Hey guys hussy got my skyrocket and love it!! Everything OS stock as of right now. I have been using the hotspots to get online its great but have some issues with the NAT when going on the xbox I had the mobileAP on my captivate With a costume and had no problems with the NAT. I was wondering if it was do to radio or the hotspots app??

I've seen on other forums people admin about the radio and 3g hotspot app and they only answers I found were that they r part of blur and blah blah..but yea I reallllly want to keep focused 1.0 but I need the 3g hotspot app so we r in the same boat

I should have assumed it was a blur thing as far as 3g hot spot there is a work around for that I think I read somewhere or use wifi teather it works great for me.

Hey ppls I recently upgraded my phone to cm7 one of the rcs and tethering stopped working. When I tether I only oddly get Skype to work but not anything else. I had this same problem even with the Skype thing when the DNs server IP changed on my wifi and I could only use skype. Is this related to the dns change? Or do I just have to like download something.

Mime gets weak signal too I have Linksys wireless n but it was a cheaply so its my fault

I just got my infuse and my data through wifi is horrid as well. I have a euro SGS2 also and got the infuse to play around with... The wifi is so slow its unbearable... Side by side comparison is a joke.. I hope this isnt normal. running infused oc'ed to 1.6, but the wifi was absolutely crawing on stock as well so i dont think what im running has anything to do with it. If somebody has a tweak that iv missed, it would be greatly appriciated!

If it's that slow you'll need to test by connecting to other access points to see if you get the same speeds on other equipment. If you do, first thing I'd try is another ROM. If the problem persists I'd get a new phone.
That's just me. You guys do what you want.
Yeah, thats what i was thinking... I was at a hotel this weekend running stock and it was crazy slow... Thought it was the access point... Got home, still the same... New phone time!

Hi all,
I have been trying for a while now to get the wifi tethering app and the native hotspot app to work in ICS on my NS4g (i have flashed all the ICS roms and even back tracked to older 2.3 roms) but nothing seems to work. The other devices can see the network and connect, but there is never any type of data exchanged. (the wifi icons never show an active online connection) I can use my GF's Evo with the unlocked Sprint hotspot to connect every device I own (tablets, laptops, etc...) but my Nexus will not work at all. I can get the ad hoc tethering to work with the old wireless tether apk, but only my laptop recognizes the connection.
Is there any rom, app, or fix to get my Nexus S 4g to tether in infrastructure mode? I love this phone, and the lack of tethering is persuading me to jump back on board with my OG Evo.
Any help, insight, or recommendation would be appreciated. I've been searching online for weeks looking for a solution and have come up empty.

Try the one in the phones settings with a simple name ssid like "cranberry" and have it be open.
That's what I do. Also wifi has to be off.

I do that and it connects, but I get no internet. The bars never change colors showing there is an active internet connection...

Tether 4g everyday without any issues to windows, Ubuntu and ipad. Using wifi tether app. On oics 43 with Eugene's latest kernel.

I am looking for a tbolt ROM with a working wireless hotspot that does not require the service from Verizon. Which is the best ROM for this. I am going on vacation and will be no where near the web and need my laptop. Please advise.

You need cell service from verizon for it to work. Search xda for WiFi tether 3.1.

I know that MIUI roms have a wireless hotspot built in, but personally i could never get it to work. I'd stay away from roms with an MIUI base.
