restore htc sensation xe to stock non root with s on - HTC Sensation

Hi guys my phone has to go back tomorrow and im not to good with this stuff and it took me forever to root and flash this.
Im trying to get the sensation xe back to stock unrooted. It has went faulty and no signal, its getting picked up tomorrow and i cant seem to see how to do it.
I seem to need an ruu file for it which i cannot find at all. I googled it and had a look, but not quite sure what im looking for.
Once i get it do i install it in recovery. Or through windows
.I downloaded some ruu and i kep getting a 170 usb error or 120 charging error. I think ill be up all night trying to get this to work.
Will flashing stock ruu remove clockwork and other recovery tools

Read the guide in the dev forum

[Q] Sensation Xe ICS Update UK O2

Hiya guys,
I'm so sorry if this question has been asked, I've tried to search through but found nothing that relates to my situation.
I made the switch from iPhone to a Sensation XE and was interested in jailbreaking / rooting.
I successfully S-OFF'd, rooted my XE but haven't been running a custom ROM, finally today o2 pushed the ICS updated and I downloaded it, went to install it and a warning triangle with a little android appeared, obviously I panicked and took the battery out, my phone is working fine now without the update being applied.
My recovery info is:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.111
RADIO- 10.14.9035.02_2
eMMC-boot
I was wondering if I would have to flash a custom ICS ROM to get ICS or if it was possible to install the OTA update whilst keeping S-OFF?
Sorry if I have misunderstood something obvious, thanks for looking.
I'm in exactly the same situation. Would a factory reset solve it or is that only going to restore the OS back to it's original state?

Was it a triangle or a question mark? Having the same issue here, started a new thread about it.
I'm hoping against hope that someone is able to help me through this!

Triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle for me.
I'm guessing I need to remove S-OFF and root from the phone before attempting the update again.
I'd rather get the OTA update than flash it myself.
Why not just flash Stock rom?
Sensationaly sent from my Sensation.
I've looked through some of the other posts and came across this same scenario a few times. It looks like the solution is to re-install the stock rom so the custom recovery is reverted back to stock. This should allow the OTA update.
I'm going to try this tomorrow, will post here if I have any luck.
The chump at O2 Ireland told me on the phone today that ICS was only possible on the Samsung SII.
I genuinely guffawed down the phone
A very nice posting from my ARHD XE
Thanks for the advice guys, my warning thing was a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it and a little android by the side, all buttons were non responsive.
From the sound of it flashing a stock ROM seems to be the only way to go, will try later on and post back.
You can't be rooted to flash an OTA as the system files the ICS OTA patches have to match
Sorry for a noob question but......... ive got a sensation xe,its unrooted on contract from o2
how will i know when there is a ics update for it ? i keep checking on the phone for updates via the "about phone" menue in settings but it says theres no updates,is this the correct way to check or do i download an update via say the HTC website ?
ive never updated a phone before, hence the noobness , sry
I followed step 5 of this guide to remove S-OFF and the OTA update ran fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
I installed the same ROM version that I was on:-
RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed.exe
Thanks ,ive now discovered my phone is S ON so will look into turning it off,im abit worried sky go wont work if i upgrade to ICS tho
Recommend custom ICS rom every time over OTA. You will get far more support and updates from developers than official sources.

Hiya guys, I still havent got round to flashing the ICS OTA, would you recommend custom ICS roms like ARHD?
Hi, new to all this and probably closest thing to do with what I'm trying to do, apologies if it's bumped wrongly or something.
I still haven't managed to get an update from the standard Android version on the XE which I bought new in February.
Can someone tell me which steps in any of the above could help me improve my chances of it please?
I'm in the uk and O2 is my carrier although I' sure that doesn't matter too much.
Any info would be appreciated.

Download the 3.33.401.153 RUU from here: icxperia.com/jonny/RUU/
Please remember to browse to the Sensation XE folder as there is more than 1 RUU my RUU folder then just connect the phone to pc and run the RUU exe file

Brilliant! I'll try that now, from a fellow Cheshire resident too, what are the odds...
Well I gave it a good go initially, started the RUU exe and got to the second screen, but windows pops up with a bubble and keeps telling me the device driver wasn't installed properly which was odd as I presumed it was there before working fine, device manager just has a yellow mark next to android phone, am I being particularly thick here?

Install the fastboot drivers. Right click on the exclamation mark, install device driver software and select the folder.

Going back to stock question

Hi,
Im probably going to have to return my sensation for repair as its having some weird charging issues, anyway when i bought it it came with gingerbread on a vodafone uk firmware, ive s-off'd it and super cid it, then upgraded firmware and installed ics roms. Just wondering whats the best way about going back to stock, my thought was to go back to a GB rom, then OTA ICS upgrade (although as far as return this isnt necessary), so in order to do this what would I need to do, would I have to flash the 1.17 multi firmware then a custom gb rom then a gb ruu? as I tried to use the original ruu that was on my phone when i got it but got a usb error,
Or should I just try a ics ruu
ive done it once before following the guide on here successfully but for the life of me cant remember how
thank them...

[GUIDE] How to Debrand, Rebrand & Flash Stock ROMs to your Sensation
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033
hope it helps...
I used 1.27.161.xxxx RUU from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid
The CID is "VODAP001"
So change CID, run the RUU.
Then when you are 100% certain it's fine change to S-ON.
Ok thaks, but in order for me to flash a GB RUU do I have to flash a GB Firmware first or is that part of the RUU? The other thing is Im supercid atm, should I change it back to the carrier cid for return?

