[Q] mb525 jrden u 97.21.51 sbf causing a loop - General Questions and Answers

I am new at this but have followed a few treads when tried to upgrade the rom on my defy to 2.2 from official motorola and the phone went dead. The only thing that worked was jrden 97.21.51 sbf when I flashed it using the rsdlite 5.3 the phone worked but i got a question mark? over the battery and it wont charge. So i used a mcgyver trick and the phone works again but with question mark on battery and not able to flash or upgrade any other rom. when i tried the recovery methode and tried to install cm7 or cm9 i get balck screen or only motorola logo. I rooted the phone using super one click and tried to use abf depacker without any sucess. can anyone give me a detail step by step guide how to get out of the loop with jerdn 97.21.51 sbf? Thanks it seems that many guys are having battery and loop problems.

[Q] Need official Motorola Droid X 2.2

i've rooted and flashed a few different roms to my phone and came across a problem. i got stuck in a bootloop after flashing a new rom to my phone.
data wipe does nothing and i can't figure out how to fix it. a friend suggested downloading offical stock rom and renameing it update.zip and running it in the recovery but i'm having trouble finding a stock rom for 2.2 droid x.
could anyone please point me in the right direction
Your going to need to SBF, there should be a guide for it in the DX forums. AFAIK you can't do it through recovery, you'll need to download the program and drivers to your computer.

i'm still a little new to this stuff. what is SBF?
i found a thread for it. but i either need to do it from recovery or from a computer and the phone has to be put on usb mass storage. my phone is stuck in a bootloop so if i can't do it from recovery, how can i do it at all?

[Q] Help with D2G stuck

I've got a D2G with Clockwork and Bootstrapper installed.
I tried to flash a version of CM7 (http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.1.0-DROID2WE-signed.zip), but I'm stuck at the 'M' logo. I used RSDLite 4.9 to root the phone, so I know I have the drivers installed, but now, I can't get my PC to recognize the phone to sbf.
I tried installing RSD5.0, but no dice. I tried deleting the data/cache from the bootloader, tried reinstalling CM7, but nothing. I have a back up image on my SD card, but it doesn't do me any good.
Any help is appreciated. I'm not sure what I can do.
RSDLite cannot be used to “root”. It's a tool that allows you to flash the factory flash image.
Have you entered the SBF loader? http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/SBF has instructions for this. You must boot the phone into the SBF loader for RSDLite to detect it.
The link to CM7 you posted above is most probably the Froyo build (for the old Froyo kernel of 2.4.x firmware) and won't work with the kernel from 4.5.x firmware.
Yea, sorry, I misspoke.. i rooted with 'Pete's Motorola Tools 1.06'.
I've got DROID2WE_X6_2.4.29_FULL.sbf, but I think I know my issue. I initially flashed to DROID2WE_X6_2.4.29_FULL.sbf to receive and install the new VZ OTA update of Gingerbread... I didn't flash back to Froyo before installing CM7 (I found instructions to do so AFTER I did the CM7 install attempt), which narsed the whole thing up.
So now, I can't get RSD to recognize the phone and no matter what I do with bootloader, it doesn't get past the 'M' logo.
Am I just **** out of luck? The phone is still under warranty, so I can get a replacement from VZ if I need to.
Do you mean that pulling battery and then pressing and holding power/lock button + up arrow key doesn't take you to SBF loader?
ugg. Yea, that worked. I feel like a total n00b now. I was pressing 'M' to run the factory reset, which of course wouldn't work.
I honestly wish there was a easily accessible wiki with RSD, flashing ROMs and rooting; the info is available in various locations, but some are missing info that others have, so it can be confusing to novices like myself.
Well, the link I posted describes how to boot into SBF loader. It also has instructions for CWM and stock recovery. Along with some info on CM7 installation.
I didn't bother to write an article on rooting yet, though.

