Hi guys,
I am learning how to theme custom rom's now and I am just wondering if someone can point me to some relevant information on how to change apps to whatever DPI i like. I am actually leaning for 160DPI...
Thanks!

how would i do this?
i know i had it fixed on my hd2 that the roms dpi was set to 192 by the dev and i changed it to 160, and the dialer fit.
The problem is the dialer looks small.
so does anyone or any themers know how to fix this? i'm accustomed to having android at the lower dpi and that is the only problem i encounter with the changed dpi.
help would be appreciated, thank you.

Ive been lookibg into this as well try ex dialer from market this is how i have.my phone :/
if you ain't first you're last
so i looked into it and whatever i did to do that was a fluke -.-
i was on an older version of pongster's rom and haptic feedback didn't work for the lockscreen, i then just upgraded to a newer release and haptic feedback worked, i had to reset my dpi back to 160 as the update put it to 192, and i had a full size dialer.
i have to see if i have a backup to on my computer and i'll restore it and if the dialer is there i'll tell pongster to take a look and see if he can re create results.
We don't have a pongster ROM. Do you have an SGS 4G SGH-T959V?
yes, i did it with my hd2, and from what i read he doesn't know how to fix the dialer issue either. so if i can find a backup that will restore the dialer to a phone, i'll contact him or his team and see how to replicate that.
then everyone can benifit
Hi there android fans an gurus!
I am not posting a lot in this forum but I am really keen reader! I have learned a lot here about Android and I appreciate good work from all of you not only developers . But I need some help for customizing stock launcher from JB 4.2. I have signed APK from NEXUS 7 (found it here in this forum of course).
Is it possible to force the launcher to switch to some different resolution then that it found itself? let me explain more in depth.
I have a 8" tablet running 4.1.1 and I have replaced launcher that comes with the device with stock launcher from JB 4.2. But here is the tricky part. My screen has 1024x768 resolution but the resolution that launcher runs is 1280x800. I looked at .apk and it has all necessary files to run 1024x600. In portrait mode everything is perfect but in landscape mode some parts of the icons and widgets are hidden. I am attaching screenshots for clarification because my english isn't so good!
So the question is can I switch it and what I have to modify? And how can I confirm the resolution that Launcher uses? APK contains data for 600 and 720 layout.
p.s.
I am not so good programmer but I have some background and I think with some very appreciated help I could manage to do that.
Best regards and thanks a lot in advance for participating in this thread.
Hi again!
Please for a little push here! I know that it is much more complicated but give me some little clues and I will try to find other things alone
Or tell me if it is possible at all
I tried to read .xmls but they appeared encrypted some kind.
Thanks again in advance!
Hello, please administrators to lock or delete the thread. I have hound what I looked for.
Thank you!
Guys, I am a novice here and keep reading the posts on XDA frequently but posting a query first time.
I have installed pimp my ROM on my Galaxy R and changed the screen density which made me to utilize the real estate on my screen efficiently. The standard UI never helped me so opted for GO launcher and its working like a charm now inspite of a few delays.
The problem I am facing now is with the stock Email app now. Its not utilizing the new screen size and is cramped in a portion of it.
Can someone here help me to find out a way out or a tweak to make use of it. I know there are third party applications available which may help me but I really want to stick to the default app.
I have attached the screenshot which will help to understand the problem.
Thanks a lot!
I don't think it has layouts for another size and DPI, so this cannot be easily fixed.
Yes, But When you use PimpMyRom then you can save a zip file for reverting back as Update.zip.
BTW, as we always say, do have backup first while applying such changes in mobile.
Does anyone know of a good method to changing the height of the default or stock Android or Google Keyboard?
I am in need of changing the height of my keyboard, preferably like how you can change it in Cataclysm ROM where you can adjust the percentage.
Has anyone else wanted to do this when coming from a ROM that supported this feature and ended up moving to one that doesn't have it?
Any help, tips, or advice is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Hey,
Is it somehow possible to increase the height of the samsung stock keyboard beyond the stock values? I know I can adjust the size in settings but I want to make it bigger because I'm using quite low DPI. I'd there any setting or value I can change in root browser?
Same question for SwiftKey BTW. I know it's possible with gboard but I don't like it.
Thanks.
Good question. I suspect there may be a config file somewhere, but I don't have a clue of the name or location.
See if this might be in the right direction:
