/data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/05f111c90047784e/2015-08-18--14-50-33_cm_hammerheadcaf-userdebug_5.1.1_LMY48G_501//efs1.emmc.win' bs=1048576 count=3'

Maybe you guys now know which command the file was created with and you maybe know something for this in reverse to extract?
You don't have the box?
Call your carrier and they may have a record of the last IMEI for yoru nexus 5.
I have Bell Canada as my carrier and their system is able to read the imei from my phone.

As i said, i do have the box but i am not at home where it is.
Isnt it possible to extract this backup files?
If you go to Google dashboard it will give you a list of all Android devices ever signed in to that account. Including IMEI.
