Camera App Not working - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey guys,
My skyrocket is running stock android but is rooted. I have a weird problem with my camera. Sometimes when i go to take a picture, i get a blank screen and then the camera app force closes with a camera not working warning. I have to restart my phone for the camera to work properly again.
Does anyone have this issue or did anyone have this issue?

Try this first: Menu... Settings.... Applications... Manage Applications... ALL.... tap "Camera", then "clear data". (you may have to reboot after this. If that doesn't work, if you have CWM, try "fix permissions".

Thanks. Im going to try this method and see if it gives me problems. If not i guess i'll have to do the CWM method.

[Q] Network Problem? Phone Problem?

I recently bought a rooted Nexus s (GSM), and everything was fine until I powered off the phone. When I re-powered the phone, the mobile data didn't work, and the phone kept harassing me with the notification "sorry! the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" and made me force close it. and when I do press force close, the notification would pop up again instantaneously until I got tired of it and ripped the battery out.
The phone is currently running on NSCollab-1.0.35 ROM.
I tried hard-resetting the phone, but when I try to do it (via hard key reset and through settings->privacy-> etc) it would get stuck on the black google boot page and wouldn't budge. I can't even get to the recovery page.
I also tried to flash clockworkmod, then fix the permissions, and then reboot the phone, but that also failed.
The only way to stop the phone from harrassing me with the sorry notifications is to put it in airplane mode.. which certainly does not help my case. Please help! I will be eternally grateful.
Ok the reason this is happening is because you used the "switch from 3G to 2G" widget. You should've read the bugs when you downloaded the nscollab. Btw I use nscollab and I love it.
I fixed it by just wiping cache and just reinstalling the ROM.

If the process com.android.phone repeatedly force closes...

Hopefully anyone else that might be having this problem can find this thread, because there are tons of them but none suggested what worked for me:
Info:
HTC Incredible, 2.3.4, rooted but stock with crap apps removed
After attempting to clear the dialer storage (trying to delete all of my texts because my phone will lock up when trying to delete large threads, but that's a different issue), the process com.android.phone started force closing repeatedly. I tried clearing the data for the phone app, but pretty much everything crashed when I tried to (phone froze, notification bar disappeared, etc.). I tried toggling airplane mode and mobile network/data, but the options were greyed out. I tried rebooting and soft resets.
What finally worked was running "Fix Permissions" via ROM Manager (I assume it would work via CWM as well). The whole process froze eventually, with the notification bar disappearing and all that again, but the force close dialogs had stopped. I rebooted my phone and all is back to normal.
Hope this helps someone.
Your post does help.
I deleted phone stock app, because I have that dialer from go devs already...and the message pop up eventually.
Fix permission in recovery of CWM does work. Message gone ! But cannot call lolz....
I had the same problem with all of my custom roms I was trying on my Nexus S and I found the exact problem (after months) and how to fix it...pretty easy
The problem is the Stk.apk, just remove the Stk.apk from the rom (in the .zip file) or easier than going thru Winzip, just flash the rom do the setup and with ( I use Root Uninstaller ) remove it from system/app and you'll get rid of the problem
Enjoy
I tried all the solutions recommended and nothing worked. I called in to sprint and all i had to do was go to the dial pad and dial ##72786#
Hope that helps if anybody else is running into this problem.

Camera & Flashlight Problem

Hello,
this is my first post in this very very very helpful forum
recently i bought nexus s for 50$ but nor camera neither flashlight working
i tried:
1) flashing diferent roms
2) disambled it and cleared camera ribbon pins
but no success.
at this time i am on stock jelly bean i flasshed this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784497
when i start camera it says "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped" and app cloeses, but when i start app "Tiny Flashlight + LED", the app starts but it says "an application like youtube running in background may be preventing the light from starting. try stopping it or reboot your device" after that if i start camera it says different: "Can't connect to the camera". and if i force stop "Tiny Flashlight + LED" again camera app says "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped"
so i cant understand the flashlight is damaged and forcing camera not to work or camera is damaged and forcing flashlight not to work or both.
and one more thing, the front camera works (third part apps) but it shows 90 degree rotated picture no meter how i rotate it.
sorry for bad english
any help would be apreciated

thx but didn't work
maybe i had to post in General ?
i read somewhere that flashing roms via clockworkmod doesn't change every partition just system partition, so i decided to download the stock 2.3.3 backup and restore from clockworkmod but it didn't solve, same no camera no flashlight.
is there any better way to completly revert back to stock, then restoring 2.3.3 from clockwork?
1 more question:
if camera hardware is broken does it mean that flashlight wont work? until replace camera?
HEEELP i need heelp
i replaced camera but same, no camera, no flashlight, front camera showing rotated picture.
i cannot understand how can front camera work but now rear when they are on the same module (attached file)
now i am sure that it is software issue BUT, i tried everyithing
1) restored stock via CWM (i downloaded CWM Backup)
2) flashed stock via fastboot (radio, baseband, -w update)
different kernels, basebands, roms nothing helps
i have 1 last chance, ODIN!
but i don't know how to use it.
but if you are sure that flashing via odin is SAME as flashing via fastboot then i have no idea
Did you solve your problem?
Hello,

Thanks

[Q] Need camera drivers for I2000

Hello.
I've bought an I2000, and after having problems updating to the new ROM 20130510_e2001v21_v89_cxq, everything works, except my cameras.
Whenever I try a camera app it will return the error "cannot connect to camera", and also, after flashing my camera icon whent missing.
It's weird because I re-flashed it, just in case the first time there was a problem, and as soon as it reboots the icon is there, but when the initial animation finishes and I can access the desktop, it disappears.
I've entered the recovery menu and and went to "version", which gives you details about the HW of the phone and it states "LcmCam Info:" but it's empty, and the "camera" isn't amongst the running processes, and if I run camera tests in the recovery menu they fail.
I know the camera works, because before flashing I took a few pictures without a problem, and both software and hardware worked fine.
What's weird is that I haven't seen anybody else with the same problem after flashing.
Could someone that owns this phone and has updated to 4.2.1 with 20130510_e2001v21_v89_cxq upload the gallery and camera.apk please?
Or the original factory ROM with version 4.1.2, I can't seem to be able to find them anywhere.
Thanks!!!
Greetings

[Completed] camera failed

I have a samsung s4 mini.
For the last couple of days, whenever I go to my camera app, it says "Camera Failed". I downloaded "Open Camera", and this application says that there is another application may be using camera.
I have rebooted the phone, stopped camera, cleared the cache, even tried the camera on safe mode. nothing helps.
Is there a way to re-enable the camera without resetting the phone back to original?
Thx
Hi !
You didn`t mention whether you`re using a stock rom or a custom one
Removing the open camera which most probably caused the issue may work but not 100% sure , basically on stock rom should work , on a custom rom the things are different, this is library related and I can`t suggest you to go and remove anything from there
You either refer to the rom developer if on custom or just factory reset if on stock in case the open camera uninstall doesn`t work
Good luck
