[Q] Download Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Install on Samsung Infuse 4G i997

I came across this article. I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet? I could not find any videos on youtube, so I'm scared to try it myself. It may be credible, however, because the link they provide is to Google's Android site.

GTG or IH8 will have to anwser this ive personally heard that this is a malicious file, but that could be smoke being blown lol. i just updated to infused rom and its basically like gingerbread

I personally decided not to try it. I'll wait for the real thing.

As of now just use trusted Infuse ROM from h8rift and gtg465x.
On this you are sure you are safe and they will do their best to help if something goes wrong, and hey hands up to those two guys, with regards to support, if they include them on customer support rating, IMO they will be on top.

News for mesmerize users!!! TW GingerBread Leak!!!

works on our phones...i am running it on 2 mesmerizes!!! I have an edited build.prop fro our phones, and a ROM made by navenedrob!!!
everything works on this but mms for us, as far as i know, but remember, Its a LEAK, so not everything is stable yet. I am using it as an everyday ROM right now with no issues but mms and on mine the contacts seem really laggy but ohhh well...its GINGERBREAD!!!!! after everything stables out a little, then ill start getting it themed... themes on Gingerbread are different and they take a lil longer to port over so please be patient with the themes
this leak is called EC09 and its 2.3.3 Gingerbread leak...Happy flashing and be responsible cause no one else is taking the blame for what you do to your phone!!!
all credit for this goes to all involved and i take no credit for anything but the build.prop i edited to get off the verizon market...the build.prop will be posted in the dev section for people to use after flashing navenedrob's ROM!!!
please read everything in the posts about the bugs in this ROM and make sure you follow the instructions exactly

Raped mine also, but it's still worth the risk as long as you have a source for sdcards and can swap them out. Back up your data regularly and it's not an issue.
Hoping to pull something good out of all of this rape and sdcard destruction.

I would say highly unlikely. Based on the build, it came out before some of the Froyo updates so it's likely just a tester.

Yes we will .... eventually ... as you can see there have been leaks so its being worked on. They probably are taking their time due to sg2 sales and due to the fact that the 2.3 release for Rogers had bugs to get worked out. My prediction is after the new year. Hopefully I'm wrong. It goes from Google to Samsung so they can load their bloat like touchwiz and then to att so they can load their bloat, then to us

Read, learn, back your phone up. Learn to ROM and root your phone.
GB is in the wild. You don't need to wait on AT&T.

I disagree. Not only are these post unnecessary because they only crowd the forum, but logical thinking would say that yes we are going to get Gingerbread since there are several leaks, meaning they are in the works of getting fixed.
But in regards to the OP, yes we are going to get Gingerbread, its just getting the kinks worked out. Patience... and besides we already have gingerbread. its going to be the same thing basically as the rogers stock rom. just the android version that will be different and maybe some "fixes"

Why would you want it from att? I'm running cm7 and I'm certain that its far better than anything att will ever offer. Whether its ics, gingerbread whatever. Root your phone bro. If you haven't by now. Trust me you're missing out.

Because unless I'm wrong (which I frequently am!) we probably won't have bluetooth or HDMI working 100% until we get an official ATT GB release.
That would be about the only reason to care about an official GB release from ATT.

True that. BUUUUUUUUUUUUT we dont always use HDMI do we? i mean i dont carry my tv around... idk about you guys... though that would be funny.... but anywhore, i see the need for bluetooth but HDMI isnt really that important. it would be beast if we could use it with out the power cord though...

Even if you dont use it, its nice to have everything working 100%. Lots of us WILL use HDMI, just because you wont doesnt mean nobody else will. In fact theres plenty of people who are still on froyo for this exact reason.

I like how people keep saying the rogers has bugs in it. I mean yeah there was the camera thing and no hdmi. Honestly people ive talked to havent cared at all for the hdmi output. The camera though they have. But honestly it runs pretty smooth the phone.......bugs. hmph.

Bluetooth is 100% on Samsung-derived ROMs to my knowledge. Well, it's working as well as stock.
As far as Bluetooth in CM7, LB and I have said this before and we will say it again - The AT&T GB release will do NOTHING to improve that situation in any way, shape, or form.

You are right! And I prob would use HDMI if it worked. Bluetooth actually does work (for me it did) on infused. It worked brilliantly in fact. I may even actually go back to infused just for that reason. It's my only downfall on cm7 but I wouldntbuae it too much anyway so....I guess I'm babbling.

Hmm. I doubt there will ever be an official release of ICS for Infuse. It looks like bootlegs are going to be our only option. I think half the Infuse owners will have upgraded by the time a half-working version even appears. Regardless....let the brick making begin!

I just got done building my first Ice Cream Sandwich. So exciting! Now for the hard part... haha.
I'm starting by porting over the launcher. Wish me luck!

Lack of Dev support for SkyrockeT???? I call it BS. Just an excuse for someone to hate Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. What do you think?
Less than a month and we have 11 ROMs total, some customized and others stock.
But it proves that we have strong Devs working hard for our Device.
Plus all t989 roms that you can use.

I noticed a few of the devs from the inspire over on this forum. Pirateghost is an example. He had a very nice rom in the inspire forum. I'm not worried about it at all. Go skyrocket. I think people aren't willing to wait for it. They open the forum and don't see cm7 or miui and they haul ass. This device WILL get ICS. And its an awesome phone with awesome hardware, I haven had one single problem yet.

Completely agree, I've donated to a couple devs already myself and I'm always ready to donate to more.

I believe there is a lack of devs because everyone jumped on the i777 without knowing that the I727 was coming. However I do believe the i777 is a better overall phone.

Yes the t989 rom's work with rogers, the auto rotate is messed up but you could flash a skyrocket kernel

Yep! Just flash the conversion pack and the Rogers stock kernel right after. They work great. Tested em all. Not as smooth as the SR roms imo

Call att and ask them because unless theres a leak probobly not.going to happen until the ota. You dont want a hacked up unfunctional rom anyway
