[Q] Native Email 3.0 not working in NexusM0d v2.0 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426590
And I can't get native email 3.0 to work anymore. When I try to log into my e-mail account it says "Retrieving account information..." then after about 60 seconds it will say "Connection failed". Anyone know how to fix this? I've been searching for the past week now.

Facebook Messenger (UK)

Anyone in the UK got it working? I've got the APK but can only get as far as the login screen and it throws up a wrong password error even though I know it's right so not sure if it's my security settings on my main account.
Working for me on both an Incredible S and a Wildfire.
They did both force close at exactly the same time tonight, and wouldn't log back in for half an hour or so (wrong password). At a guess this was something to do with the FB servers.
got it working but think it's rubbish. gonna stick to my usual messaging client

[Q] Email MS Exchange

Anyone able to use the stock email app without any problems? I can't access my work email with the stock app. I downloaded touchdown and it works without any problems, currently using the trial, $20 not worth it IMO.
No, i have no issues with Exchange using the stock app. I connect to Exchange 2003 so I can't speak for newer versions of Exchange. Do you get any error messages?
I get a cannot connect to server message. It's not a connection issue though, if I type my password wrong, I'll get a incorrect password message.

Hmm, so you have the correct domain\username, correct mail server, checked ssl settings, and you get the same message? The problem could be on the server end. Can other android users connect to your company's exchange?
Also, if Touchdown is too pricey, you can try Enhanced Email, i've used it before and it works really well. The only downside is that it's not great with your battery.
Yes other android users are able to connect. I'm also able to connect on my girlfriends Mytouch 4G.
Are you running a ROM? If not, the only thing i can think of that might work is doing a factory reset. I had a problem connecting once but it was due to a bad flash. Did you already clear cache and data from the stock email app?
Some ROMs
Some ROMs have a working email client for my corporate email, some don't. I ahd not luck with Weapon g2x, but Trigger worked, for example. Also the nighlies I used (up to 104) worked, but miui doesn't seem to work.
My advice is try ROMs until you find one that works and report the bug onthe forums if you notice problems.
So far I've tried:
Stock 2.2
Stock 2.3
Weapon G2x
Latest CM7 nightly 119
All have the same problem. Could this be a hardware problem? It's weird, why does touchdown work without any problems?
Miui
I am using the latest Miui and it seems to work with exchange. OTOH, I was able to get several of the nightlies to work with my exchange server too.
LG G2X Corporate Email (Microsoft Exchange) Connection Problem
My phone is a T-Mobile LG G2x (LGP999) running Android 2.3.3 (latest version is updated); using Microsoft Outlook 2007 (not sure what version of Microsoft Exchange is being used)
When I try to setup a corporate email (Microsoft Exchange) on my LG G2x (P999), I am receiving an error message that states: "This server requires security features your phone does not support". The steps are as follows:
1.) Go to the Email application from the main menu.
2.) Select MS Exchange.
3.) Set up email: Type your full email address and password.
4.) Server Settings: Type Domain\Username; Password; Server; Select check boxes “Use secure connection (SSL)” and optional “Accept all SSL certificates” when first box is selected.
5.) Account Options: Select how often you want your mail to arrive and your notification preference.
6.) Type a name for your account.
I am getting hung up on step #4 (Server Settings). I am 100% certain my domain\username and server address are correct but when I click “Next” to proceed to the next step I get the message "This server requires security features your phone does not support".
For a test, my colleague entered his information on steps 1-4 into my phone and proceeded to step 5 immediately (Account Options). This problem happened to one other individual and he had to purchase a new phone to correct the problem (a Samsung). The problem seems to be around the phone or mail-server but I am out of options. Is there some setting to get it to work?
Another test I performed, I successfully logged onto my friends phone with my account settings and managed to pull up my calendar / email. He was using a Motorolla phone that used Android 2.2 (an older version than I am using).
Other Notes:
A.) I can log into my webmail but this feature does not sync my calendar or give me instant email notifications. My email in Microsoft Outlook is working as well.
B.) My username and password combination is definitely not the problem. I tried typing in a different password and it gives me a different error (username/password entered is incorrect).
C.) I tried using “/” and “\” in the Domain\Username section. I also tried checking and un-checking the SSL options. I tried other servers available on-site (01 and 02 versions).
D.) My work technical support insists there is nothing different about my security settings but unfortunately since it is a personal device they won’t offer any real support. They blame the phone or T-mobile. T-mobile blames the phone or the server. LG blames T-mobile or the server. See my problem?
E.) I had a work phone recently that was taken away due to budget cuts so I know it is possible to get my email / calendar with an i-phone (3GS).
F.) I also tried using “Other” on step #2 and entering the information manually (selecting exchange since it is not a “Pop” server). I still get the same message.
G.) I rebooted the phone and even pulled the battery and restarted.
H.) I can connect to my work wi-fi. I activated the wi-fi and tried to enter in all the server information but it still gave me the same error with wi-fi enabled.
I.) I have setup my home email account but could not do it from the “Other” option in Step #2. (sbcglobal.net and a yahoo mail both required the yahoo app to work). I also got the g-mail account to work through the “g-mail” app.
J.) It is a brand new phone purchased yesterday 12/13/11 (i.e. factory reset seems pointless and not attempted).
Is there some phone setting I am missing? Any help on this matter or another method to sync my calender / work emails to my phone will be appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance
I don't believe Android currently supports some features of Microsoft Exchange yet because of security permissions. There is an app in the market that bypasses those checks but it's risky, because if your phone ever gets stolen and your work needs to wipe it, they can't and you may get in trouble for breaking policy. For the most part though, they wont know. I'll search for it for you but I don't remember the name.
EDIT: Sorry didn't read all the thread My browser pulled me to the last post of the thread and I thought it was OP haha
Still though, it could just be security restrictions stopping you like I said.

