Hi, when logging my sport activities with an app (sportypal)
i get different results when i am in a neighbourhood OR in the forrest or on open water.
In town my position hops from one end of the street to the other (see pic) and on the water or in the forrest everything is as it should be, tracking is good there.(see other pic)
Has anybody else had this issues?
(also with navigation (sygic) position is better out of town than in town.) but i can't log that.
on/off of location services (wifi-prov.networks) and only gps on has no difference in this strange behaviour.
And NO i was not drunk in the upper picture . . . . . . lol
so, same app, other surroundings, i think it has to do with wifi in location settings, but that was OFF in upper picture! only gps was on.
Or is setting this wifi assistance for location off NOT really OFF and does htc sneaks our location anyway?

Stumbled across this app in the WM Software forum and just had to let you all know it's there! The app basically determines your location either through CellID or GPS, and then downloads a map of your choice from either Google or Bing (US Only still I think) and then outputs it to any wallpaper location you like - Today, Sense, S2U2, CHT (portrait, landscape or lockscreen). It works perfectly - I have it set to download the Google satellite map and output to my CHT lockscreen. I don't have it on Autoupdate, but there is also an Update Now quicklink so you can update as and when you like.
LINK to the app thread.
Amazing!!!! Very good idea!
Nice .. ppl ... !! u Rock ..!!
Dunc,
I cannot get this to install, it keeps saying unsuccessful, I tried redowloading it and got the same thing, can you post a copy?

Do you use GpsFix to facilitate & speed up your gps satellite fixation ?
if the answer is YES so I'm sorry that you have to remove it now.
As the program in its update became a spam, putting an ad on the home screen as reported by users.
But the problem with me was a whole different story, more annoyingly critical.
I'm usually not connected to internet turning off my my mobile data, lately my phone (HTC DESIRE S) became crazy with its screen turning on & off by itself frequently draining my battery in horrible manner.
After days of searching for the cause with removing a lot a lot of programs till i knew the cause (thank god before factory data resetting) that was the GpsFix.
The good thing that every thing works normal again.

You're probably thinking "Turn off 'Always Scanning'"
Well, that's not it.
I noticed this issue in the developer preview, and I thought it was part of the wifi bug that held up release. Well, after coming across a Reddit post, it seems it's affecting at least one other person in the official image as well as me still.
Wifi is off:

Always scanning is off:
And I even tried to toggle Wifi on while sleeping to never.
Battery stats shows Wifi on the entire time (the sliver of 'off' you see is a reboot.):
I disabled location and bluetooth, thinking there might be an app tied to either of those that is keeping wifi alive, for location reasons or other. Is anyone else seeing this, or have any ideas?
Same issue, not a huge one tho cuz it doesnt effect my batterylife.
Yesterday, I was out of town and took a wrong turn. I got a little lost and decided to use maps. I couldn't get a lock at all. Opened up GPS STATUS & TOOL to confirm that I couldn't get a lock on any satellites. I rebooted and that didn't solve it either. Luckily, I had a set of precision screwdrivers in the van and used a #0 to tighten all the screws in the inside of the back of my phone. I didn't even power off to do so. After this, I replaced the back cover and opened the app again. INSTANT LOCKS WITH 10FT ACCURACY.

I can't guarantee this will work for you but, it couldn't hurt. I hope this helps someone. Don't blame me if you break stuff. [emoji3]

Nice layout, but besides that, it suffers from the same difficulties all compass apps on Android suffer: its incorrect. May prompt the user the make the 8-gesture to calibrate properly or use some other techniques to calibrate the compass but the currently shown values are false (Pixel 3 XL, Android 10). From a developer point of view, working with compass values on Android s***s.
