[APP] LMT Launcher: Best Gesture Launcher!! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

I've been running CM9 alpha build for more than week so far and everything is "almost" perfect
One thing was bugging me though, the recent app (or multi task switcher) of ICS, long-pressing the home button was very painfull especially over time when I noticed myself using the recent app switcher more and more often..So I started searching for a mod or a hack to remap that function or link it to a shortcut on the desktop but I found what is better!!
I set up this launcher as advised on its main thread, enabled the "Delete" gesture to show "Home Longpress" and voila!!works as magic!
Hope someone else find this useful like I did

is the launcher the the same as the stock android launcher? if not could someone post it. thanks
Samsungs own I think, I use Launcher Pro though.
The stock launcher is TouchWiz. Its very good, smoother than launcherpro. And has a superior app drawer. I would use it if not for launcherpros customisation options.
Edit: i especially like the homescreen scrollong method in touchwiz, its much cooloer than lps elastic scrolling!
couldn't agree more!
For information: ADW.Launcher works well on the Tab too, no issues with the high resolution.
I'm using it rather than the stock TouchWiz one mostly so that I can customise the Browser and Email launch buttons. It has some extra nice touches, but can be configured to behave almost exactly like TouchWiz.
Launcher Pro is fast but its application drawer is very limited (it basically dumps a huge scrolling list of icons). Touchwiz is reasonably nice, but managing hundreds of application icons remains hard, despite the "move icon" feature in the application drawer. ADW.Launcher however, provides separate "groups" / "catalogs" panes to divide the application drawer into several distinct buckets of smaller size, which makes it a lot easier to find applications. I just hate browsing endless list of alphabetically-ordered icons
As for QuickDesk, it has some potential, but it is somewhat locked to portrait mode on my Galaxy Tab I am using it anyway as it plays nice with ADW.Launcher (the Home button gets hacked to support single/double tap and launch each of them individually).
Quickdesk pro has landscape support. It also acts as a completely different screen to portrait, so you can have FB/Twitter/music widgets in portrait and loads of icons in landscape

Hi, is it necessary to root the Tab before installing ADW.launcher?
Because I have tried installing it on my non-rooted Tab but the application doesn't want to install...

You can replace these in the stock launcher!

It's funny. Even though TouchWiz 3.0 comes on the Vibrant, I couldn't stand it. So, I use Launcher Pro Plus. On the Tab, I actually like it. It must have been much improved since then?
After testing several launchers, I have now become a fan of ADW.Launcher (mostly due to its categorization feature in the apps drawer) and QuickDesk (due to its quick-access to recent apps, and the ability to long-click to get to the app details, clear data, uninstall, etc.) I like how configurable everything is as well.
Remove Notification Bar
Hi guys,
Got the Tab yesterday and like it a lot. I don't like Samsumg's Touchwiz etc. so straight away I installed Launcher Pro and changed my home-screen etc.
Anyhow, I want to remove or at least stop the ever present notification strip appearing at the top. I had a Nexus One and was able to do this but can't remember how, can it be done on the tab as its wasting space on my homescreen, in the browser etc.
Cheers,
M
One the home screen, click the Menu button, Settings, Appearance Settings, Hide notification bar.
I kinda like TouchWiz. Mainly for the widgets which come in handy, but i absolutely love ADW. It may not have the widgets that LPP has, but imho, its 100x better.
Then QuickDesk Pro for the long press on thevsearch button to top it off

ADW.Launcher + QuickDesk => great combo !
I use the home button for both of them (using the "hack" setting for double-click support). Long-press on the Search button indeed brings up a few options, including AudioVolumizer (very useful).

How to change search button app in GO Launcher EX?

Hi guys.
I really like the GO Launcher app, but one thing that made me delete it is the fact that in ICS it opens their own search app when you press the search button. When I had Gingerbread, it was all great, it always opened Google Search when pressing the Search button.
Is there a way to change this without rooting the phone?
I've got ICS 4.0.3
And if there isn't a way to change this, are there any good Go Launcher alternatives? The LauncherPro seems cool but I can't stand it that it can't swipe the drawer menu horizontally.
Thanks

[APP]SwipePad + Launcher Pro = INFINITY

First of all, I'm not a developer. I'm just here to show a little trick I found to make your daily usage faster and more convenience. And this is my really first thread, please give me some suggestions to make my thread better, thanks!!
As the title of the thread showed, I'm going to introduce you 2 very famous apps which are SwipePad and Launcher Pro (nope, I'm not asking you to change your launcher, keep read it and you'll know ;p)
In fact, I'm not only here to recommend, but combining functions of the two apps and make it both better!!
If you used to be a Launcher Pro user, you should know there are a very useful shortcut/widget in it, which called Activity. (well, it is shortcut in prior ICS and widget in ICS and JB). With this Activity, you can just add a shortcut to a specific process of an app right to your home screen. Means that you may just go to the activity without entering the app, and click tons of button to reach it. For example, linking the shortcut to the Memory Usage under the Setting section, will bring you to the Ram Usage page with one click.
And here is the trick, I'm a frequent user of Dictionary in my phone. And the YouDao Dict is my most favourite apps, so by using the SwipePad and Activity shortcut of the Launcher Pro, I add a shortcut of the QuickDict Activity(com.youdao.dict.activity.QuickDictActivity) into the SwipePad. And I can access to the dictionary with just a swipe and release, in anywhere!!
Of course, this is just an example of using it, there are a tons of activities under the each application you installed to your phone. Look for the apps you use the most and find a make sense activity that seems useful to you and try it.
And the most important part, the apps is both free and you may just use the functions I mentioned without buying any add-on.
PS: Hit thanks if you find this useful. Thanks:cyclops:
Nova and Apex launchers have the activity shortcuts as well.
oh really?
should give them a try shortly.
I believe Holo Launcher allows activity shortcuts as well...

