Hey guys, I'm trying to look for an Arabic rom update for CM 5.0.7. I can't seem to find one and every time I get close I either go to a Google 403 page or a thread where the download link has been updated to a CM 6 link. I really like 5.0.7 and I would like the Arabic update link for CM 5.0.7. Does anybody know where I can get the .zip from? Thanks in advance.
Flash This Files from Recovery
The first file
The second file
sorry the links is not valid
i will search for diffrent links
Okay, the first file actually made it work. The only problem is that when you go to Gmail, you'll have to go into the message, otherwise for some weird reason it'll show backwards. If you have an easy solution, by all means post it, but you don't have to go crazy. Thanks a lot for the help.
You do not say at the first post that your phone 32b

Yeah...sorry for that I realized I was missing that detail. As a said in my other post, it's working great besides that small minor detail with the Gmail, but I can live with that. I'll download this file as a backup in case.
Thank you for your help, it's highly appreciated.

no need to be harsh on the guy. Just because someone has the savvy to flash a rom doesnt mean they have the knowledge or confidence to remove apps. Hes sharing his version of the auraxtsense rom for those type of people and they may appreciate it.

Well Catus i`m people like them.I grew into this forum slowly...took the easiest way.Last few days i`ve felt bold enough to put S-OFF on my Desire and used ADB to change my splash screen.
The reason i did that was because of all the helpful posts in this forum.
I am totally impressed by the willingness of the experts on this forum to lend a hand to the newbies. You Sir do not impress me at all.

You berate yourself incorrectly because it looks to me you're not people like that. You've investigated and searched and researched. Zip-Roms like this compound the issue of people not bothering to do any of that.
I'm more than happy to help people. When they help themselves first. I'm sick and tired of people who can't use the search function, and asking what OJ means, or whether you can stick the Sense camera on an AOSP Rom. Not reading posts properly and thinking S-OFF is some magical system that does anything exept full R/W access. People like THAT is who that comment was directed at.

I don't see peterfeter has any bad intention, he gave full credit to Neophyte.x360 and he merely shares the things he did.
While he's not a real developer who knows a lot of things, I've checked the forum rule and apparently he did nothing wrong to violate any of the rule. So I don't understand why he deserves such bashing.
If you don't like it, then ignore it, simple as that
Thx. Good job. Dont mind bored guys

He is not asking for Donation, for thanx, or for recognition
Everyone has to start from somewhere.
This qualifies as a mod, anything that's different to the original is isn't it?
Will you prepare this mod for newer version of ATS ?

bashing this guy sucks
i agree with others on this thread. dont bash this guy. what actual harm has he done. he's not made any untrue claims and if anything he's inspired untechnical people like myself to have a little delve beneath the surface. I may have a look at this rom myself and do a MOD.
This has inspired me to try some editing myself. But without luck, so if you do a zipmod, you just add or remove files from data/app/ and system/app/ ? Is that all? Been trying but I get an error everytime I try saying that a file is missing. Are there a list of files + directories that i verifys with before installing? Been searching the web for answers but I only found guides on how to make a ROM from the start.

I know its a little bit heavy, but to mod ROMs I always use
[KITCHEN][OCT. 3 '10] HTC Android Kitchen, v0.100 [Linux / Mac / Windows]
The kitchen will unzip the ROM you want to mod, you change/remove/add what you want. You can sign new apk files, zipalign the apps and create a flashable ROM.
EDIT:
And thanks to peterfeter to publish his ROM. Ignore the jealous ignorant people posting bad things in your thread. You have done a good job and it is good that you share it. I plan to release my mods soon as well. It will be a mod of an existing ROM with some special apps and settings for Japan/Softbank users.
Thanks alot BeeGee! I will try it out!
Well XDA, we don't have a dedicated section for the Toshiba Thrive 10.1 inch Tablet. What the hell?? lol. Anyways, got this bad boy yesterday, it's a beast.
Uploaded the system dump here.

Also tried rooting it, no go yet. Only tried Gingerbreak and the Gingerbreak apk. Gingerbreak apk just crashed on open, and Gingerbreak via SuperOneClick just say there on "Running."

Does it have a recovery.img? I'm trying to restore mine from a soft-brick and don't see it, or is recovery-from-boot.p the image?