It's weird that you tried CM7 and it didn't work. The stock rom has an older email.apk that is not compatible with the newer versions of Exchange and some security policies but CM7 should not have that problem.
what settings are you using?
I've used both Touchdown and the default Android email client at work without a problem, but your Exchange server must fully support ActiveSync. I would ask your IT support or server admin to help you out.
BTW, while Touchdown may seem pricey, it just works. I use it daily and would recommend it to anyone wanting to connect to Exchange servers. I tried other solutions but always went back to Touchdown. Their support service is top notch.
The only problem I have is that once in a while the email app will delete my account. It only happens to exchange, my pop 3 accounts stay there.
Edit: Of course, as soon as I say this I have a problem connecting I changed my password at work and when I tried to change it on my phone it would not work. I removed the account and added it but still nothing. I wiped the cache and davlik cache and added the account, great success.

[Q] Facebook SNS sync failure

I have an AT&T Samsung Captivate recently updated to the official Gingerbread 2.3.5 release. The phone is rooted and SIM unlocked.
The issue I'm having since the update is that the phone fails to log into Facebook to sync SNS contacts. Why I enter the password, it immediately returns a "Log in Failed. Please Try Again Later" message. The Facebook widget itself that I have on the home screen is working just fine though, updating every so often like it should.
For now, I have turned off SNS sync (Menu>Accounts and Sync) for the Facebook account for the time being because it seemed to be draining the battery. I've noticed there are a few other threads about this issue, none Gingerbread specific, but no one seems to have found an answer yet. Anyone reading this who has found a cure yet?

Happened to me couple of times earlier, try removing the sync account and add it back.

