[Q] Mobo Player Free - HTC Sensation

Hey all,
I've been passed onto MoBo Player, so far it's good.
I'm using Soft Decoding and I'm finding that the videos & subs are playing back ok, there was horrible slow-mo with Hard Decoding. Tbh I'm not sure what the difference is between the two technically, all I know is that Soft Decoding works better for me.
Does anyone here know how to change Audio languages on videos?
I'm watching an Anime .mkv file that's got subs etc... When I got the files it said it had Japanese+English Audio plus English Subs. Well I can see the Subs, just not how to change Audio Language.
Cheers,
T-L-H

try mx video player. its also free.

Finally a player that is better than rockplayer

Today i have a free application to recommend (MoboPlayer) , it's still on beta.
Official website : http://moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html
Tested this application with a 720p MKV anime and it can play smoothly on it, tried it on rockplayer and it lag like hell.
However I think it's only work on 720p with around 30fps since Sony capped the max fps. Tried it with 24fps video and no problem with it.
It's support almost every type of video files just like rockplayer but have a nicer interface but you have to add the video into it's library in order to read.
Download link extracted from the website: http://update.moboplayer.com/android/release/mobo_1.0.120_v7_neon.apk
Please try it and comment below.
it did not even find my media, while other players did!
Awesome player! Confirmed but not high volume videos.

VITAL player is best
VITAL is better i guess
I have a 200MB .mkv file It plays in VITAL
Laggy in moboplayer/
i`ve tested a file with vital player
720p - 28 minutes - 1GB - mkv file - audio ac3 5.1
the vital player cant play it smooth and correct.
its very laggy. will test the mobo player next...
Now i can uninstall QQPlayer Vplayer nice...
V Player is BEST !!
I use Meridian Player and it seems to play files very smoothly. I shall give this one a shot though.

I´ve tested mobo player now with the same file...
i cant understand why everybody is talking that kind of **** in this thread!?
pls believe me that there is no player for sony x10 which can play "real" 720p files well without async audio and laggy frames.
buy next phone with dualcore and i think its possible...
THE BEST Video player i ever seen for android .... way better than Vplayer's stupid interface ..... thank you very much
I really LOVE MixZing for all my MP3s! Its got a clean, simple, and dark interface. For video I use mVideoPlayer for Anime because its the only one I know that automaticly got subtitles for my episodes.
VitalPlayer I've been using for video, but I don't like how it doesn't have a list of your media like mVideoPlayer.
I'm gonna try this new one and see what I think... the hunt to only use one continues.
Amazing it's the best player to this moment ..
I test a lot of player but this is the best thanks man ...

Which version of Vital Player is for the X10 as our devices are Arm7 but on Market it states that Vital Player Neon is suitable for our X10s, even though that version is suppose to be for Cortex A8 devices only???

Sigh... That's just plain ignorant... The X10 has a hardware decoder that can handle even 1080p without any problems... BUT since it's a hardware decoder, the video stream has to be in a format it understands. In the X10, that means H.263, H.264 and MPEG-4.
Any other codec needs software decoding and for that, there isnt enough CPU power to do at more than ~15fps for 720p. By dropping frames, that wont desync audio but it will be laggy to watch so that statement is just plain wrong. Dualcore also wont change that one bit.
As for container, atleast from what I've seen so far, no third party player has ever handled hardware decoding themself but always relied on the built in videoplayer for that and simply showing the output. That however limits you also to containers that the builtin player understands for this, which is only MP4, AVI and MPG. But that may very well change and if OP states that this player can play 720p MKV files, it may very well be the first player to properly implement calling of the hardware decoder itself. Will be intresting to see.
But please, learn what it is you're bashing before doing it. It saves people from having to come correct your misconceptions about what you're bashing.

read the first post and you can see that he was talking about MKV FILES !!!
But its the same with an 720p avi file... i dont have the chance to test the mp4 at the moment...
everytime i want to play a 720p movie (and not a camera record) its laggy on my x10.
you mean if i rip a movie in the mp4 there would be no problems at all?
Ok, so I just tried this player... and it is super awesome!! Easily the best one I've tried so far! Thanks for sharing!
it took my application sound files and paired it with my audio files. not cool.
Thanks for all your feedbacks. The 720p (1280x720) h264 mkv file that I tried run smoothly on it. As some of you stated it's still lag, therefore i tried a 720p mp4 file and the video is quite smooth however there's lot of distortion in the audio maybe due to the 5 channel audio.
Will try again tommorrow if I have the time.
Anyway one of the good points of this player is
1) Better interface
2) Able to choose dual audio track (English, Japanese) or dual subtitles (English, German etc)
3) Much more smoother than other player
4) More gesture function.
Hope you all can get the best out of this player. Have a nice day.

Best MKV video player

EDIT: I apologize, the title should have been "Best 720P MKV Video Player"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dice Player so far seems to be the top player for 720P .mkv video files. Handles them flawlessly and there's never a sync issue. The only down side is the free version is only good for a few days and if you want to keep using it you have to pay $5.
If you are looking for something free, the next alternative is Kascend Video Player. It also does a good job with 720P .mkv files just that the menu system is a bit screwy and it ignores your brightness settings and will play videos at full brightness.
Additionally, as far as just a regular .mkv player goes(non 720P), RockPlayer is really nice.
Other players as you guys listed below; MX Player, Mobo Player, QQ Player, etc... all of those are decent to but will not handle 720P properly. they'll either play and not show the video or play out-of-sync. You have to use Dice Player or Kascend Video Player for 720P.
have you tried v player? I don't usually play 720p, but for all the t.v. shows and movies I watch it works fine.

that doesn't handle 720P either.
if you don't care about 720P, but want to play .mkv, RockPlayer is very good.
if you don't care about 720P or .mkv, then Seaman Player is great.
MX Player and MoboPlayer work great with MKV...try those.

