HELP! Nexus can't connect to carrier after 2.3.6 OTA...

Hey guys, I decided to go back to stock 2.3.3 from cyanogen yesterday via recovery. Everything went fine and worked on the stock rom until I got the update from google to 2.3.6....
So then my signal bar started showing an X right after the update and the notification bar says Emergency Calls only. Im pretty sure the APN is right as I have re entered it multiple times. My cousins sim card also didnt work on my phone.
Did the 2.3.6 OTA bust my radio or something?
PS: I flashed my phone back to the Cyanogen recovery I've made before all this and it still didn't work.

Nexus S flashed to Cm7. No signal or network detected

Hey guys, I just recently flashed to cm7 on the nexus s under sprint. I'm having problems getting a network to be detected or signal at all. This actually happened when I flashed onto cm9 from stock, then I figured I go to cm7.
EDIT: The phone model is SPH-D720, which is the nexus s 4g. But it doesn't seem to like any of the roms I want to flash, it always said that the aserts fails on the product. It works when I flashed Nexus S roms, which is weird and I made the mistake of flashing a Nexus S rom first. Did I screw it up by flashing it?
What's your baseband, found by going on Settings > About Phone?
Alot of the guides for rooting and unlocking are for the Nexus. It will work for the NS4G also, but make sure you have a NS4G clockwork recovery also. I would recommend flashing a new recovery and trying that first.
My baseband is D720SPRKE1. I'm not too sure what that means. I might've chosen a NS instead NS4G clockwork recovery. That might be my problem.

[Q] my phone can't get att signal with Gummy rom

I was using Serendipity 7 and I installed newest gummy ics rom yesterday.
Eveythings are working great but signal. at first, i thought it was my simcard.
so i put my simcard into friend's phone and it worked. And i put friend's simcard into my phone, didn't work.
So i went back to stock version and my phone was working good.
I only can get signal with gummy rom. Is there any setting or way to fix??
I tried several ICS custom rom and I really liked this gummy rom. please help
Did you try flashing a different modem. For me flashing jl3 modem worked......

KG3 is good too, make sure you use one of the ICS modems (you can get to them in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227717).
If that doesn't work, I'd try reflashing.

[Q] Can't Activate - Need to Walk GF Through Flashing Back to Stock!

I sent my girlfriend the Photon Q LTE I modded to CM11. Everything was great before I sent it and she intended to activate it on Ting. Now she is unable to activate it and has been in contact with a representative from Ting and he mentioned that CM11 blocks their software.
I need to be able to walk her through flashing back to stock in order to activate. Could anyone help me out and provide me with a stock Photon Q ROM to flash? This will be interesting.
Thanks for any help.
Flashing back to stock will flash it back to Sprint... If you need it to work on Ting, I'm not sure how that is going to work - unless it's SIM modded and you already swapped the card?
Either way, this thread has the info for flashing back to stock... although again, the only available options are for Sprint or C-Spire stock ROM's.

Buying soon. Question concerning roms

So, I'm buying this to replace my evo 4g and I was wondering how I would go about using a custom ROM for this and having the apns and data working correctly.
I plan to activate it on Ting.
To be a bit clearer, I want to use a custom ROM and I want to be sure that it'll work. So first, can anyone on Ting confirm that they're running a custom ROM (preferably KitKat) with no problems?
And I assume I'd have to activate the phone first, then install a custom ROM. Would I have any problems doing that? Would the apns be messed up? Or should everything be fine as long as I activate the phone and update everything on stock before installing a ROM? Reason I ask is because I know some Roms don't allow the *#*# thing needed to activate a phone on a new network.
Thanks!
I am using mine on Ting. I had used my first Q as unrooted stock JB, which worked pretty well for a year, but then it reached a near--bricked state where it wouldn't boot past the yellow Sprint screen. I couldn't resolve this in a timely fashion, so wound up buying a second Q which runs stock ICS, but failed to download the stock JB update.
In the meantime, I unlocked both phones' bootloaders, and tried a few kItkat ROMs on my original phone before settling on CM 10.2, which is a JB ROM. I then switched my Ting activation (back) to this phone. The lack of #*# commands isn't really a problem with respect to re-activation, but it is a problem with respect to PRLs and (perhaps) APNs. I recommend Ting activation and a PRL update prior to installing your custom ROM.
Like others, I would like to learn about a stable kitkat ROM where bluetooth, wifi, and phone data/sms/calling all work reliably. My other primary requirement is the ability to play DRM'd downloaded Amazon Prime Music, which didn't work on the kitkat ROMs I tried, but does work on my JB ROM.