[Q] Why do I get "problem signing in with Google servers"

Device: Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
Carrier: Rogers
Country / Language: Canada
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): Android 4.0.2 ICL53F
I upgraded my ROM to the stock Google one, the "yakju" build. Everything's fine; radio works perfectly, etc. The only problem is I cannot sign in with the google account I use. Each time the initial sign-in tells me I need to use web sign-in (I have 2-step turned on). I then use web sign in and enter the code correctly, it says "Signing in..." then almost immediately returns with the error "Problem occurred while communicating with Google servers, please try again later".
I got this yesterday so I tried again today, but still have the same error. If I sign in with a different Google account, everything works.
I tried a factory reset, but still got the same error.
How do I fix this?
Thanks!
update your security in google account. then try.
I just started getting this tonight, I installed a new ROM and when I went to setup the account I got the same issue, anyone know if it could be on Google's side?
I'm actually getting this error too, started this morning after a full wipe.
I've tried both via wi-fi at home or via 3g, nothing. It keep giving me back that error... any solution?
i got it to work by disabling 2-step on my google account and then setting up the android phone, I then re-enabled 2-step and rebooted my phone, after using it a bit, I got prompted to sign into Google again and this time the 2-step through the browser sign-in worked.
problem connecting to google server .
I just got the jellybean 4.1 update and I'm getting the same code. Can anyone help . Everything works still.

Same. Both my Google accounts are locked. I tried using Google now and that fails
Mine just started doing this tonight. I'm on a custom jelly bean port from tmo on my Verizon galaxy s3, I've logged out and back in and nothing is working
Beamed via NFC through the local store to the internet from my SGS3.
Problem after update
My friend got this after the jellybean 4.21 update as well

[Q] Can’t sync with Microsoft exchange server after official ICS 4.0.3 update

On 2.3.4 my Exchange sync worked perfect, but after I got the 4.0.3 OTA installed I keep getting a message saying something about certain policies needs to be activated. The first time I OK’ed that, I got my SD card encrypted put the following times nothing happens, just a new sync error with the same policy message.
Maybe my exchange server requires a policy which is not supported on my phone (but why did it work on 2.3.4 – has some policies been removed in 4.0.3? Probably not!). To examine which policies are required, I tried the *#*#36245#*#* trick to enable the sync log, but that doesn’t seem to work on HTC Sensation (After typing the last *, the text field is cleared and no dialog is shown as expected).
I have tried to re-create the account, but same result.
Please help me fix this or provide a hint on how to debug
Thanks!
Contact HTC/Microsoft and see what they say
HTC Help: Remove battery and SIM card for 10 minutes. Didn't help :-(
Other ideas on how to trouble shoot this?
Does anybody know how to enable the log for Exchange Sync on HTC Sensation? (*#*#36245#*#* doesn't seem to work)
Thanks!
Contact Microsoft and see what they say
Hi,
You can try to re create the account without the sd installed.
Alternatively if you are rooted you can search the forum for the apks of the gingerbread rom security disabled.

Me too. The SD card is unlikely to be the culprit. I upgraded my Note to 4.0.3 DXLP5. Ten minutes after I noticed a flaw in connecting to Corporate Exchange Server. Because I use the phone to access work emails, I consider this a very serious flaw. After the upgrade, I had to use my other Android phone to access work emails. The Note is now handling all purely personal Google mails.
Flaw Observation:
Connection configuration to Exchange server was successful with expected security acknowledgement from server. Everything looks ok. However, sync did not seem to have taken place. The email app opened and stuck at loading emails. Zero Outlook emails, zero Contacts, and zero Calendar entry. And absolutely zero error message.
I'm having a similar issue. A few weeks after the official upgrade to ICS, the sync with my calendar stopped working. After playing with the sync settings a little, I did a hard reset and the calendar sync started working again.
But now, about 2 weeks after the hard reset, I have the same issue. Email and contacts are syncing with no problems but the calendar isn't.
I'm wondering if it could be an app I've installed that's causing the issue? Any suggestions?
I'm using a Sensation XE in Singapore on Singtel, syncing with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
Android 4.0.3
HTC Sense 3.6
Kerenel version 3.0.16-gda3fdfc
Hi There,
We have the same problem here (Hungary, T-Mo) on several HTC Sensation XE. Hope somebody will find a solution for this.

Exchange auth
I've received the same instructions however I also receive an item in the notifications bar asking me to activate the security policy. Essentially, it forces you to have a pin set up on your phone - pattern is not acceptable. I've done this and gotten it working for me, nothing needed to be done with the sd card
good luck
