I've seen a few App Requests posted as threads here, and I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread dedicated to act as a catchall for App Requests. I gather that we have Dev Dudes from major tech corps roaming around these halls, so why not have a list of apps we want as consumers easily available to them!
I'll kick things off with these requests:
-A good, integrated guitar/bass tuner with metronome and practice timer(s)
-Adobe Camera RAW interface
-Adobe Bridge for tablets
-VLC Player for tablets
-DJ mixing software that can use headphone output and HDMI [audio] separately for cue/mix output
Feel free to point us to apps that fill requests as they are developed or if they have existed before the request

I'd like an app that you can instantly take a snapshot of the screen or take a camera snapshot and start to annotate on it right away, e.g you were browsing and came across something of interest and you want to add your own comments and underline or mark a specific area.
I know this can be done using repligo or ezpdf however it will involve a few steps to achieve using the Asus's in built snapshot feature and then converting the document to pdf in order to annotate but I want something instant without having to convert the file first, similar to htc flyers note taking app.
Can't you do this with Evernote? I just downloaded this last night but it seems really slick.

Unfortunately, you cannot annotate using evernote although it is fantastic for taking notes, i use it at work at meetings. I want to be able to take a snapshot of the meeting agenda which is usually printed and then start to add notes against agenda items.
I'm just going to make a list of the things I think will make this brilliant - I'm a very small time developer, and don't have the skills to do these, unfortunately:
Something similar to Microsoft Onenote - Drawing/notes/annotations all in one
"Phone Sync" where you pick up your tablet, and it also becomes your phone for SMS, MMS, Calls, and you can share clipboards between the two - This would be brilliant!
Decent Twitter and Facebook widgets
Modified Launcher with resizable widgets, folders - ideally, LauncherPro optimised for Honeycomb.
I'd like to see the Monkey Island games and some of the old Cinemaware titles such as Defender Of The Crown on Android.

I designed an Android app for tablet which I think would be pretty easy to make, UI, name, logo and all, but... I'm not a programmer. Also I believe this will be an app which would be handy for a lot of people.
Since I designed, thought of and branded the app I really don't just want to give the idea away to anyone, but if any app developer is interested feel free to contact me and I could explain the concept to them.
PS: I don't want a share of the profits or to get paid for it or anything like that, all I would want is to find a developer who could do justice to not only the concept but also to the design since there are so many well functioning but terrible looking android apps.

I'd like an app that can sync via bluetooth (not via the web/cloud), incoming sms messages/caller id/missed call info, from an android phone directly to the transformer with notifications.
I know there are lots which do it via the web, but this isn't an option for me (pre-pay sim not contract).

Another idea for an app, don't know if possible to implement or not. When browsing google search results it would be nice to have an app that lets you see how many kilobytes or megabytes a website requires you to download, before you accessed the page. So that mobile users can see how much data is required and can manage their free allowance better, or not be charged a fortune.
A media player app that can
1. have gesture controls like moboplayer
2. have good codec support like moboplayer
3. can stream from server
4. and can hide the honeycomb taskbar!!!!

did it ever occur to anyone that now that there is a keyboard and mouse capabilities that someone should port an fps to the transformer?
I would love an app/widget that monitored the battery of both the Transformer and the keyboard dock. It's almost impossible to tell how much juice is left in the keyboard. If someone knows of an app/widget or a built-in way to do that, please let me know.
Edit: I would also love to see a folder app that integrates data from the Market, so if I download a game, it automatically adds it to the Games folder, etc.

alternate keyboard
since the dock is still in short supply it would be nice to have the ability to use my android phone as a keyboard/trackpad for my transformer through bluetooth or something. the entire screen could be a landscape keyboard that you could swipe down to access trackpad.
I've been loving Android since the day I switched from IOS, but to this day, I still can't find a good note-taking app (mostly for typed-in notes). On IOS, there are many of these apps that allow typing, drawing, recording audio, outines, fonts, colors, etc (AudioNote, Notability, etc)...
However, in Android, I can not seem to find a singe app that allows me to combine typed-in notes, hard-drawn drawings and audio recording.
I thought those were pretty basic requirements, and they are in teh IOS world - just wondering if I'm missing something or if maybe it's a market just waitng to be had for ANdroid?
Thanks for any help you can offer! I'm currently using EverNote, but it doesn't offer the ability to draw... I see that they just released Skitch as a companion app for EverNote that is for drawing, but it's really not integrated into Evernote...

You can try Extensive notes. It has options for those notes, but not all together in one. You can make a folder that has all the files. You could try emailing the Dev and ask if you can attach drawings to regular notes. I usually just use Extensive notes or beautiful notes for typing and handrite for drawings.
I've been using tabnotes. It's not bad at all. Wish I could cut and paste inside the note like on xournal, but other than that, it's great.

