Hi all,
Newb here so please be gentle!.
I have recently bought an HTC Sensation XL Beats edition, i shortly rooted it but i believe it only to be a temporary root until rebooted. Anyway I need to send it back for repair and was wanting to know if the data below confirms its no longer rooted as im worried it will void my warranty if it still is...
The boot screen shows:
*** Locked ***
RUNNYMEDE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.25.0004
RADIO-3822.10.10.12_M
eMMC-boot

Does the above show enough to confirm or deny that im ok to send it back?
Would really appreciate advice.. thanks!.

If you don't see superuser in your app, that suppose to be not rooted.
I don't know about the Sensation, but with my Hero if I reinstall a stock rom trough the HTC software my phone will go back to the previous unrooted status, simple as that.

Can any one of you guys tell me (remind me), how the stock, unrooted, warranty undisturbed bootloader looks ?

So, is this phone warranty good ?
I totaly forgot how does it looks, i sold my Sensation so i dont know ..
Thanks once again folx
I would think the stock bootloader has 'S-ON'
Yep you need S-on
That's how my girlfriend's Desire looked like before rooting. I guess the sensation should look similar to that
mine looks similar to yours except min is s- on, but it have been rooted ect!!
Hi all. I'm pretty much a DIY girl, rooted my Android phone last year with Revolutionary, and made it S-ON again yesterday so I can apply the updates, which has been long delayed considering the ICS and latest Sense are here and I still got Gingerbread and sense 2.1. I'm not sure though if I was successful in unrooting my phone. Here's what comes up when I press and hold volume-down and power:

When I try to install the system update, it turns off the phone and bring me to the fastboot/hboot white screen (you know what I mean), and I don't know how to continue from there so I just reboot my phone and return to its old software. I even tried to factory reset it but the same thing happened (Oh no, even the factory reset doesn't work now!). How do I get past this?
Just to note, I tried to make a gold card and install 5 different RUU... I just get "ERROR 131 CUSTOMER ID ERROR".
Please help me. I will be SO grateful. Thank you!
Hi all,
I have bought a HTC Desire S on Ebay and it came with ICS 4.03 and Sense 4.0A called Fallout Evolution V4.3.0.
I was under the impression this was an official release from HTC but after checking I discover it wasn't. The seller does know how to restore the phone but I got it for a great price so don't want to get a refund.
I'm not interested in putting custom stuff on my phone so would like to restore it to HTC official software. A friend told me to come on here and ask and to give the boot loader information..
Mine says:
***UNLOCKED***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 2.00.0002

If I click Recovery I get the HTC logo then a screen with "4EXT Recovery v2.2.7 RC5"
Can someone please help me restore my phone as I have found the original Android I need:
"RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.rar"
But don't want to run the file untill I've done whats needed to prevent my phone for becoming a brick.
Thanks
Please read the front page and look for a thread with title that matches what you want to do. Read it, and read the other thread on or near the front page it's pointing to. You can also read the sticky guide it's pointing to, referenced in sticky INDEX thread.
And after you find the answer to your question in such close proximity, please consider searching before posting next time.
Ypu can use my method. Check my sig on downgrading. Download the RUU that is best for your phone. You should ask from the seller if the phone is branded or not. Everything you need is in the forum. Just use search.

Skanob do I follow all you guide or just the final bit Locking the bootloader & Downgrading? or do I start at Modifying the version of your phone?
The only reason I ask is my friends unrooted phone says
***LOCKED***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 2.00.0002
and mine says UNLOCKED. Also your guide says goto htcdev.com/bootloader and when I do it says Unlocking your bootloader which I assume has been done already?
Or is there a way to install the HTC RUU on my so it runs like a custom ROM? all I want it the official HTC software I've no warranty issues to worry about?
Sorry for what may seen as stupid questions but I'm not very technical and never messed with phones before, just trying to sort it.
Yours is already unlocked and with custom recovery and rom. Im pretty sure the rom is already rooted. You just need to find out if your mmc is a goldcard. Then download the correct ruu. Start from changing misc verson.

Skanob all I can say is a huge THANK YOU
I followed what you posted and worked perfectly, once again thank you for everything :victory:
I rooted my HTC Sensation a few months ago and I could not get custom ROMS to go past there boot logo screens so I re-installed on carrier/factory ROM from a back up on the phones SD card. I originally wanted to do this to get JellyBean on my phone has HTC'S interface is a little ugly.
The problem is I want to install the latest system up date from my service provider but none of the RUU's I find for my Bell Mobility(Prymid_BM) phone are of the same version so it tells me I have the incorrect RUU, I want to install the system update but I cant because my phone is no longer stock. What els can I do to get my phone back to completely stock so carrier updates work forever and always.
My firmware version is 3.33 and all the BM RUU's i find are of and older version there for wont work
I have looked here for RUUs but there always to old:

I want my HTC Sensation on bell mobility to be completely stock so if you can help me please do so and give detailed answers so I'm not googling for hours like I already have been. What are my options, because as it stands right now services on my phone keep crashing and I have to keep telling it no don't report it to HTC, happens ALOT.

May have over looked something but wanted to reset my HBOOT loader to stock for warranty sake. As my phone has some physical damage as well as camera not working. Is there a way to get back s-on locked boot loader status and normal stock CID back. I had up dated boot loader once i believe and so have red developer text. This is a HTC One X (Not ONE XL) AT&T phone. If there is away to do all that I will do it. Well thanks for any response and for taking the time to read this and yes I seen a way to get locked status back on HTC one X but don't know about the other stuff and want to do this properly. Than ks again.