RSD Failing? PLEASE HELP

Okay,
So, I was trying to downgrade to stock 2.3.5 using rsd lite so I could flash ICS. However, RSD gets stuck at 14/18 "flashing system.img" for like 45 minutes. I did replace the files needed to downgrade in the FXZ and all of that and followed the steps down to the period. PLEASE HELP ME!
When I unplug and pull battery and reboot, I get invalid CG version or something like that...
A month or two ago I had the same problem. In one of the new ics threads someone asked about a way they were worried about doing because it replaced the boot image and took off stock recovery. That way works. You can then fxz a second time to completely stock using regular methods and regaining stock recovery.
I'm at the park with my son but I found it with Google. Not gonna try from my phone. Good luck.

same problem
I have a similiar issue, I'm downgrading from SCV6 to 2.3.5, downloaded FXZ, unzipped, replaced files from replace.zip and started flashing through RSD Lite. Followed all directions on NOOBS guide. Now I am stuck at 14/18 flash system "system.img" for an hour at the moment. Is this normal? If its not, what should I do? Disconnect, don't disconnect? Close program, don't close? Don't wanna mess things up even more
EDIT: Now here's the weird part, I had to stop the application cause I went to work, so I closed RSD, disconnected the phone and rebooted it and... the system loaded, and the phone is working... which is weird because the flashing got stuck at 14/18. Now I have a dilemna, wheter to try to flash 2.3.5 again or wait for some advice from you guys
EDIT2: Second Flash did the trick, took like 10 minutes

[Q] Hi i want to reflash my moto razr v but im think i need some help here!

i got a chinese version of razr v(xt885) and now it simply cant boot (always stuck in the M picture) so i need to flash it
here i got several questions that not quite sure of
1. i already got it rooted using a batch file through adb but i find it unable to receive official ota update, so how can i just flash it to the factory state, i mean i want everything the same when i bought it. yes i got a official zip file, but what should i do to totally reset the phone? just get into the boot mode and connect the RSDlite and reflash it?
2. i want to flash the australian retail rom to use Google service。will there be any problem in the process?
3. i did some study on how to flash it using RSDlite. in many instructions people suggest you need to double wipe your phone. so why and when you need to do this?
4. since you cant remove the battery in xt885 so if you just stuck in the M logo when booting i will stay there untill battery worn up so will it be a problem while flashing?
i m a absolute newbie so any help will be appreciated! good day!

Phone dead, help needed!

Hello everyone!
Recently I have installed, Danik's ROM and Kernel on my Milestone 2, but I wanted to flash back the CM11 and the original Kernel. So I went to bootloader mode, and flashed the right sbf, but now the phone is dead... when I plug into computer, the white charge led lights but the screen is black, and Windows doesn't recognise the device.
What should I do, to get back to the roots?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
in case of big troubles, follow precisely in each step this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032372
to find RDSlite use google to avoid any driver/permission problem, if you can, use an old Win XP computer or a virtual machine.. let us know if it works..
thanks for the replies, I always use XP for flashing, because Win 8.1 isn't supported. Now the only problem is, that windows doesn't recognise the phone, I think the battery is too low, now I am trying to charge it up with an external charger... Anyway someone know what to do if I used Danik's kernel and I want the original back? I don't have to flash some kernel sbf or something like that before flashing the original rom with rsd lite?
Now if I connect the phone to the PC it recognises, but the screen is black. If I start flashing it with the right sbf, the phone screen shows the SW Update In progress screen, and when the flashing complete, the phone reboots, but always gets back to Bootloader mode with black screen
I think I have this BL version problem, because before bricking my phone the original rom was 2.2 AsiaRetail.. What should I try, I dont know what bootloader version installed last, but I read that this problem is caused when trying to flash a rom with an older bootloader than installed

hello, sorry for the late reply.. I hope I have understood your problem but if I'm wrong, tell me.. well, I always kept my MS2 to the first *.sbf version (froyo) to avoid problems but in your case, you may try using the latest *sbf (the gingerbread one) and then upgrade to the rom you want.. or, if you have upgraded you can try the downgrade procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497263
or, I have found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236296 have a read, it may be usefull..
