I'm still trying to figure out a way to get access to the notification bar from the CyanogenMod lockscreen.
The CyanogenMod lockscreen just keeps getting more awesomer but I can't live without access to the notification bar so I'm still using Widget Locker!
I thought I had the answer... assign a lockscreen gesture to the ADW "Launcher Action" "show/hide notification". (If you long press on the ADW launch screen, you can see what I'm talking about.) Aaaaaanyway, the problem is "Launcher Actions" isn't an option in the lockscreen gesture setup. :-(
If it wasn't too diffulicult to make the "Launcher Actions" available to the lockscreen gestures, it would really open up a whole lot more abilities and options.
Sooo, is this something that could be made available without a ton of work? Who should I talk to about making this work? TeamDouche or AnderWeb?
Thanks in advance,
Billy
bumpity bump for old but still relevant question..
Still wishing I had a way to make this work!

hey guys i'm looking for an android app that will allow me to start apps or do some task by swiping a certain pattern when i'm on the desktop screen.
for example if i swipe upwards it will bring up the app drawer, if i swipe down it will open the notifications, if i 'Z' swipe some other app/task will launch etc etc
any suggestions much appreciated
LauncherPro has some of what you're talking about, but you can only have one swipe direction (up). But you can put pretty much anything there. For example, I have my swipe shortcuts related to the actual shortcut. Shortcut- camera. Swipe - gallery. Shortcut - phone. Swipe - contacts... you get the idea.
not exactly what you're looking for, but similar:

I find SwipePad incredibly useful. Not exactly gestures but one swipe can get you to 12 apps or shortcuts. It works with Anycut too so they can be anything.

Maybe this? Haven't tried it, but sounds like what you're describing: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.reeyees.gesturelauncher&feature=search_result

Just a warning about Swipepad, while it is a useful app, it will break any third party screen brightness apps/widgets, so you will only be able to control screen brightness via stock android controls.
I have tried to get the dev to address this, but he does not seem interested in doing so.
i've noticed in a lot of homescreen shots that some of them have the notification area hidden. i haven't been able to find out how to accomplish this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
This is usually done through a home replacement, like ADW or Launcherpro. There's an option in settings. With ADW & ADW Ex, you can set your swipe up or down gesture to show/hide the notifications. In LauncherPro you can make a gesture on a dock icon to do the same.

awesome! thanks (i hit your thanks button). i found it after your direction in the preference section in launcherpro.
No problem. Put a shortcut to it via gesture on one of your dock icons so you can toggle it or expand the notifications when you need to so you don't miss anything.
Glad I could help
I hope I'm just doing something stupid ...
I can't add most widgets I've downloaded to my lock screen on my Nexus 5 ... though they all work fine adding to my home screen. Only a few (like Android Weather) are available when hit the "plus" on a blank lockscreen.
All I want is a brightness widget that can make the display bright so I can properly put in my password in bright sunlight (I never set my brightness to auto, it's too annoying for me).
ie. Power Widget lite would be perfect for my needs!
Any one having the same problem? Any ideas?
I have the same problem. Wanted to add some beautiful clock widget to homescreen (don't remember exactly which one), downloaded, installed, went to add to homescreen - no luck.
Why can't you get something like power toggles. Then you could pull down notification bar on lockscreen and toggle brightness to what you wanted. An extra step I know

I can add everything I've downloaded add to homescreen. But almost none can be added to my lockscreens. That's my problem.

Very cool app, thanks for pointing it out. But ... I can't pull down the notification bar when the phone is locked ... how are you able to?
you add widgets on your lockscreen by enabling them in security. there's a checkbox that says "enable widgets"

Yep, did that. The thing is only SOME can be added. Very few that I've downloaded (even though they all seem to work on home screens).

Wow AWESOME app! That's exactly what I need! I was looking for a bunch of widgets on one row, which the lockscreen doesn't even seem to allow, but this widget already let me configure everything I needed in one row of buttons.
It turns out that THIS widget CAN be placed on the lockscreen (I'm not talking about the one visible in the notification bar, I can only access that when the phone's already unlocked).
BUT ... I still want to know why most widgets can't get placed on the lockscreen to begin with. Are they not Android 4.4-lockscreen-compatible yet?

The widgets have to be enabled to work on the lock screen by the developer.

Aha! Didn't expect that widgets needed special lock screen support.
So there's home screen widgets, lock screen widgets, notification bar widgets, ... I wonder what other classes of apps I'm missing - widget widgets? It would be nice if Google Play Store could search based on widget class.
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have the Dashclock widget (or something similar) on the lockscreen with details visible while still having the unlock icon ready to unlock the device. I'll elaborate a little just in case the previous doesn't make much sense...
So I'm currently running CM 11 on my N5 and under Settings>Lock screen there's an option called "Maximize widgets" which expands your lockscreen widgets but minimizes your unlock icon. Since the icon is minimized, you need to tap on it to bring it back up (while simultaneously minimizing Dashclock for example), then tap again and drag to unlock your phone. Is there any ROM, application, or maybe Xposed Installer module that allows lockscreen widgets to remain maximized while keeping the unlock icon from requiring two steps?
note: I'm currently using the quick launch shortcuts with one of them set as my Google Now Launcher but that returns me to my home screen every time I unlock my phone..
Check out lockerpro or sliderlock app... Same Dev... Or a ROM that has built in lock screen notifications (which almost do)... Another alternative would be active display within Roms or maybe acdisplay app

Hi Guys,
i want to get rid of the navigation bar via various apps, but i heavily use the accessibility menu . Does anyone know how i can open it without using the "human button" in the navigation bar? Some apps like Nova Launcher or Side Launchers support "Activities Shortcuts", but i couldnt find it there. Maybe its there and it just has a different name. Thanks for any help!
Cheers
