Hi All.
I have been running eos 1.0 since day one and the only major problem i have with this fast/nice rom is the compass. It never worked .. I tried plenty of apps without success. (Compass was working fine on stock rom)
Using androsensor app I get Magnetic sensor : waiting for device ... Orientation : waiting for device
I have latest eos kernel. Tried reinstalling a clean install of the rom but compass still failed
All suggestions are welcome and thanks for reading

I use a wonderful app called Smart Tools, and the compass in that app works beautifully. Some compass apps don't work right, and it doesn't have anything to do with the rom...but some apps may not be compatible somehow.
Thanks for your reply,
I tried smart tools and smart compass. None of them worked
Smart tools says magnetic sensor error, reset your device
Edit: installed nightly #34 but still no go

As I said earlier, I don't think it has to do with the rom. Are you using a case with a magnetic closure? Could something else have changed?
Thanks for your reply. I don't use any case at all. And if i load stock rom it works perfectly. So i think it has to do with rom or kernel. It's a pity i have to go to stock to use the compass

I have a rooted Nexus S i9023 running CM9 RC1 with Air Kernel... I usually have auto rotate turned off because I don't like it! But then a few days back my device used to auto rotate automatically with the rotate being turned off.. It solved itself after a few days so I didn't bother. But it's just stuck in landscape mode and will not switch no matter what I do! It happened while I was using KangyU also and it happened with it also 3 times. Everytime I need to perform a factory reset and flash a new ROM and then it solves :/ I used androsensor and it does show a value for Accelerometer but my phone simply does not rotate! Is there a problem with my accelerometer? Do i need to give it to the service center or can I do something that will solve it? Any help appreciated
If doing a factory reset/ reflash fixes it. Then it is not a hardware issue.
Not factory reset persay. I need to flash a new ROM for it to go normal

This is probably a problem with your Kernel or ROM, please flash a stock ROM to ensure that the accelerometer is fine. If you are afraid you might lose anything make a backup or so.
Okay yeah AiRKernel might be the problem. Thanks I'll try it and let you know. Thanks!

I went stock.. But AndroSensor is still showing the same reading it was showing on CM9.. And the auto-rotation bug only comes after a few weeks into any ROM.. Also everytime that occurs I get a prompt saying
" Complete action using
Clock
Tune In Radio "
Everytime I get that pop-up I'm stuck on landscape for infinity. So can it be an app problem? It's happened so far on 3 ROM's I've used (KangyU, CM9, Paranoiandroid)
so I doubt whether it is a ROM issue. Maybe a Kernel issue because I've used AirKernel on all 3 of them
Could be either I suppose. Not sure how either could cause it though
The sensor read out should be the same no matter what rom is on there. That is normal. The app itself tells you what the read outs from each sensor should be as well
My point. But what I mean is, If readings are the same then the behaviour should be same as well right? Where is the accelerometer exactly located?

It happened on Stock also :/ stock ics stock kernel. Same popup :/
Accelerometer issue?

If a new rom and kernel didn't fix it then it might be hardware.
Strangest thing happened. I uninstalled Tune In Radio and voila auto rotate back! So the app was the issue! But any idea what might have possessed that app to do so? :/

Yes, nothing happened. I tried it twice and nadda! I'm not sure as to how I can fix it, I have convert back to stock and nothing. Makes no sense and I only started having this problem when I started flashing JB roms, I have also tried flashing different roms like ICS and still, no lock. Any other suggestions?
EDIT: Nevermind, I rebooted and run GPSfix, location fixed! Thanks a lot =)
So I upgraded to the 04/03/13 nightly build of CyanogenMod 10.1 P3100 today. Everything seems to be working great except that my microphone won't work! Any help would be much appreciated. Won't work in any app.

I had the same problem last week but rebooting the device solved it for me. I hope it works for you too.
I did have the same problem. By installing an update of google search my microphone worked again
Thanks for the tip. I have tried the above two methods to no avail! Maybe in the next nightly it will fix itself. Would be grateful if anyone else had some tips!

Uhm, mine works great, but I could not get the CM Nightlies to install. Always give me a system 7 error with CWM ROM Manager. So, I used the EXPERIMENTAL build and man, that really works great. Everything works, no problems at all after installing the update that came in system settings, once installed. The only problem I had was hardly any SDcard space after installing. Found the fix for it, even reposted it for others who had this problem. Format the internal SD card after installing. You will lose all of your apps but Google put them all back in like ½ an hour, so now the tablet rocks so hard, I cannot find *anything* that does not work anymore. Originally I had audio problems, audio would crap out if you used the HP jack and tried to talk. But after the update, this jellybean ROM is golden. Give it a try, it is really, really good.
Installing now! Thanks for the tip!

THE SAME PROBLEM P3110 BAKED Blackbean ... MIC NOT WORKING
Same problem with dark fantasy Rom... Funny thing is... Skype still works...
Solved!
Hey guys just wanted to post the fix I found. Even though I have the Tab 2 7 inch WiFi model, I accidentally installed the P3100 rom which is not meant for the WiFi model. After I re-installed the correct P3110 rom, it worked flawlessly (also RC 1). Hope this helps some of the other people on this thread!

I am having the same issues. I thought it was just Google Search/Voice Search that was the problem, but it is actually the microphone in general as recording video doesn't record sound. I had the same GS issue with PAC Rom. and both roms I had to edit the services file and re-zip so that my cwm recognized p3110 as the correct device to install (status 7 error) everything else works fine. I just cant figure out how to get the mic working. I uninstalled google search, I've updated, I've tried to reflash cm 10.1 as well as gapps. I watched vids on how to change input settings on voice to text. Still nothing

I just noticed I did the samething. I must've hit the wrong button on my first flash when watching a tutorial, and then just assumed 3100 was for any other ones I downloaded. I am downloading the correct version now and will see if that fixes things.
good !

I flashed over to CarbonRom yesterday and everything was working properly except for the camera. When I tired to go into the camera I'd get a message "Can't connect to camera" and then the application would close out. I'm back to running CM 10.1.2-d2vzw and the camera works fine there.
Anyone else run into this issue or have a fix? I searched quite a bit and found a lot of threads related to the camera firmware but CM works fine.
Thanks

1.7 is pretty old. Try flashing a nightly. It will work 100%!

Any particular nightly know to be good? I've always stayedaway from the nightly as you seem to always get the disclaimer that 'something could be broken' since new code is rolling in.
Thanks
