ok guys... i dont have time to make u guys an odex rom.... but here is the OTA file...
my wife's phone is unrooted so i just downloaded the OTA zip using her phone.
u can flash it but u will lose root... so if u know how to extract it to use in your rom go for it... i dont have time today.
on a good note though... now we all know exactly what got updated.

and u right.... i didnt notice the radio image in it... but i think its still the same one.
S-Off is definettly still there.. I have the Radio, PRI, RA recovery and Wimax in an update file that I am uploading now just as soon as I test it.

i dont think u can flash it on a custom rom... the update-script is loking for specific files that should be there... and the rom should be deodexed...
this is an update that will work for people who have a stock odex rom.... but can be extracted to update other roms and such.

If you used Unrevoked Forever (S-Off) then you still have access to flash custom recoveries to flash the Super User app.

Ok, I DL'ed the OTA but have not been able to install. it starts up then I get a triangle with an ! in the middle and a little green guy. how can I install the zip in this thread...or more to the point can i?
I'm new to this stuff, I just rooted 2 a day ago.

u need to have a stock odex rom.... with nothing taken out of it... just like u got it from the store.... otherwise this update zip will probably fail.

I'm on the stock Froyo build that using the unrevoked method had. Which from what I understand is just what ever was already on the phone...just rooted.

Here is the 4.53.651.1 OTA I pulled off my phone last night. it has the lastest superuser.apk included and it is completely stock no modifications done to it at all. I have included a link to a deodex version and a odexed version.
Any feedback on how they run is appreciated and any questions are welcomed.
deodex version I have tested the odexed version I have not.
Update:
This doesn't flash the new radio yet, I will be adding it here soon so please be patient while that is done.

Ok I have uploaded a PC36IMG.zip to flash via hboot to upgrade you to the newest radio, just upload it to the root of your sd-card and reboot into hboot and make sure to choose yes when it asks.

Here are the steps I took to achieve this OTA if anyone is curious
Bought new evo to replace my epic
Ran revolution to obtain s-off
flashed amon_ra
booted to recovery made nand backup
flashed su*.apk (beta4)
rebooted phone
pulled boot.img out of the nand backup
ran adb pull /system/ /OTA
deodexed it to create a deodex version
put together the odex and deodex verions
No need to PM an Evo forum mod. I frequent the Evo forums daily, purely based on the fact that there is ALWAYS a thread that needs cleaned due to certain individuals acting like a bunch of kids.
So please, lets keep the discussion civilised and on topic.

Sweet, thank you for your feedback glad everything flashes fine.
For those of us that are not interested in this rom, should we flash the new radios anyway? Using Synergy as my Main rom and others with Boot Manager.

I recommend it as after I flashed the new radio when taking the OTA my 3g speeds actually increased a lot I was only getting 240KB now im getting anywhere from 700KB-1.2MB.

I'm working on a custom rom right now that will have sense 2.1 with lockscreen 3.0 with the messaging apk from sense 3.0, it's based off the latest OTA with bloat removed a few mods added like 4-in-1 boot and battery %

As far as flashing a radio make sure your on a sense rom, there and plenty to choose from. You have to have S-Off otherwise it wont work. Put the PC36IMG file on the root of your sdcard, boot into bootloader and follow the instructions. Update profile/prl after the radio updates.

You should be able to, I installed it over my stock Australian 3.4.42-145 Froyo.
All you need to do is after flashing the sense rom, as the phone is rebooting go into bootloader and flash fixed sbf with RSD from this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10982996&postcount=13
This worked for me.

this is abandonware, last build is dated from february, this is stopped for almost a year, and dont flash this more than 1 time, it burns the flashlight, i was one of the betatesters involved on this. My suggestion is: dont run this.

I already had a burnt flash, was just curious to see what it looked like. Found it was a bit laggy on my defy.
Have since gone back to alternating between CM7 & MIUI.

Hello Everyone!
This is kinda sorta really late, but here is the flashable, rooted version of the latest stock rom update!
Flashing this will get you to 1.55.531.3, without the trouble of having to gain root permission again. Keep in mind that this rom will maintain everything that a stock rom would have, including the bloats. I will upload a version w/o bloat soon.
Report back if there's any problems!

do you have the new radio already? this ROM was made to run with the new radio, but it will not install the radio. i am curious to see how this runs when people flash it with the old radio... (could run just fine, we've just never had the chance to see it done )
also you could flash the new radio, but this could be a problem if you decide to flash back to an older custom ROM, as people have reported random reboots with the new radio on the older ROMs.

that would be a really cool new way to root! probably won't work, as it likely won't pass the signature check in stock recovery. shouldn't hurt to try, it would probably just not let it flash.

Just scored this phone for my little brother. The little amount of ROMs in the 4G Slide community surprised me.
I want him to have a full experience so I'm going to flash this ROM, I don't like how every other ROM has things here and there not working - specifically no 1080p video.

Well, this is a zip, not a pd.img, so booting into recovery or fastboot wouldn't work anyways. OP, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is only for people with s-off, root and clockwork mod installed.
I can't wait for the debloated.

Unfortunately, yes. This is for people who are currently s-off who want to go back to the new version of stock without going through the trouble that's described here.
I'm getting constant reboots, not sure if due to the new Radio I flashed, or this ROM.

Try reflashing first. If that doesn't solve the issue, revert back to the original radio. I'm currently using this rom right now and I haven't had a reboot yet. Or maybe it's a YMMV thing

I'll do that tomorrow too. The individual items SHOULD be able to be re-added using bloater... Though, I believe some of those apps can be found on market as well.

Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on Latest TWRP to enjoy this ROM. No other recoveries supported however they may work.
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster

I'm transitioning careers, buying a new home, and moving across multiple states... So, I wouldn't count on it right now.
On the positive side. This gives everyone the motivation to learn how to use fastboot... A knowledge that should precede flashing ROMs anyways. :laugh:

Recently updated bootloader to 04-05 ("fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flo-flo-04.05.img") still staying on 4.4.4 KTU84P, waiting for 5.1.1+Xposed.
