I thought the Ori was pretty cool and hard to pass up at $30 even if it doesn't fit the best.
I ordered the Ori and used it for a bit and could see why some of the negative comments about it not securely holding the touch pad were made. I then started thinking of possible solutions to this (I also mod computers and cars) and in about 5 minutes I had a solution. I've been testing it out for a while now and it works brilliantly.
I bought the following trim pieces:
Polyethylene Edge Trim w/ Adhesive
Neoprene Rubber Edge Trim
From this site: (did I mention I mod cars too?)
http://customcargrills.com/products.asp?cat=45
The fitment with the trim pieces is nearly perfect and the touchpad is in there solid. The trim pieces do not extend higher than the TP so the cover fits as if the trim pieces weren't even there. I just need to get time to cut/drill out holes for the head phone jack and speakers.
I had thought about posting up a teaser saying that I had a solution to give me time to get a short video put together but I know how I hate those threads so here are some of pics of the results: (using my CM9 Nexus S 4G)

I've held the case so the touch pad is pointing face down and shook it as hard as I could and the touchpad did not come out. I've already ordered another Ori for my 2nd touchpad. I'm loving how functional the ori is. I'm just wanting to get a netbook sleeve for it to cover it when traveling and such to protect stuff from the metal case.

Hey everyone!
I'm using my Diamond quite often at work (for looking things up via Mobipocket etc.) and I normally have the phone resting in my pocket. So I'm searching for a case that you enables you to access the phone quick'n easy. I don't need a belt clip or anything else.
The thing that comes nearest to what I want up til now is this:
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=176954 It looks like there's no button, clip or snap.
Unfortunately it's for the HD.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thx J.
PS. I even thought about something made out of silicone like http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=176956 or http://www.boxwave.com/products/rubberizedslimcase/htc-touch-diamond-rubberized-slim-case_3180.htm with added (magnetic?) "flippable front".
PPS. And it should open horizontal, not like http://www.mobilefun.de/16768-pdair-leder-flip-case-fuer-htc-touch-diamond.htm
these good for you?

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15840
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14993
just search the site. lots of worthwhile stuff cheap
Thank you for your suggestions,
but I'm looking for something I can easily open one-handed (without buttons or anything) AND protects the screen. As mentioned above, almost like http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=176954
Any further idea?
See that one:

This is the case I bought when I was planning on buying extended battery (as I always did,) so I made sure it is stretchable.
However, since I went with "Gold 2450" battery, which is the same size as standard battery, I never had need for this case and it accumulates dust in my basement...

Two very strong magnets hold the cover flap sealed:
(you can see where the hidden round magnets are located by the slightly "sucked-in" areas on the flap)
Easy access to USB port for charging,
also that's how far it stretches (good for extended batteries):
Easy access to headphones port:
and it has very bendable belt clip:
Belt clip is NOT a metal piece covered with leather like most are, but it is made of some sturdy plastic, with added bonus here: it actually imitate the leather look and stitches of the case.
I hate those metal clips covered with leather, because the leather starts to rip apart very soon when you actually use it on belt, and I always made sure to have just plastic clip instead.
Yours for $10 + shipping.
I think I've paid $15 + tax (maybe $19.99, am not sure now, I bought quite few things at that time).
It is brand new.
PM me if interested.
Personally I've always been a fan of having my phone in a belt pouch instead of in my pocket. With the size of the Nexus 4 and the large plates of glass on both sides I'm seriously afraid of breaking it in my pocket. To that end I've tried two different belt pouches.
First up was a trip to my local BestBuy. Their options were limited so I left with a Eddie Bauer generic large phone case.
This case is definitely built to handle phones that are much thicker than our Nexus 4. The back is also segmented which could allow the closure to adjust to accommodate phones of a range of widths.

The intent is nice, but the result is a case that feels like the phone could fall out easily as the closure is opened.
Needless to say I did return that case.
Next up was the Luxmo LU8HBK. This is advertised as a case for the Galaxy S3 which happens to be just around the same size as the Nexus 4. The fit here is MUCH better. While the closure is a bigger flap than I'm used to, the phone fits securely while still being easy to remove. It looks like this pouch will accomodate a thin case such as the Rearth Ringke. I have one on order but its still in transit.
I had a hunch the Luxmo would fit better, and at $5ea (at the time I ordered) I figured it best to get two.
Thanks OP. I have the same worry about my pocket as you. I read water meters and, as such, squat and kneel a lot.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.
I happened to find this little gem on Ebay when i was just browsing items for my Galaxy Note 8.
When you are not using it as a keyboard, it doubles as a protective case.
You place the Note 8 either in portrait or landscape-mode in the slot above the keys and it then looks sort of like a netbook. I personaly do not like the other types of case/keyboards out there as they often get bulky and sometimes they do not look to well with nothing to really hold the tablet in place except maybe a rubberband or just a sleeve where the tablet sits quite badly while you type.
As i said before, the keyboard works as a protective case when you are carrying the Note 8 with you. It snaps on to the front of the screen with a good fit and there are no buttons, irports, speakers or usbport blocked while the case is attached.
The keyboard has home and back buttons as well as eight other fuctions such as copy/paste and play/pause for media. It is charged through a microUSB-cable that is included in the package.
I dont use it as much as i thought i would, and sometimes i touch the screen with a finger while typing on the upper row of keys (the number-keys). other than that it works well, easy to connect via bluetooth.
I could also see myself paying a little more for a version with sturdier plastic as it does not feel really safe to place the tablet in portrait-mode, the plastic above the number-keys tend to buckle and i guess repetitive use could break the plastic completely.
I found it here on ebay
and here are some pictures and a video:

Anyone find a soft case or holster for a phone as big as the Note? For my messenger bag, I used my Timbuk2 3way accessory case for my HTC One & Galaxy S5 but the medium size is too small for the Note. Any suggestions for a replacement? I love the Note but come summer it's going to be cumbersome to have to throw it in my bag, not to mention it could easily get scratched if it gets tossed around. I have some other pockets but either they are buried in the bag or too shallow for the Note. Thoughts?

[FOUND] Nite Ize Clip Case Cargo Wide Load
I think I found my solution. Review to come...
http://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-Clip.../ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
They key is that clip rotates and locks in place. I think it'll be perfect.
Verdict: Negative. The case isn't tall enough, even without a case. There's about 2 inches of velcro and only 1/2 inch reaches without a case and maybe 1/4in or less with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case. The search continues.
Hi, any update? I'm looking for the same thing, a shoulder strap pouch for my note 4. thanks!!!
I was eyeballing this case on Amazon myself, but I don't know how the back attaches; it shows a lot more of the top clip function than anything else, but it does look like there's a back strap to loop a belt through.
