I just got my replacement phone from T-Mobile and I wanted to know if it was possible to make a nandroid of my screen damaged phone over to my new replacement.
I tried making the nandroid back up and then wiping everything on the replacement and restoring, however none of my apps are there, all of my texts are there, but it's like the ROM isn't fully restoring and I have to first time set up the phone when it boots up after restore. Any help?

I have Iced 1.1.4, by accident I wiped all my apps and data when upgrading to it so I wanna go back to my backup of nandroid before to get all my stuff back.
I wiped cache and data and tried to restore the backup, but when I reboot it stays stuck on the MyTouch 4G splash screen. I've searched the forums and haven't found much of a solution for this. Any help would be great, thanks.
BTW battery is at 100%
try giving it a few minutes to load up
yes, I would recommend giving it a few minutes before loading up. Typcially on first boot it can take a few minutes. Only issue I have ever ran into with nandroid is when I renamed it and left a space, had to rename it again and was fine.
Been looking for hours on the forums but have not been able to find anything related.
I started working with the toolkit today and I manage to root my Nexus 4.
I did a backup before hand as I know everything gets deleted.
After rooting I tried to restore 1. the back up and 2 the backup to my sd card.
While restoring the back up, when restoring the quicksearch box for google, the app stop respoding and it gave me an error message and the option to report and top the app.
When I did stop the app, the restoring process got stuck there for an hour and nothing happened. I wiped the phone and started again to restore and the same thing happened. after a few minutes it appear like the restoring process ended but I didnt see all my apps there and it kept crashing.
Anoother thing is that I wasnt able to find the restore data from my sdcard either.
Has anybody seen any similar issue like this.
thanks,
Yesterday I went through the process of rooting, unlocking and flashing my GS3. I used CWM to make a backup of my stock rom (which I then saved a copy on my computer) and then flashed to Paranoid Android, which I loved. I used Titanium Backup to load my contacts up, and got prompted with a reboot. Once I did, I kept getting android.process.acore errors, and eventually narrowed it down to Titanium and my contacts (wasn't hard, only thing installed). I decided to flash to stock and backup my contacts to Google, but everytime I enter CWM recovery to restore, it reboots before I have a chance to. Both entering via Rom Manager and into recovery mode. I have used a downloaded stock rom to try and flash back to stock in Odin, and continually get error messages. I would just stick with PA, but every 5 seconds brings up a android.process.acore error because it is still trying to DL my contacts. Anyone have any ideas/hints/tips/etc that I should try?
Nevermind, finally found a stock rom that worked for me.
Update: It turns out it was not a software problem, and had nothing to do with my root, CWM, or PA. After flashing to stock, the problem persisted, even after a full reset and update to 4.1.2. Took the phone to Best Buy, since that is where I have my insurance through. They told me that the power button had gone faulty, which makes sense cause pressing it will prompt power off options, and slightly touching it will lock the phone. According to the guys there, it's a problem they've seen on a few S3's lately. So, I have a refurb on the way via Geek Squad. I jokingly asked for a S4 or One as a refurb replacement, but sadly don't think that'll happen. Anyway, figured i'd update this to let everyone know just in case you encounter the same symptoms.
I made a full nandroid backup on twrp about a week ago which included every option including EFS, when I went to (fully) restore the backup due to a faulty ROM it got stuck at 36% and wouldn't continue, I left it overnight to see if it would work and it did not, so I pulled the battery out and went to re run the restore but it has dissappeared, it wasnt on my SD card anymore and I couldn't figure out what had happened so I restored a different backup that only included data, system, and recovery, and when I booted my phone it said it was in Factory mode right away, but it didn't have the yellow text in the background, I have access to my cellular network but when I turn WiFi and then open an app that uses it, the phone instantly shuts off, I was reading online that the EFS was corrupt but the whole folder was empty, not a single file in it. I can't find anyone else who had the same problem and would greatly appreciate any help, I'm quite desperate to get this fixed

Good luck!
Please help. Had pacman running great, thought that I could go back to my previous ROM and use titanium backup to backup game data so I don't have to start over. I made a backup right before going to my po previous ROM. Needless to say I couldn't get the game data. When I restored pacman,it was glitchy.programs would not open or just quit .so I figured reinstall start over. I get the rom loaded and I make a mistake on which backup to restore apps from. So. I pull battery do it again, but it wasn't right more of the same problems. So I figured just use the factory reset feature in pacman to start over. I do it and leave the room. When I come back the twrp screen would come on then turn off then turn back on infinitum. What can I do if twrp just flashes and I many get in.
