Anyone out there seen this OS/Rom? Anyone interested in trying to port it over to our device? I'm no chef otherwise I'd do it myself.

Yeah, I saw it on the MT4G because my wife still has one and I was looking around at what to put on her phone. Well, if someone knows of a porting guide of some sort I'll try to do it myself.
Anyone please? Or just give me some guidance via chat or message?
The ROM is based on CM7, I'd do it if it were formatted for qHD. Sensation is my first qHD and I don't know how nicely HGVA stuff will play out on a qHD screen..
Still, just get out a CM7 ROM and replace all of DianXinos related files (which should be so,e framework and apps, I assume) and zip it up.
There is an ICS version of the DianXin rom.

There is? Where? qHD? I don't want to screw around with other resolutions besides this one
Nexus S and a few other devices have ICS ports for it. As for resolution I'm not sure because I don't know which phones have qHD resolution.

Hm, well if no one else does it then I might do it. I didn't actually want to release a ROM on the Sensation but I mean, eh why not.

yeah, for some reason this wallpaper excites me. i have it on my nexus one and it would be great to see it on the hero

it's the one from the htc desire. like i said it works on the desire and since someone got the desire rosie.apk ported, i thought that maybe it would be possible to get it to work. maybe it has some dependencies on the desire framework...im not too sure.

I'm looking through the file and i think its only a matter of it looking for a different renderer engine than the one that are on our phone. I almost got it. Just give me like a couple more hours, or sooner. lol

Ah, that one. Yeah, that one's pretty cool. Not a "must have", but it would be cool to have on my phone as an option.
I could make a youtube video of the one I was referring to, but trust me, it's not worth it...
Now, for a completely unrelated question....
How do I get one of the demo phones? I've done all the right things. Tried the phone stock when it was fresh out of the box, tried better roms, wiped EVERYTHING and then reflashed the fastest roms I've found, and my phone has never, ever been as snappy as what they show in these demo videos.
Makes me wonder if they build special demo phones that have a 3ghz core 2 quad in them with three and a half minutes of battery life.... (just enough to do a quick demo and then run back to the booth for a fresh battery...)

Someone leaked it to modaco a while ago. As for messing around with it. Install it and run logcat to see why it fails. Then use smali or the apktool from the g1 forums to modify it.

there is already a honeycomb for evo rom.
Its based of the sdk preveiw.
Mm yeah another port my best will be it wont work nicely on the Evo, we don't even have official (2.3 ) yet but at least Cynogen mod got it working but honeycomb is supposed to be for tablets how is it going to help the Evo, I got not idea, this is the only complaint about andoid(fragmentation )

Though a Honeycomb ROM for the EVO may develop over time, I doubt I will end up using it as it is built for tablets.
Also it is a part of my understanding that it is somewhat graphically intensive, which leads me to believe that performance on a Honeycomb ROM will be limited if applied to a phone without Tegra 2.
That is just what I believe however.

So, if there are any takers in regards to trying to PORT the HTC Sense 3.0 over for our Inspires .. go for it.

that would be sweet, considering HTC will probably stick with sense 2.1 in the gingerbread update for desire HD/inspire. From what I saw, desire HD should easily handle the visuals though...

As it is there's obviously some stuff broken, and in no way should it be a daily driver right yet. I'm downloading now to see what happens

Im may start working on this this weekend if I get everything else done I want to. See if I can get something to boot.
Will probably need quite a bit of kernel/init work.
And do I remember reading you need a 64 bit OS to compile a 2.3 kernel? Could be imagining things but I thought I read that somewhere. Luckily though, if thats true I just set up a 64 bit Linux box

I tried it out, it ran just as it would on a DHD... the resolution on the Pyramid is higher than the DHD/Inspire, and it wasn't scaled down, so you can't really see the dock, and the first unlock was a bit weird since there were no icons on the lockscreen to drag down to the ring, and the ring was off the screen.
It worked on AT&T's network fine though. I'm sure once some more work gets done and it fits the screen better, this will be a nice ROM, but right now it's not quite there. But, it IS only the first build and in a very early stage. Keeping an eye on this!

I just got my inspire and rooted it last week. I think i might flash this, Do I need eng-off or just put it on my SD card and flash it?

It's not exactly ready for a daily driver, as evidenced by the previous post.

Hmmm. I wonder if this line in the build.prop is what is causing your display density issues???
line: ro.product.display_resolution = 4.3 inch QHD resolution
The density is set to the standard 240 DPI. That is most likely the culprit.

As far as specs, yes. Historically speaking, DHD ROMs do still have to be ported to an extent. However, I would expect a fully working camera will be extremely easy with a DHD dump as a base.

I saw that, but isn't that complete crap? Just seems highly unlikely to me. My bet is HTC doesn't consider it worth it, because the myTouch series of phones has that ugly TMO-customized version of Sense. So they'd put a lot of work in customizing that UI to work on ICS for only two phones, one of which is nearing a year and a half old. I just don't see it happening.
Guess I might just keep my phone.. Sounds good...

maybe someone can take the launcher and putt it over sense or something but i don't know though, I'm no dev...
Porting from a different device takes a lot of time - and since it is older version than current available - nobody will waste the time on it. Porting the launcher is possible, tho.
