Can't mount cache. Will not boot. - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I have P6120, using garyd9's GT-P6210 kernel (p6210_Kernel_20120123.zip)
Everything was working fine, had no problems until this morning. Woke up and discovered my tab had restarted, and was stuck at the boot screen. Tried to reboot, same thing. Went into CWM to restore, and received an error saying it could not mount /cache and /efs.
Tried:
-reinstalling firmware from zip
-restoring through Kies (could not get it connect)
-restoring using Odin (was able to restore stock firmware/bootloader, but encounter same problem when trying to boot/load recovery.
Any ideas?

have you tried factory rest in recovery?
I'd hit it a few times.
garyd would prob be the best to help here.

Not sure how to do that. I'll post back when I figure it out.

Mine did the same thing and I ended up having to return it. It would odin just fine but fail to boot and couldn't manually mount data or cache. I had a few sod's but no real issues with it until then.

Same here for me. I tried everything but nothing worked. I had to send it to Samsung to get it fixed.

Ah. I don't have CWM on it anymore. I restored the stock rom with Odin and haven't been able to change it back.

Put the CWM zip on you external SD card and install it through stock recovery.
My 6210 did the same thing.

You'll need to Odin. If it happens again, you might have bad flash memory in the tab.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk

Same thing happened to me.
My GT7 Plus have rebooted randomly. One day, it was stuck at boot screen (Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Logo).
I tried to reset, factory reset, delete everything, odin, re-install original rom, etc...
Nothing worked. So, call to Samsung and send it to repair center or whatever.
Took me one and half week to get back my GT Plus. It works fine, but still reboot randomly.

Probably need a full firmware with pit to fix.

I already tried odin, restored with stock rom. Ended up exchanging it. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

[Q] Failed encryption, what do I do now?

Hello,
I inturrepted encryption process and now regardless what I do I can not put any ICS ROM on a phone.
I flashed back to stock with Odin and Gingerbread works fine.
If I flash ICS then it loads with "Encryption failed", please reset device, resetting device does not help, it just loops again with the same error message.
What do I need to wipe for phone to forget that it had failed encryption at some point?
In all likelihood you will need to download a stock tar and use Odin to get everything back to normal. can you boot into recovery? I has this issue with my NS4G and ended up being able to get back into cwm and ended up reformatting each mount point. after that I was able to flash another ROM but sadly all of my data was lost (I trust that you made a NANDroid backup, right?)

That's what I did, still same error message.
Odin back to stock, wipe everything, format system etc did not help. Format sd card did not help either. I have full access to everything, download mode, cwm etc. There is no problem with phone at all while on Gingerbread, but anytime I try to install any flavor of ICS I immeditially brought to this error message about failed encryption. What else I need to wipe for it to forget about failed encryption?
Did you try darkside super wipe?

Please let us know if you figure this out. I am having the same issue and would like to find my way back to ICS somehow.
My guess is that an encryption key is being stored into one of the other partitions, like efs1, efs2, params.lfs, etc. These partitions aren't accessible from cwm or dark side wipe, which is why wiping cache or data doesn't fix it.
Will need to look more into how ics encryption is implemented and see what we can do.
It's probably a stupid question, but why would you bother to encrypt the data on your phone?

IF a user uses the phone for work e-mails, it is most likely a policy to enforce data encryption.
example, using mobileiron app with ICS forces encryption.
Encryption is a must nowadays. I did the following:
1) Go to Fastboot and flash stock Samsung. I used a JIG for that
2) Go to stock recovery and do a factory reset
3) Load the android and format internal sdcard from notifications menu

[OFFICIAL][4.2.2] PAC-Man ROM v21.0.1 STUCK ON LOGO SHOW

So i got the intall from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178402
Wiped dalvik 3 times, wiped cache, formatted system and data.
Then i had to edit the updater-script to remove the first line. After i have done that the rom installed.
After rom installed i installed gapps without doing a restart.
After restart the phone is stuck on the logo show. (Pacman and 3 ghosts + samsung) The animation on the logo is goign so i gave it some time and it never boot up. Tried pulling the battery and another restart, still no go. On my second try i installed the rom without gapps thinking it might have caused the bad boot but it's suck again. Can you guys point me in the right direction? The phone doesnt give any feedback of what is going wrong.
I727, update from sky ICS(june), kernel 3.0(if i remember correctly)

Ok so i have installed newest sky ics again and the install wasnt a problem at all + everything ran fine. Then i went to update clockwork mod, downloaded the original pacman(the one with the line intact) reinstalled without gapps and still no go. I cant figure our the deal with this rob. Even tho im not a rom developer myself i have a strong programming background and i attend an IT college right now. Here's my 2 cents to the developer of PACMAN for Skyrocket.
1st thanks for all you hard work.
2nd. please make indicators during the install to see how is the progress going because right now it's like installing and then sucessfully updated. 3rd first boot should be console boot to indicate what is blockign the freakign rom. I spent my whole day trying to figure this out and noone would help + the app has absolutely no feedback for the user to trouble shoot.
Lol its not the ROM mate. Hate to tell you but its not also bootlooping on install is a common issue for some of you so my guess is you are not searching with proper terms.
Here is your bone: wipe cache and dalvik from recovery if its boot looping like that.

Switch to sk8's in the dev section or twrp never rely on ROM manager for anything on this phone. That still doesn't explain why your phone would reboot while wiping cache.

I have switched to twrp and it looks more advanced. I have tried to do a cache wipe and the twrp hang too. It seem like i cant access the cache E: patiotion. When i try to save logs from the phone i get:

Copied Recovery log to /sdcard (Note the sc card wasnt even in the phone at the time of this)
Also when i tried to do a first dalvic wipe i got the same errors but after the first one i get the wipe complete message.

[Q] Stuck in boot loop P3113

Hi all,
I recently rooted my P3113 tablet and backed up through Clockwork Mod to the internal sd storage. The attempted backup failed but still left a huge chunk of used memory that could not be accessed. So then I backed up my tablet to my Dropbox and that went well. Next, I did a factory reset and everything went normal but there was that chunk of memory from the previously failed CW Mod backup. I then went into the CW Mod boot and formatted everything. The tablet then proceeded to go into a boot loop and has been that way for the past couple hours. I am still able to access the CW Mod boot screen but I cannot successfully reboot into the normal state. So with all this said... Is there anything I can do to get my tablet back? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My SM-G355H (Galaxy Core 2) always shows failed to mount error whenever I turn it on.

I installed the my mobile's original firmware using the Odin tool. The installation was successful. After a while a system update came and I decided to install it. During the installation, the installation got stuck at 51% and after waiting for a long time I had no other choice but to take the battery out. After that I turned my phone on and I got "failed to mount /system (invalid argument)" and I am not getting the recovery options like factory reset, wipe cache partition, reboot system. I tried to install the firmware again and again but still I am getting this screen (screen shot attached) and I tried searching every where but found nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