The RUU contains everything you need (firmware including radio, standard recovery and of course the ROM itself). You'll end up with a standard Vodafone bloated HTC un-rooted ROM. You'll still have S-OFF but no custom recovery.
Yes change the CID back either before or after installing the RUU.
You should change it back to S-ON BUT ONLY after you're sure everything is as it should be. There are a few guides on the final step, I'll let you dig them up, IIRC it's a fastboot command.
hmmm now i cant get the RUU to work, i already had an older vodafone ruu but downloaded yours too, when I try the one you mentioned it just hangs at the "verifying information on your android phone. please wait..." screen if I try the one i had it comes up with error [170] usb connection error, i have HTC Driver 3.0.0.007 installed
will try and download the newest ones
EDIT
Managed to do it by extracting the rom.zip from the ruu and renaming it to PG581IMG.zip Is it correct that it should have the large vodafone logo on boot, when I bought the phone (was a used from an online store) they said it was a vodafone handset however it never originally had the logo like it does now

I just checked in Device Manager and it looks like the HTC device driver I used is 2.0.7.8, in Control panel add/remove programs the HTC Driver Installer is 3.0.0.021.
After installing the HTC stuff I then removed HTC Sync.
Check the MD5 of the RUUs, just rechecked mine and they're the same as on that site. for both 1.24.161.xxx & 1.27.161.xxx.
I run mine with the phone on the home screen, I have also seen recommendations that it should be run with the phone in Fastboot mode (from bootloader).
Apart from that I don't know what it may be apart from a suspect USB cable.
GL
Up and running, just wanted to check the vodafone logo on boot is correct?

[Q] Problems getting back to stock

Hi everyone,
I rooted my phone and played around with some custom roms, but I need to send my phone to get it repaired. I attempted to unroot and revert back to stock.
I followed a video, but I can't link it.
The steps were:
Flash the stock recovery.img
Relock the phone
Install the RUU
It was all going smoothly, until I realised my phone is on 2.17 and not 1.26, the RUU didn't work, and now it is stuck in the fastboot menu.
My CID is OPTUS001, is there anything I can do? I've been frantically searching, but I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this.
All help is incredibly appreciated!
your in the wrong forum you need to go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1533
Just download the proper ruu for your software version and run it with your phone connected to your pc in fastboot.

[Q] Flash Back to HTC Stock

So I just spent ages installing Pacman Rom onto my phone, only to realise I've come to the end of my contract and will get an upgrade instead!
I'd like to take it back to a decent HTC stock rom, with an updated Sense and so on, and give that handset to my Mum.
My phone is currently rooted and s-off. As I understand it, I need to:
Create a backup using CWM or similar
Follow this video and use Android Flasher to remove Revolutionary while in Bootloader
Copy an appropriate RUU file to the SD card and install from wthin the Bootloader
Does this sound legit? I've ran into Errors 131 and 140 before while trying to run an RUU off my desktop. Also is it possible just to get an HTC RUU with Android 2.3.5 on it rather than factory 2.3.3?

Hey, I've spent the past few hours searching the forum and googling. Not been able to find the answers so far... Can I just place an RUU.exe and run it off my SD card? It seems removing root using Android Flasher will leave me with Pacman rom... Surely having s-on and a custom rom will mess up my phone?
get PG88IMG.zip and flash it through bootloader

htc sensation z710e rom installation problem?

so i got a htc sensation z710e and works fine, network unlocked.
i have a smart watch but the thing wont work on ics ONLY above so i decided to stick a custom rom on to bring me up to the required android version to use said watch.
my phone has the 127.000 hbooot and it says s on but unlocked above in pink after i ran windroid and unlocked bootloader, it also had root and cm recovery 5.2.0.2 or watever number it was.
so on i went to try and install a custom rom. 1st i did cm-9.1.0-pyramid and it just hung on the cm9 boot up screen THEN i did cm-12-20141205-UNOFFICIAL-pyramid and it goot error 0 so never did nothing. and lastly i tried revolution 1.03 and it was promising went thru all the installation buff and jargon and then same again just hangs on the htc boot logo.
before i install zip files i wipe dalvaik. battery and data i think its called.
i can still get into recovery and hboot but cannot for the life of me get a rom to boot and tbh its draining the life out of me as i havent done a android in yrs.
tried looking for odin and download mode but im unsure if htc has them?
p.s just tried a factory wipe and still the same. hanging at the htc screen.
and advice would be great as i REALLY dont wanna tell the wife i need another 50 qwid for a new phone. she wont be chuffed.
cheers.
UPDATE-- managed to install-rmk-pyramid-stock_ics_3.32.401.3-v1 all working, well apart from no bloody wifi!!. known fault?
so now i think i will have to gain s-off and then move on,,, ??
UPDATE-- managed to gain s-off and that seemed to fix the no wifi? ha,,,, but i had to re unlock the bootloader, also got supser cid
so now im s-off with unlocked bootloader and looking for jelly bean, i think ima go with http://cm-10.2-20131028-albinoman887-pyramid.zip/
hopefully il just eed to exit into recovery and flash and il be golden.... kinda glad nobody replied as it made me batter my own mind working it out
