Recovery Image - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I have 2 the same tablets see specs below;
SAWEE PAD 10A
Device
Brand: generic
Manufacturer: unknown
Model: wwe10
CPU Hardware: IMAPX200
CPU: ARM v6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l)
CPU-ABI: armeabi
RAM: DDRII 256MB
OS
VERSION: ERE27
RELEASE: 2.1-update1 V2.6:#3682
KERNEL: 2.6.32.9
SDK: 7
FIRMWARE: eng.infotm-sqa-desktop #78
DISPLAY
DIMENSIONS: 1024x600
DENSITY: Medium (160 dpi)
LOGICAL DENSITY: 1.0
DPI X: 159.5681
DPI Y: 160.42105
By StartUp; It shows on the right side under screen 6.3.2.(677)
One of the tablets could not startup and has no recovery image anymore.
Then I use “flash10.1-android2.2.rar” to flash, this works only I have to switch off the
Auto-rotate-screen because of wrong rotation. Also Wifi works but disconnect many times.
My question; is there a way to get the recovery image from the good working tablet, or where I can find it inside the tablet.
At the moment I’m busy to copy all the files of the good working tablet, it takes day’s before the copy is finish, but from there I can check on my laptop or I can find some recovery image or maybe make from the whole bunch an image.
Who can help me out of here.

1. Rooting the Mi700 DroidPad
Thanks to "Abasir" for the previous instructions (1st rooting instructions). Lityen has written down an updated and concise method:
Rooting the Mi700 just got a whole lot easier. I used the latest version of SuperOneClickv1.5.5.
1. Extract file content.
2. Unmount SD card. Essential for the process to be successful.
3. Connect device.
4. Run Setup from "CD-ROM".
5. Run SuperOneClick.
6. Click Root and it's all done.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Original BOOT IMAGE by Abasir:
Attached in this post (below) is a copy of it, should you want to recover the original ROM.

To All User Of MI700 Who Have Rooted..
You need to boot into clockwork recovery mode and perform backup from there..
By the way please flash a new Clockwork recovery 2.5.1.2...
copy it to the root of your sdcard..
Copy flash_image
if you already have the flash_image skip this
if not download this flash_image.zip unzip it and copy it to the root of your sdcard..
on Terminal Emulator (make sure you hold it in portrait position)

I am a proud owner of the CSL Droidpad, bought it in Low Yat KL for RM1699, paid extra RM100 for upgrading the SD card to 16G. Read your review, pretty impressive stuff given the short time span of 1/2 hour with the unit.
After using for about 2 weeks, I am quite satisfied with it's performance given the budget price I am paying for it. Web browsing is very snappy, no lag and fast, love it except I cannot find Flash in the Market. Maybe I try Adobe website first as it is still in beta phase for android.
The camera is a big letdown, IMO as it is useless it low light condition, but then again a cheap and proper camera should out perform even the high end hand phone cameras.
For games, I a surprised that It gave a superb performance playing Need For Speed Shift, really enjoyed the experience.
Hope someone here could provide assistance in rooting this device as my internal phone memory is down to 50M.

Hey, good for you I think you can load Flash unto it, but you will need some technical knowledge to do that.
Oh, one more thing, some have pointed out to me that this is the exact same product as the Camangi FM600 and the Viewpad 7. So if you can find any development forums or developers doing work on them, it will also work nicely on the DroidPad. Have you tried shifting your apps to SD (possible under Froyo)?
Thanks.
Technical knowledge? I am a noob so have to wait for the sifus to try first then I learn from them.
Thank for the info of the other two same models, I keep a look out for it. Hope this thread will come to life with some sifus here owning and experimenting on this device. Yes, I have shift some app to SD card but sad to say most app don't support SD card storage so u can't shift it. Luckily for me the Dolphin HD browser supports shifting cos the memory needed is whopping huge.

Hmm... actually CSL is the first company to release that version of the device. Still do not know who is the ODM yet. Anyway, I would love to see CyanogenMod running off this device.
Any developers interested in this device?
hi there
i'm the first in my town to owned this awsome gadget as i am a mobile phone dealer and been following closely to Samsung Galaxy Tab but when my CSL reseller showed me this 7" droidpad with the pinch to zoom feature and quite high processor built in . i fell in love with it. As i'm using HD2 running on froyo this bigger screen really what i wanted so far .
Really appreaciate if any developer out there interested in cooking ROMs , providing Root guide, or App2 Sd guide and not to forget Flash(as informed by CSL techical staff that current version cant support flash)
wth ?!! my damn HD2 with the same froyo 2.2 can jus run it like that .

