I know I can use something like widgetlocker but I'd like to completely replace the lockscreen with that of AOSP ICS in the chinese leak, mostly because it performs better than using a lockscreen replacement. Any ideas on how that can be done?

Hi everybody. I'm running CM6 on my milestone. So far I've been very pleased with it. Yet, I really like the MIUI lockscreen, which beautifully gives you direct access to phone and messaging. Can someone port that lockscreen to CM? Or is there anyway I can have something like that, except from using widgetlocker, which is kind of ugly to me? Thanks a lot

If you're using CM, there's an option to have that. just go to CM settings, then input settings. Check the option for phone and messaging under 'lockscreen settings'. Just don't use rotary as your locksreen style.
what I mean is the whole gorgeous look of it

I asked this a while back, and some folks told me that the miui lockscreen was built into the miui framework and therefore unable to be ported to other roms.
That's most likely still the case. You should just install miui, its a great rom.

Is there any way to get the stock android lockscreen on a sense rom without the bug where you have to unlock the screen first before you see who is calling? I like sense but hate the lockscreen. Can anyone help?

Are you on a custom rom or stock? You can try widget locker.
Yeah. WidgetLocker's the way to go. It's worth the price.
Not sure if any other roms have it, but romannb's bulletproof has stock lockscreen, as well as his honeycomb lockscreen without the answer bug.
Edit: and no, there is no easy way to port it to whatever rom you want.

After using it for a day I just could not accept the tw launcher and had to install ics launcher.
Just wondering if anyone has found the touchwiz launcher useful and if so why?
If you ditched it which launcher did you go to?

TW ruined the ICS that's all I can say.

It's not a terrible launcher.... Just boring. Not very customize-able. I have and will always use an aftermarket launcher. AdW eX to be exact.
I am using Nova Launcher. I have had no issues with it so far.

Even though I dont have ICS yet (****ty Rogers), I definitely agree with hawk
I was looking for a nexus experience but didnt want to get a galaxy nexus.
Thats why i would recommend Nova Launcher, Ive watched enough videos
I'm neutral, just looks like plain old touchwiz to me. Like the one we've always had, And I think we expected that. But with the added multitasking features And other added features its beem a pleasurable experience so far And I'm thourghly enjoying it.

I just grabbed some AOSP .apks and shoved them into an early alpha #-8 preview of NexusMod ICS...i'm working hard on making this look vanilla

I would definitely love you if you get it vanilla. I hate touchwiz, most useless software ever.
BTW you got any ETA as to when its coming out?
I ditched it for Apex. Much nicer.
I've always used launcher pro, so i'm super used to it. I just have it set up to have an ICS feel to it using this guide. I've had this for a while now, but now I actually have true ics

This is what it turns out to look like. Not too shabby, b/c I don't really like Nova or Apex that much.

Yea, the touch whiz completely ruined ICS for me. I had ICS running on my Inspire 4G before I upgraded to the Skyrocket, which was aosp ICS. I could definitely see all the differences straight away, and was quite underwhelmed by the ICS leak. I think some of the best parts of aosp ICS are missing. I used apex launcher for a while to try to make it a bit better, but in the end, went back to my NexusMod 4 backup.
Looking forward to some vanilla ice cream goodness.

Besides the launcher (which I ditched and bought Nova instead), I don't know what else is TW. I have no experience with ICS till today's flash-fest, so it all seems good to me (minus the TW launcher).

I've just recently started looking into rom development myself and if I thought I could help yet id offer but I'm not there yet. Keep us posted on how you're doing! I know I'm watching the dev section like a hawk!

+1 fpr apex. I use apex on my galacy nexus and now my skyrocket as well
The thing that annoys me most about TW on ICS is that they got rid of the settings button in the notification pull down. Like... WHAT THE **** SAMSUNG?

They also hobbled the lock screen. AOSP ICS allows for many music players to have controls on the lock screen. Samsung only supports it's own music player to have controls on it's TW lock screen. I just don't get it, why take away features?
On top of that to still not add a widget (since you are forced to use the stock TW music player to have lock screen controls) for the TW music player is just stupid. Makes you wonder how thought out TW is.
I'm trying to combine a smooth ics lockscreen wile using launcher 7 The only working one I've found has been the one from go locker but it requires me to also install go launcher and would have running 2 launchers + the stock 1 that would mean a lot pointless ram usage
I found this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ics.go.locker.theme&feature=search_result
At first it seemed perfect but it has a lot of bugs like pone wakes up randomly ads on notification and that BS.
Not sure if I'm posting on right thread or if this belongs in general.
Using Hellfire Phoenix 2.1
Have you tried widget locker?

I wanted to but I'm not willing to pay for something I can't even try first tried getting it cracked but no luck. and the mi locker one is prety damn ****y not to mention home button bypasses the lock and the lock screen isnt as fluid as it should be.
Guess I'll just have to wait for an update from the one I posted.
Widget locker is probly the best lockscreen replacement I've tried so far...
Pin it to Win it.
I used to do exactly what you're talking about, launcher7 and i used widget locker. Super customizable. I'm not running launcher7 anymore because i wanted a more ics feel but I'm still using widget locker.

This may be old news for a lot of a people, but since I can't find any mention of it in the G2x Forums, then I figured there were probably still enough people who don't know about it to warrant a new thread.
If you're like me and got tired of the instabilities of ICS roms and switched to a GB one, but missed the look and feel of ICS, then here is your answer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636393
Holo Launcher works for 2.2 and above. I've been running it on top of HFP 2.2 for 3 days with no problems. It does a great job of giving you an ICS feel on your GB ROM and also features pinch previews and scrollable docks. I recommend using this with a rom that supports Theme Chooser to fully customize your device and really get that Sandwich feel (or whatever other feel you want )
thats pretty cool, gonna try this when i get home, thanks for posting this!
I've been using it for 2 days and it is nice and gives the same exact feel of stock launcher of 4.0.4 without the lag haha, I wish Widgets would work but it is only a beta ;-)

Widgets are working for me. Just not in the ICS style of pulling them from the app drawer, which is not a huge deal for me.

Only if it had lock screen gesture and delete/uninstall apps directly from the app drawer. The two things that won't let me go of the Golauncher.

My current rom supports lockscreen gestures (I use them frequently). And if you hold down on an app from the app drawer, drag it to the delete/trash icon, and hold it there, it turns into an uninstall icon. Note: this only works with downloaded apps and not system apps.***
Oh.. and I appreciate thanks, but if you try the launcher and like it, please show your support and thanks to dev in the original thread linked in the OP. Thanks!
Its Ok, doesn't compare to ADW with the ICS Sqrd paid theme is smooth silky Butter!
I tried this before, it's not bad but I'd rather use GO Launcher EX with an ICS theme. It's just way smoother for my phone.
