Hello,
I just got a mail from HTC Elevate saying:
Who here wants an ICE CREAM SANDWICH? We do! Hopefully you do, too. We're happy to announce the first round of software previews in HTC elevate and you are in the first group of folks who will be able to participate!
To get this rolling, we'll need you to tell us some information about your device. Once we have this info, assuming it's all 100% accurate, we'll be able to push ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) straight to you via HTC's software distribution server- like magic!
To get started, head into the ACTIVITY now.

Now, do i need to revert my phone back to stock for this or can i just do it with the current rom flashed?

well i think they will push ics via ota so you have to be s-on and unrooted...so you have to flash a RUU...

Reverted to stock a couple of days ago.
Today I nearly re-rooted to try Mike's new 3.30 base.
Glad I didn't now...though it looks like it may be next week before we get it

Ah ok thanks then, since it's 2am here and i'm really sleepy, can you quickly point me to the right topic on how to revert back please?
I hope it's not going to be a pain in the butt, otherwise ill have to do it 2morrow

My phone is s-off only , stock, not rooted, so I can't get ota updates with s-off?

flash stock rom...it will be sufficient...is your phone branded? if not flash the stock if yes i'm not sure what to do with the CID

I would say: just try! If you are elevated and received the mail, follow the procedure - with logcat turned ON - and try if you receive the OTA

have you s-offed with HTC dev method? anyway it is always better be stock and s-on to be sure

i would not try it if i am not sure...it can brick your phone...better s-on and stock

Seems the email contain bad link
If you get no permission, just go on Elevate homepage and press activities

No didn't use that method, just revolution, I'm not in the htcs elevate, just wondering for when released to all, seems tricky getting s-on again

I used revolutionary to s-off the phone.
Don't think Dutch Vodafone has branded phones, atleast not that i know..
Anyway, the update won't be for another few days

How would I go about doing this? Sorry new to this, had a galaxy s before, very different rooting, Flashing etc

OTA stands for O.ver T.he A.ir and yes, it does have to do with software. Sometimes when you have a smartphone, like a Sensation there are updates to your phone which consists of installing software via the OTA.

theres a beta test program called HTC elevate which is a closed group of 300 or so people, they registered their phones and got the OTA update that way, so its not a leaked RUU, its a final beta rom update before the main public ota release but you can bet its gonna be pretty much like this for final release..

[Q] HTC Sensation XE Stock RUU

Hi guys i have a sensation XE that has been running ARHD for about three months. A couple of my apps wont download from the market as it says not compatible with our device however they worked before i rooted and changed roms.
Now the ICS official update has been released by HTC i was hoping to return to stock And carry out the official htc ics update to see if that solves the problem with the aps If any knows how i do this please get in touch? i know i need an ruu but cant find one that works.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Those are test RUU not final release 3.32.401.5 (Sensation) and 3.32.401.105 (Sensation XE).
In order to get official OTA need to revert to stock GB rom with stock recovery and original CID. S-Off or S-On doesn't matter.
For the OP: if you are on a custom ICS rom and attempt to run a GB RUU will give you error.
You need to download the right RUU and extract rom.zip out of it. Rename rom.zip to PG58IMG.zip and flash it from bootloader.
If unbranded european, it should be RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.72.401.1

instead of going back to stock, why don't you go for the latest ARHD? Or even better the Viper with sense 4.
Both roms will offer you a better experience than stock.
Don't flash the RRU if you want to lose your S-off.

now you became clearly.you should have tell us in first place that your are still in 1.18 hboot version
check this one

also you are lucky because in your hboot version you can easily do S-OFF with revolutionary.io method

Yes, listen to the good advice - make an easy S-OFF first! :good:
Find an Android Forum in your own country and search there for a theme on "S-OFF HBOOT-1.18" and read in you own language. It is pretty easy! Trust me, you are quite lucky to have HBOOT-1.18 in these days. This is the easyest way to unlock your phone.:good:

Did you take a nandroid backup of your stock ROM? If yes then restore it.
If you didn't take a nandroid then you need to flash an RUU with a software number greater than yours and matching your cid and mid numbers

You can only flash an RUU if it is the same or higher software version because you are S-ON. 1.35 is lower than 1.77 so you can't flash it.

I need your cid number, boot into bootloader then connect to pc and download the fastboot files (they are available in one of ganeshp's guides) then open command prompt and cd to where the fastboot files are then:
fastboot getvar cid
Press enter then tell me the output

Or you could just download a gingerbread ROM and flash it, check malybru's dev host account, I'm pretty sure he has a copy of a gingerbread custom ROM on there...

they should work. If they dont then you need to flash the 3.32 Asia RUU - you CID is asian so only asian RUU will work

Hi All,
Currently running IC Evolution V2.0 Android version 4.0.3 with Sense 4.0.
Is there a way to revert back to the stock ICS telstra ROM as I would like to sell my phone.
Any tutorial would be great.

If you search this thread, you will find the RUU file (executable file that contains ROM, radio and firmware all in one). You just need to plug in, run the RUU and follow the prompts
You didn't specify your model so I'll point out that this is for the Sensation Z710A.

I had done this earlier as it was instructed by earlier posts. I went through all the prompts on the RUU file and tells me I have the wrong ROM.
Very confused, hope this gives you a better idea

Did you change your CID before flashing your custom ROM? You might have to change this back before running this RUU.

Not to sure.
Is there a link on how to do this. I'm new to all this stuff.

It is definitely a Telstra branded device.
I just managed to flash the above... Had to manually put it into boot loader... Now phone won't turn on completely, similar to previous issues hence having to take it back to Telstra..

[Q] How to Unroot HTC Sensation XE easily using RUU?????

Hello,
I'm in a big trouble with my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio mobile. I have rooted it yesterday, and now I can't update the software version or can't flash the stock rom using recovery. So to do that phone needs to be Unrooted. I found all over the internet but couldn't find a easy method.
I want to Unroot it using RUU method but I don't know how to find correct RUU for flash back to Stock rom.
I'm from Sri Lanka, Asia
HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
S-Off Rooted
Android 2.3.4 Stock GingerBread
Sense 3.0
Software Number - 1.73.401.4
Can anyone help me to find the correct RUU and Unroot the device??