Good to hear that... actually, the Apps2SD is available under Froyo too... just that you have to manually do it and only for certain apps that support that function. Anyway, you are right... I wish more developers would support this budget tablet, but then again, how many developers are actually Malaysians who can get their hands on this?
I will try to root it when I get my hands on the review unit next week, but in the meantime, have you tried all the rooting methods available to similar devices (using the same CPU) like HTC Legend and Aria?
just to post some info from CSL Mi700
from the terminal emulator, cat /proc/cpuinfo gives:
#############################
processor : ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v61)
BogoMIPS: 599.65
Features: swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java
CPU implementer : 0x41
CPU architechture : 6TEJ
CPU variant : 0x1
CPU part : 0xb36
CPU revision : 5
Hardware : QCT MSM7x27 SURF
##############################
so that's ARM11, not cortex A8, i think that means no Flash. but msm7227 include L2 cache and floating point unit; also adrena200 GPU. for 800x480 performance should be quite acceptable.
which market app give the best hardware info? i can try that and post the result here

Yeah, I realised that recently. However, I think we might still be able to put in Flash Lite, like what HTC put into Aria and Legend. They are running on Arm11 also. Cortex A8 is Arm7.
I think for now, the biggest issue is: how to root this phone? Once we can do that... we can try to access the bootloader and put in some custom ROMs
CSL Spice Mi700 / Viewsonic Viewpad 7 / Camangi FM600 / Olive Pad VT100
So far there isn't any way to root this device, 1-click or manually. Pls HELP!!

Thanks for maintaining the interest on the device. We really need help but none are forthcoming. I have sent some tweets to developers who had rooted devices before, but NONE of them have replied or even taken notice.
I hope maybe the rest of us might try to contact which ever developer that had rooted other devices, and ask for guidance to how to find access to root access. Thanks.

Hey, do you have Gmail chat? Can you please add me at erlern [at] gmail? Thanks.
Got my MI700 about 2-weeks ago and keen to root it too...
Don't know if this helps but here goes...
Pressing VolDown while power up brings up the following:
Enter FTM Mode...
SWVer=3.140
MODEL:FM6-0001
HWVer:103
Power on with pressing CAMERA and VOLUME_DOWN keys to leave Auto-FTM.
Pressing VolUp while power up brings up the following:
Flash Mem: SAMSUNG_K524G2GACB(4G/4G)
Modem REV: FXX-3-140-00
Incoming Download Mode
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1
polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1
non-stop
In both cases above, need to press the reset button to regain control...
Thanks. FTM means Field Testing Mode... the Model number is that the bootloader version? I have no idea... hmmm...

[Q] Problem with Auto rotate

I have some trouble with auto rotate of my screen, if it stay on auto rotate it turns every time to the wrong direction.
This happened after I flash a new firmware in with “flash10.1-android2.2.rar”.
This was necessary because my tablet did not start up and there was no recovery image.
Every thing works fine except auto rotate, I have to switch it to manual to keep it stable.
Is there some way to calibrate the auto rotate, or is there any app which can do this.

Need help with a soft-bricked Allwinner A33 tablet

I recently tried to flash a ROM to my Allwinner A33 tablet. Now, when I power it on, the screen is blank - backlit, but nothing else on the screen. My desktop is a Mac mini running OS X 10.11.4. These are the stats for my tablet (taken from "CPU-Z" app):

I've tried using adb and fastboot to push and flash files to my tablet, but adb returns an "error: no devices found" message, while fastboot gives me a "-waiting for any device-" message. Prior to the incident, when using the "./adb devices" command, it would return with "device: 033c1976d7f500000000".
I recently downloaded two files: from GitHub, a33_android_device_astar_master.zip; from chinagadgetsreviews, a33_599x_v90_800x480_gc038-gc0308_1211.img. I'm assuming that the latter file is the firmware for my device. Can either of these files be used to restore my system? If so, how, since it seems that I've bricked my tablet and it isn't recognized?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Costum Rom Rk3168 Empire Electronix Rockchip M1002B, Or backup stock rom?

Happy new year, in the first place!
I thought after reading and reading on inet...Gone try here to get a little bit further with a simple but brand new tablet i got from my mother.
That's also the reason why i don't throw it away, i thought lets see if there is a possibility to make it run better then with the stockrom.
And if there is no solution to flash it, what is the best way to backup the rockchip 3168 with 4.2.2 rom off the tablet itself?
Also to try other roms, i don't wane lose my bootloader etc.
Its a simple tablet, i know..But that's also why, i know it can run much better, especially if the ram is not eaten up too much.
I will put the specs down here:

Its a new tablet, but the hardware is older and because of that i thought lets see if i can get it maybe a little bit upgraded on the software side.
And if not, maybe another solution.
Therefore i searched a lot, but has anyone....Anyone maybe a direction to look for a maybe better rom. Also with cwm there is nothing what works with this chip, everything based on the maligpu400 or maybe also with the powerVr Sgx 540?
Other solution would be to backup the rom, and clean afterwards the stock rom.But i got stuck in how and what is the best way to do that.
I cant install Cwm recovery, when it installs it doesn't continue.
I also read that people lost their original bootloader, and because i cant find the stockrom online...What would be the best way to do that, i saw the app mtk, and the Rockchip tool but that seemed a lot off work and if i mess up my backup would never work.
Or is it the only way to back up this rom from Rockchip, a full backup kerel, loader etc..
And to try out a rom, install from sd card, and to get back on the stockrom a factory reset is all, or mess i up the recovery installing another rom?
If more info is needed about the chips, let me know.
Thanks ahead!:good:
Roberto.
