On my g1 and g2 I could look at my phone while sitting in a moving car and be fine but with my sensation I start getting roadsick(naucious).. Even with low brightness high brightness... Could it be qHD vs wvga or whatever the g1 is?
Has anyone else expierienced this?

First I ever heard of this condition. I've had tried many phones, from MT4G, Nexus One, now my Senny. I have ran different nav programs and none have made me carsick.
It could be the clarity of the phone compared to the g1 and g2, not sure. Do you have a screen protector on your phone?

Anyone with an Atrix bought the sensation yet?
Specifically, Is the sound quality ok (I have an Atrix and I think sound is the best of any device I ever owned) ...

Not a Sensation owner (yet, mine is coming soon), so I can't judge on a first-person perspective.
However, I can refer you to an extensive review done by GSMArena that tests this area as well.

yikes.. the speaker is even worse than the Nexus One if you compare the numbers in the gsmarena reviews for both..

That is so disappointing. The Nexus One speaker was a joke. It's not important to many people, but I listen to podcasts and satellite radio over the loudspeaker while doing work and the Nexus One couldn't be heard over even the slightest bit of noise. Maybe root and DSP will help, but this makes switching to the Sensation a much tougher decision than I thought it would be.
I dont understand what it is with HTC these cheap POS speakers...at least the ones on the G2 and the MyTouch4g had decent volume
The older buisness phones like the kaiser and the touchpro had very good speakers but thats probably because they were designed to be used on speaker phone alot more.
The speaker on the sensation is not that bad for calls but if you were planning on listening to music on it you will be disapointed, but I dont imagine anyone would want listen to music on a phone speaker

i do and most of my friends do as well. Sony and Samsung phones sound SO good that you would think a small audio system is playing not a cell phone. loud too. useful at BBQs, listen to radio before bedtime, at work etc.
HD2 and Nexus One have been very disappointing in this department. Sony Music phone and Vibrant have been very good.
I definitely think that the external speaker volume is lower than my hd2, which was really loud. Is there a software fix for that?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Player pro was the only fix I could find. But it plays the music louder than every other player I tried. It's made my loudspeaker serviceable until we can get rooted.

I'm thinking that player pro would be for music, what about general system sounds, like notifications, coming out the speaker?

Not the SGS2. It's speaker is maybe a little bit better than the DHDs, which is CRAP (imo)
The speaker is one of the only things that the iPhone 4 does better than the latest HTC flagships.

While the SGS phones are amazing compared to the N1, that doesn't say much. I come from the Motorola Droid series and those things are like boomboxes compared to any of these phones. SE seems to do a good job too. SGS is in the middle of the pack. I need my ringer on 5/7 or 6/7 to hear it outdoors for my Nexus S, but the Milestone rings like a champ at 3/7.
But here's the thing. The N1 also had a crappy earpiece. How is the earpiece on the Sensation? As important as speakerphone is, I'm sure the earpiece is even more important. If you can't make calls on the earpiece, then how is speakerphone gonna fix anything?
If where talking about ringing. I can hear the sensation with no problems. When I get a call.

Apart from the visual effects and animations, sense 3 is the first version able to read html emails from the old exchange. The performance and screen resolution are also important improvements. It is using the last generations softwate and hardware.

now thats a relief.
I never had a issue with cell signal but I did have a issue with the WiFi dropping off when holding it in landscape view until I went into the WiFi settings and pumped WiFi performance to the max. After doing that, the WiFI stays strong when holding it in landscape.

Let us know if you have the deathgrip issue, or any other comments comming from an HD2 to S4G. I just ordered mine last night and already got rid of my HD2, so I'm stuck

I have no death grip problem like I do with my HD2.
BTW: the biggest change I notice last night, besides speed and sense 3.0, was the camera. When recording 1080p, the zoom works. On my HD2, I can only use the zoom before I start recording, not during recording.

Cool beans! I hated having the fixed zoom durring recording. So you're saying that your HD2 has deathgrip but not the Sensation ?
Thanks in advance for sharing.
Ok I know it's a little bit late for that but coming from N1 and DHD background and now having the sgs2 I wanted to post some very first impressions about a Sensation I could handle for 30mins:
+Phone feel very nice in hand, waaay better than the sgs2 ''fridge''
+Sense 3.0 is the best rom ever
-Carousel replacing the scrolling wallpapers is big step backward from htc, what the hell? using a qHD screen with 540x960 resolution wallpapers while DHD was 960x800??
-Speaker is even weaker than DHD which was the weakest in the market, even with volume+ set to maximum the speaker only gained a tiny 10%, if a cat begin to miaou you wont hear the ringtones
+Screen is exellent even under sunlight, though it doesn't have pure blacks of sgs2 but it has a superb image quality thanks to qHD,again too bad we can't use 1080x960 wallpapers
Even if it has some negatives I am still pretty much considering swapping my sgs2 with a Sensation, I missed so badly Sense!
+1 for the speaker volume.. its horrible
Interesting the comments about the speaker. While not outstanding the speaker on mine is a fair bit better than on my DHD.

Well, depends on how you define better.. i can tell you that when assigning a ringtone on my OLD sony W610i, it sounds better and louder than on the sensation, which is a damn shame if you ask me.
The built in ringtones on the sensation are fine, loud and clear, but when assigning my own ringtone, the sound is horrible both quality and volume wise. I totally expected more from a $600+ phone
I must recon I tried Volume+ with a S-ON sensation, dunno if it matters for this app to have root?
Speaker is the worst on the Sensation. My cliq xt overpowers it in sound under a pillow.... I'm not exaggerating.

I believe you. Its a shame and i hope it can be improved with a ROM although i dont get my hopes up too much as its probably a crappy hardware issue
Agree with you on speakerphone, it sounds hollow, weak and poor.
as for the ringtone, i was able to use some from zedge which i can hear unless i am in very noisy place and phone is in my pocket.

Whats zedge? care to elaborate?
The speaker is quite poor, I agree. But the strange thing is on my previous model is was noticeably better (tested them side by side) than the one I have now.
Use adownloader or another music download app and trim ringtones yourself. This will assure you much better quality.

Volume +
Volume + made a HUGE difference for me, along with a custom ROM, I've actually had to turn it down in some situations.
+10000.... Speaker is absolute garbage.

Who cares about speaker. Download sound+ and it will be just as loud if not louder than any other phone. Steve jobs tutorials sound great at loud volumes!!!! Lol j/k

Hey, thanks!
I know about this, but I also kinda wanted to see what he has to say since he actually owns one.
I compared the screen of my Sensation (rooted, virtous Inquisition) to the one of a friend (original) and saw, that the sceen is a little bit more green.
Is that normal or is my screen somehow damaged?
In addition to that my speaker sounds really bad, sometimes i cant understand what the other one says (i've alrady removed all the dust)... the one of my friend sound a lot better..
Is there any possibility to fix both of this or should i send my sensation in? Actually i dont want to give i away for a month or two.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
here is a picture of both screens
There are several screen manufactorers for Sensation. Try to search the forum for instructions how to find out your screen manufacturer. And check if you and your friend have the same one.
Hey, since upgrading I've noticed that some apps font and such is blown up and not crisp anymore. Also the screen in general seems like its dropped a bit in resolution, almost like changing the resolution on a computer. Is this a known issue or is it just my mind paying tricks on me?
The rom is great by the way, thanks!