anycut is available on play store? Tried searching anycut in play store but could not find it. I am using "direct cut" app which is for creating and organizing direct dial/message and email shortcuts.
LauncherPro was abandoned by its developer a year and a half ago. I wouldn't even know what the best Android 2.x style launcher is right now, but I don't particularly care for them. Holo Launcher works on Gingerbread, and I have Nova Prime for when I'm on Jelly Bean. Both do shortcuts. Shortcuts to app activities, contacts, individual settings pages, etc. If you have SoundHound (free, or paid) you can create a shortcut to "ID Now". Don't go into SoundHound, it's in the top-level shortcuts. I just have that, rather than the app, in my music folder. But I think the shortcut thing isn't a launcher feature; I believe it's actually an Android feature. Is that incorrect? Can you not create shortcuts in any Android version's stock launcher, or the mods like TouchWiz, Blur, etc.? In other words, it's not a premium feature, it's just a feature.

yeah I put a "ID Now" shortcut in my SwipePad List as well!!
But half of the list of SwipePad are linked to direct call. Haha
No I don't think TouchWiz and Blur has it cause I once uninstall Launcher Pro from my phone and I couldn't find Activities shortcut from anywhere.
Btw, putting Clipper+ on the SwipePad is useful too.. No need to insert my email again and again. Oh ya, neither my home address.

how do you add the shortcut to SwipePad? I created a shortcut to activity but couldnot find a way to add it to SwipePad
just swipe to the portal you want and hold until you see it turn orange colour, then choose Shortcuts -> Activities -> and choose whatever activity you want and you're done
but there is no activity or shortcut that I created before using launcher. there are just few activities, not as much as I see when use launcher
yeah i'm using swipepad too, its a great app for shortcut.

do you have launcher pro, nova launcher or apex launcher install in your phone?
you can still using your default launcher, you just need either one of these launcher mentioned to be install in your phone in order to use the feature that i said.
i use Adw launcher. I can create shortcut to activity using Adw launcher. However, I cant assign this shortcut to swipepad
hmm...it's a different "shortcut" we're referring to.
for that i cant help out, coz SwipePad has its own shortcut and not support other launcher's shortcut.
and the shortcut we're talking about is separate thing, which are more specifically named Activities.
Here you go the screenshot.

[Q] [CM 10.1/Trebuchet] How to Rearrange Homescreens?

I just rooted and installed CyanogenMod 10.1.3RC1-D2VZW on a new Galaxy S3 this weekend. Everything went well, but this is my first exposure to using Trebuchet launcher. Two really basic things that it can't seem to do, or I can't figure out how to do it yet.
1) Rearrange homescreens. On other launchers I've used, there's usually a pinch gesture that will bring up an option to reorder the home screens. I can't find any such option in Trebuchet and I've searched this forum and can't find any discussion of this functionality. I increased my homescreens from 5 to 7 and now I want to rearrange their order, but it does not appear possible in Trebuchet 1.0, is that true?
2) Adding Application shortcut. I've added a couple extra dock pages, and would like to add an Application drawer shortcut to each one, but that does not appear to be possible either. I searched and found the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086465
And there is no real solution for that either.
Seems like two basic omissions in Trebuchet to me, but I can't find any documentation on Trebuchet 1.0 either, so maybe I'm just missing something. Can anyone advise? Thanks!
For your first question usually hitting the home button while on the home screen will bring up your pages for rearranging. For your second question i do not think it's possible. I recommend you go grab Nova Launcher never look back. It will do both of those things you want and much much more. It's in the play store.

Unfortunately no. Pressing home button while on the home screen doesn't bring up a screen rearrangement interface in trebuchet. I've installed ADW launcher as a workaround, huh it seems like a pretty crazy omission in trebuchet. Maybe I'll try nova also, never used that launcher before.

Nova and Apex look exactly like Trebuchet but with more features. Nova is the smoothest of the 3 IMO.

I did create another page in home screen by dragging the icon to the right, without leaving the former empty...

One UI Home launcher - Gesture to launch Sesame shortcuts?

I know this isn't specifically related to the Fold2, but given its unique two-screen implementation, I'm trying to stay away from Nova Launcher and stick to the stock One UI home launcher, as it permits different setups on each of the screens which I think is key.
Anyway, I've relied so heavily on Nova Launcher for little things like two-finger swipe down to trigger a Sesame search (e.g. launch any app without having in on a home screen), I'm having a hard time replicating some of this.
Right now, I'm having to put a Sesame widget on each screen, but has anyone found a Gesture App that will enable my to do a two-finger swipe down to trigger an app launch (e.g. Sesame) with the stock One UI launcher?
Yes, I know I can swipe up from the bottom to get to the app drawer and then do a search, but that's more clicks because you have to click on the field for the app search, whereas with sesame you click on the widget and it's right in the text search box with the keyboard ready (little things...!)
Otherwise I'm still on the learning curve of One UI home since I've literally never used it across S7, S10+, S20+ ugh....

I use FNG https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid and have a swipe up from the side of the phone trigger sesame.
You can set it up really any way you want i just prefer having the gesture similar to getting access to the app drawer.

Thanks, not quite what I want, and I guess you need the Pro version to pick a specific app...but appreciate it nonetheless.
Answering my own question...this doesn't quite meet the requirement in terms of it being a two-finger swipe down gesture, but Samsung's own *free* One-Hand Operation + allows you to assign any app to a single-finger swipe in from left or right (yes, it conflicts with gestures from one side but I always swipe back on the right anyway). Confirmed working with Sesame - yay!
