[Q] GT-N7000 LB1 needs help in getting rooted - General Questions and Answers

I like to get rooted, but my Samsung Note got LB1 already and therefore patched against zergRush and psneuter.
Been trying this already without success:
DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su
SuperOneClick 2.3.3
Also played with Mobile ODIN 3 v1.85 (Desktop version), but got stuck at "SetupConnection", i guess they filled that hole too with a fix.
Or maybe the "new" recovery mode needs some clicking?
Did try on a Win7 x64, installed Kies, run phone in normal way one time, then shutdown Kies, and started in "Android System Recovery <3e>" and used ODIN.
Same thing with a WinXP, i even tried to move Kies programfolder and reboot, then try again, no success.
Believe me, i booted so much times that Win (and phone) soon thinks im using a reboot-batch.
So i spent alot of time looking into this forum, and also other forums about this.
All i can say: I have no clue, hope someone smarter then me can point me in the right direction.
~~~~~~
Im looking at Cassie's XtraLiteRom, but i cant figure out howto get rooted, anyone got a clue?
If i know howto downgrade, then my problem is getting on the way of beeing resolved.
Please dont just say: downgrade, get root, then use Mobile ODIN Pro with EverRoot.
(That is my plans, but how? lol)
No, they didnt fix that ****.
It was a n00b mistake:
I did press "Home+Vol UP+Power" and did get into "Android System Recovery <3e>"
Odin cant connect to that and just waits.
Instead press "Home+Vol Down+Power" to get into Download-mode, then press "Vol Up" to continue and flash your Note.
After done the correct way i flashed in N7000XBKK4_N7000OXXKK5_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5 (using Odin3 1.85 Desktop).
Then rooted with:
DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su
Then i put in Mobile Odin Pro... and everything looks good.
Now i can relax again.
[Q] Problem rooting Galaxy S2 SuperOneClick
Hi,
I want to root my phone, however SuperOneClick gives issues......
As soon as I hit the root button, a window pops up named ´Exploit info´in which is stated:
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_CLK_KF3-v4.0-CWM4.tar
Odin3.ini
Odin3v1.85.exe
After confirmation (hitting yes button) ...ODIN starts ...
- killing ODIN makes SuperOneClick unresponsive
- continuing with ODIN gives an error within ODIN
- removing Odin3v1.85.exe from the list is not possible
Please help me... I dont know what I am doing wrong
Kind regards,
Bloemetjesgordijn
SuperOneClick not supporting 2.3.3
Hi,
I have looked around and read somewhere that SuperOneClick has issues with 2.3.3
Can this be the reason ...superonclick is starting Odin (doubt it)
Follow these steps :
1) First download Samsung firmware from GT-P3110 Firmware
2) Download the P3110 firmware based on your region or from any region but you need to wipe/cache reset in case you are going to flash from the region you are not residing.
3) Extract the firmware using winrar,winzip or 7zip,you will get a files with tar.md5 extension..
4) Open odin,please see only these options are checked. Auto-reboot and F.Reset Time,,plese uncheck all other options.
5) click on PDA and select the firmware you have got after extraction
6) Now click on start.
7) you should get a message in the left bottom panel saying "Successful".
8) your tablet will restart.
9) switch it off by pressing Power off button
10) Now immediately press Power button+volume up button for few seconds until you see samsung boot logo and leave power button but keep on pressing volume up button until you see android logo i.e recovery mode.
11) Wipe factory reset from menu and restart.
Enjoy Buddy.
[Completed] Need Help Fixing my Semi-Bricked Galaxy S5
EDIT: See bottom of post
Hello everyone, and thanks for taking the time to attempt to help me.
Earlier today, my T-Mobile Galaxy S5 updated to 5.1.1. I searched google and came across a few links on how to root my phone (G900T) - The one I ended up using was CF-AutoRoot
I used Odin 3.07, used the tar5 file from that site above where I downloaded the root, and attempted to root the phone. Odin says everything worked as planned ''passed'' was displayed with 0 fails. I waited about 20 minutes, but my phone never rebooted, it was stuck in a boot logo loop ' 'Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by Android'' or ''T-Mobile'' was displayed.
I tried going into recovery and reseting all data / factory wipe but that didn't help, and made it even worse. Now my phone says this when I try to turn it on: ''Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again''
How do I go about getting back to stock firmware , that is rootable, so I can then proceed to install CyanogenMod?
EDIT: I used Kies and was able to get back to stock firmware and the phone turns on.
Can anyone recommend a reliable root for the G900T S5?
Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
It's good to hear that you managed to revive your phone. Many of us find it convenient to install a custom recovery such as TWRP which makes backing up and restoring, switching ROMs, and many such activities much easier. XDA happens to have an active and friendly area dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy S5, and specifically to the T-Mobile version at http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5. I suggest you search that area or simply post your question in the Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/help where our experts will be most likely to be able to guide you.
galaxy tab2 p51110 soft problem
hy
First of all i want to say two things:
1. This thread was opened after reading 179 similar threads and browsed all 260 pages of q&a answers
on the galaxy tab 2 and other several threads on Samsung products with similar symptoms.
2. Thank you in advance to however is able to resolve this issues, not only for me, but for several others.
the section is full of similar problems with no answer whatsoever.
The story:
My Samsung p5110 WiFi only (stock firmware), started to restart randomly and at one point froze at the Samsung logo.
I was able to enter in download mode, and with odin i "managed" to load the firmware for p5100.
And that was the mistake. at restart started to display: “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again“. But kies does not connect and recognize the device at all.
so out of the question to salvage the device in that mode.
Odin still recognizes the device, so i was able to load several stock firmwares:
P5110XXBLH4_P5110OXXBLH3_HOME.tar.md5
P5110XWALD4_P5110OXXALD5_HOME.tar.md5
P5110XXDNB1_P5110COADNB1_HOME.tar.md5
everything goes ok, it says pass, but there is no restarting, the screen goes black. when i turn it on
the same thing: "firmware upgrade.....
Tried to load CWM and TWRP recovery in order to delete everything in the device, installed ok but
no effect, it is not launching, only: "firmware upgrade....
I want to point out that USB mode was to enabled do to the fact that the tablet broke so it was not
planned, i have uninstalled kies and installed the samsung and omap drivers now, same results, and tried
all the usb ports.
I am running out of ideas and other suggestion i haven't found on this site up until now, so any
constructive help and comments will be welcomed by me and more than likely by the others in
my situation.
use odin in this way
well i had the same problem with my GT-P3113
there is one way i know to solve this which worked for me.
1. flash TWRP/CWM
a)first make sure that you find the rooted md5 firmware for your device.
[this is my 5th post so i cannot add links. so you can always search in xda for other threads regarding your device's rooted md5 so that you can flash using odin.]
b)now flash the rooted md5 using odin
c) flash TWRP/CWM Using odin(i would prefer CWM)
d)then downlaod a custom rom for your device and place it in your sd card.
e)flash it using your recovery
f)now try rebooting and you should go into the new rom
g)now check usb debugging in the settings>about device>touch on build number 7 times>you will see developer options>check usb debugging.
h)now try flashing the original stock firmware using odin
CONGRATS YOU HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF YOUR DEVICE
NOTE:if you still have any problem with booting or if you are stuck in the boot logo try going to recovery and do a factory reset.
if still you have any questions let me know.
Similar problem but odin doesn't recognise device
Trying also different roms but no success. I can not do basically anything. Even for sdk tool computer must recognise device (I do have drivers and they work with all other devices ) and still it doesn't recognise. I am out of options. Please help?
Hello,
Here's the link: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0NXBN9Z63TY
If this didnt work out you can flash a custom rom through cwm.
Here try this rom.
If still any problem persists pls send me a message.
[Completed] s4 rooting issues (soft bricked?)
so, i was trying to root a verizon s4, there seem to be plenty of ways to do this.
i have odin 3.7 and 3.9 on my pc running windows 10(neither version fight with another)
anyway, i received a s4 that could not open the os. so i opted to try a root install. i opened odin 3.9 and dled a root rom for what i hoped was the right build... it failed.. ( yes i put the phone in to DL mode)
so, i DLed a different one, that failed to..
tried a third time, fail.
at this time after rebooting the phone, the screen tells me that "your device didnt update successfully. use the verizon repair assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update."
i DLed the windows version of verizons repair tool for samsung (i hope the right one, not sure as i had to search hard for it).
i ran the repair.. it spent an hr DLing, then started the repair. gets to 80% then fails.
i have tried this several times.. even restated my computer.
i cannot boot to recovery to reset to factory, which by the way was the first thing tried, but i can boot to DL mode.
i have read so many different things now, and tried different things that i am getting tunnel vision and cant focus anymore.. i need help please!
update
so i managed to get the phone working to boot the os by resetting the phone with a PIT file via odin.. i believe the build is of1? or something of that nature.. now just need to look int to rooting for that.