Mobo player hands down best I've seen.
tbolt ^_^_^
QQPlayer is good for mkv or pretty much anything else you throw at it.
Drunk texted from my Thunderbreaded Bolt
Just downloaded QQplayer seems to work great on GG Anime releases. I will test out some other mkv's I have thanks a bunch
sorry dudes, the thread was supposed to be for 720P .mkv playback. i edited the original post but it won't let me change the subject title.
dice use less cpu ( it uses HW video decoder ) so, you can save your battery..
and dice gives better picture quality.
I wanna use Dice I might try the trial and see how well it plays then buy it 5 bucks is alot lol
Does Dice Player uses HW decoding on divx/xvid files too?

mkv playing with no sound :S Player Suggestions that don't lag ?

So playing mkv files with original videoplayer and mx player streams the video really well but with no sound :/ Do you guys know any good video player that doesn't lag, run smooth and support sound. ? btw Vplayer is lagging but sound works.
in this section, look for the thread regarding blu ray ripping. the answer is in there.

There are some posts already about this. I use BSPlayer.
bsplayer ftw
ffmpeg is the key
With BS Player or Dice Player, you need to use ffmpeg library. You need to copy a file named libffmpeg.so to /mnt/sdcard/. Sorry, but XDA rules forbid me to post URLs (not 10 posts yet). If you need the file, i can send you a dropbox link by MP.

MKV is a container format, meaning it can contain multiple tracks for video and audio in different formats (even subtitles and chapters are supported). The sound track probably is in DTS format. There are only a few players around for android that can play DTS encoded audio. BSplayer and VPlayer.
Depending on the bitrate of the video, VPlayer does "lag" on some movies for me, BSplayer hasn't done that yet.
edit:
If you can to know what tracks and file encodings are in the mkv check out MediaInfo (windows) or mkvmerge GUI from MKVToolNix (cross platform).
BSplayer streams all my 1080p from my server flawless. The fact that it gets subs auto is amazing. Best player i tried so far tbh

.mkv won't work

Im trying to watch sword art online on my note 10.1
The files are in .mkv format and when I play them on the note, it plays the audio but not the video. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? thanks.

I laready fixed it, found this player that actually does what it is supposed to do, Dice player. It did the job.
Strange, the default player plays all the .mkv files I've thrown at it... Not that I don't have a few extra's in reserve if something doesn't...

Mine too apart from some AC3/5.1 codecs is cannot play the audio, I at least get a picture on everything I have thrown at it. Your video must be an obscure codec of some sort.

It would be interesting to know which codecs are used.
Maybe the OP could find out and post? I use MediaInfo on pc to see details but Potplayer play everything anyway on pc.
I wonder if mxplayer will work with it?
BS Player (free) is also a good program to use for .mkv files as it has more audio codecs then some other players.

It plays every .mkv player alright BUT it cannot play 10bit hd mkv videos and other players play it with some stuttering. The best you can get is BSPlayer but it also cannot play it as smoothly as it does 8bit videos. I, personally, convert my anime to 8bit beforehand.
I use MX Player and it plays everything I threw at it even 10bit MKV 1080p stuff. Though 10bit files stutter. I have to use the software renderer in mxplayer because for some reason the HW one will work with 8bit files, but only show a black screen with 10bit. The HW+ renderer doesn't work very well at all on 10.1 so I just stick with software rendering for everything. My favorite feature about mxplayer is that the embedded fonts in the subs and their positions is preserved so it's like watching on my PC using mplayerhc. I haven't tried any other players yet because I don't think I need to at the moment. The only thing it doesn't play are MKVs with DTS tracks. Licensing issues made them remove it .
If the HW renderer would work on 10bit files I'd buy the adfree version in a heartbeat.
+1 MX Player
it works fine on many videos playing.

MX Player and MKV on Note 10.1

Friends
has any of you tried playing a 1080p MKV with MX Player in HW+ mode? On my note it's choppy and i have to revert back to HW only, where volume can go up only to 100% and not 200%.
All is ok with DIVx movies in HW+ mode.
Thanks
try this, it plays everything

The stock media player should be able to play everything smoothly as long as you are not playing over wifi. However it cannot decode / sum 5.1 channels to stereo so on some 5.1 films you may either get no sound or the wrong language depending on how the MKV was ripped in the first place.
I find that BS player is the best software decoder by far, it get the best results using this for films that play with no sound on the stock. These are the only two video players you should ever need to install.
VLC is ok but the performance isn't as good as BS yet, however it being open source it might get better and be able to sum 5.1 and decode hardware in the future with a bit of luck.
For now always try stock first and then move to BS player as a fall back, don't bother with anything else. (IMHO)

I do have BS, but I tend to use MX on the train as it's so noisy and MX is the only one being able to go to 200% volume
In addition MX has SW, HW and HW+ and with DIVx I usually emable HW+ with no problem, but with MKVs only SW and HW works, while with HW+ sound is good (bettere than with HW and SW) but video is choppy.
I also have Wondershare as it's the only player playing DVD images handling the dvd menu: no need anymore to converts my MASH DVDs to divx, I just use dvd shrink to rip a 4GB image of the DVD on the tablet (quality of MAS is so bad being old that 70% compression makes no difference)