Check out thriveforums for that stuff. XDA took too long to get this board up(over a month) so development had to establish itself somewhere else.
I would like to see everything here. after awhile those indi sites just kind of dry up. not to mention it a pita.

take it easy, u might hurt ur self
ok its not quite in the right place, but no need to bite his head off.
anyway, in answer to your question, the way i removed the branding from my vodafone DS was this
http://revolutionary.io/ download this tool and follow its instructions, this will root your phone and give you a recovery tool that will allow you to flash a new ROM onto your phone.
With the phone rooted, you will be able to back up your data using an app from the market. Titanium Backup is the usual favorite.
EDIT : may be wrong about it providing root, I personally skipped the backup step as I had no data to lose, but if that is the case there are guides in the forums for obtaining root access
next look through this forum to find a ROM that suits your needs, from the sound of things you want the stock one, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230029 should suit you.
download the zip file and transfer it to your SD card.
next you need to reboot into your recovery mode by turning the phone off, then hold the vol down button and power button together and selecting recovery from the menu
finally use the volume buttons to select install zip from SD card, and point it at your downloaded rom. it may take a few mins so allow it to finish then select reboot phone.
again this first boot may take a little time, but once its up you should have a debranded ROM as if you had just bought the phone new.
Add the details for your google account and redownload your backup app so you can restore your data and you are good to go
thank you very much for your help,
I shall give it a try,
by the way, will be able to install official updates on it, or will I have to stick with custom ROMs for ever?
thanks again

Nooo, not forever. Just until you get a new device
But seriously: Custom roms don't work with official updates. The trick is that most of the custom rom developers provide their own flashable updates for their roms. The difference is in the way you perform the update. There are even fairly developed custom roms, like MIUI, which have their own over-the-air updates (actually more often than official updates are coming.)
EDIT: In fact, you can switch back to a stock rom anytime and get the official updates back.

although a lot of effort had been put into creating a lot of resources which are very user friendly, so it's quiet frustrating when they aren't even looked at.
Plus development is for just that, which is why the moderator moved the thread.

Once unlocked, i.e. rooted, you can use titanium backup or a root file explorer to uninstall the apps you don't need from the rom you are running atm.

Well, again: read around the forum a little, please. There is a sticky thread right on the top of the development section, called ROMS/RECOVERY/ROOT etc. It's a must read for newcomers. Very useful thread. There you find a link to a collection of stock roms. These are distributed as .exe files, so you can run them in windows and a simple-to-use installer will pop up and help you with pushing the stock rom to your phone. It is advisable that you double check that you are flashing the rom you really want. Someone here will help you to choose the right one.
EDIT: By the way in the general section (where we are now with this thread) there is also a very useful sticky. It's called Guide for Newcomers to Android. Seriously, it's a good read, given that you own an Android phone...

OK man, I will do that, thanks for the tips
Thanks chris5s, Ill definitely give it a shot.
This tool would help to get rid of the annoying Orange splash screen, and other useless apps could be removed as stated before.
Of course, best way is to install generic HTC European rom or custom rom of your choice.
Aforementioned tool would also help install roms, radios, etc, of your choice.
Good luck
Peace
Edit: sorry, Android flasher won't help install roms, but will help with installing custom recovery - Ext4 or Clockwork Mod - essential in s-off/rooted flashing.
Because no one seems to do it I was forced to work by myself and I managed to upgrade the phone to Android 2.2.
I wrote detail article with direct link downloads for the ROM file and the flasher. They are direct downloads no ads or such.
I also have all Firmwares for all Alcatel phones, but they are about 11Gb so I'll upload them in the next few days.
the tutorial is little big, but I was trying to be more precise so everyone can understand me.
Thanks.

Thanks for the info, a guy was asking to me if he could update his phone to 2.2 and he will be pleased of hear: yes you can! =D
What about performance of 2.2 on this phone, is it good. Do you need OC? Is all working like on the original 2.1 rom?
Thanks again!

The performance is BETTER then the stock ROM because a lot of unnecessary apps provided by alcatel are deleted and left only the important one. I made this upgrade for mu sister's phone and I can say it is running with no problem. Everything works, GPS, WiFi, GPRS. All is normal.
I am happy because it is at least 2.2. Android 2.1 is prehistoric, there is even no Google Play store upgrade for it.
Need complete ROM files
Can someone upload the complete ROM and share the link? I want to make a similar ROM for Spice MI 270 based on MT6516. My phone has android 2.2 but does not support adb currently.
Please upload system.bin, boot.img, recovery.img and others if possible.
Thanks!
Holy Batman it's a very old thread I know!!
Would someone be kind enough to upload the tutorial and the files. I would be grateful...
Thank you.