Freenote might be what you are looking for. Though it's not tablet optmised.
I use evernote, but its just really a rich text editor.

If you have Evernote installed, and its sister app Skitch, you can you pretty much do whatever you want.
Another great app is Freenote which allows you to type, draw, handwrite, take photos and import/export pictures.

I'm through and through an Android user but I have to admit the apps on iOs are much more polished. sNote is good but if anyone knows a really polished note taking app, please let me know.

Not sure about weather but have a look at FreeNote and Papyrus. if you search this thread few people have recommended it and provided some good comparison.

the only thing stopping me from using evernote is the missing s pen functionality (pressure sensitive) , at least when i last used it a few months ago..
otherwise its a great app , best note taking...

there is an evernote add on skitch that lets you take notes using S-pen
also the page of skitch is almost infinitely big,
you write in the entire page pinch shrink and whola you have a lot more space...
I think it depends on what your note taking process is (or what you want it to be).
I tried every note taking app I could find and decided Freenote+ was the best for me.
I made a demo video of it here which might help give you an idea of how I use it.
But that was when I was on GB. Now I'm on ICS, I need to find some time to check out some of the other apps that I couldn't use before...
For me, LectureNote is the best.

Depends on what kind of note taking you are trying to do. LectureNote is a really good app for notetaking and seems like it would be perfect for a student.
You could also try Quill.
+1 for Lecture Notes on ICS. Has even succeeded with rendering my beloved fountain pen obsolete ;-)

There was a contest for S-Pen applications before Note10.1 was launched. That contest was meant for Note. But since both have same resolution, I think the apps should work normally also for Note10.1.

I dón't know if it already exists but an application that I would find very interesting for the note family is an score writing one. I mean something like the windows program Sibelius that allows you to write a professional looking score and it has the possibility to export it as a midi file. I think that the S-pen would make the writing much more easy that it is in a PC. In fact the note could probably the most ideal way to actually write an score. And, you know, you could use the lemma "you need a note to properly write a note" .

Any chance for S Pen apps for eBooks?
Do Google Books, Nook, etc. lock their books so that only the corresponding "official" app can open the eBook? I'm wondering if there's any prospect of a third-party developer creating an app that allows us to mark up an eBook with the S Pen, or if we're at the mercy of those official eBook providers.
In theory Google Books offers eBooks in PDF format, but that seems to be a rare option, at least for books published recently.
Regular old everyday Adobe Reader works very well for annotating PDF files with the s-pen.

Autodesk Sketchbook, on the "Phone" Galaxy Note, works great for sketching. I imagine it will be even better on a 10 inch screen. As for Evernote, works just the way it does on all other phones/tablets.
I'd recommend ezPDF for pdf annotation. I had previously been using qPDF but I decided to try ezPDF and its much better. The only thing its that qPDF, unlike ez, allows you to flatten the whole page rather than individual elements, if that's something that maters to you. I emailed the ez dev and he said it would be implemented soon, but until then I still use qPDF just to flatten the whole page.

Unfortunately the button on the S Pen isn't customizable (I Would have liked it to be a shortcut for the eraser). It only works as a shortcut (click + drag down) to open the options menu in the upper right corner.

I had a Thinkpad Tablet for the past year, just switched to the amazing GNote.
Quill is a great app. It was literally developed by Volker by asking daily feedback on the Thinkpad Tablet forum, and releasing lots of updates. He did an absolutely amazing job with it.
But, my favorite inking app is Freenote. The down side is that it is not intuitive to figure out all the features. But, if you like Microsoft OneNote, I think Freenote is the closest thing to it on Android at the moment. Freenote lets you switch between ink/paint/text on the same note; lets you pinch zoom on an object (picture/text/ink) to make it larger, then ink it and pinch zoom back out, and the new ink is smaller relative to the object; powerful use of tags to make "to dos" or calendar entries or web bookmarks, etc., across all your notes, then to see all these scattered to dos/calendar entries/etc. in one view by clicking on that tag.
The thing I most love about Freenote though is that it lets you use a writing area at the bottom of the screen, similar to the Windows Tablet Input Panel that you can dock at the bottom. So, I can tap my cursor anywhere on the page where I want the ink to go, then just write the words very large in the writing area at bottom, and Freenote inserts them in a straight line at the cursor point at an ink height you can adjust in the settings. I love this feature because I have bad handwriting, but if I write ridiculously large in the writing area, it comes out legibly, quickly!

Did you try 7notes with mazec? It does the same thing as free note, but it is a keyboard you can use like that on any note app. I even used it with Color Note. If an app uses a keyboard, I'm pretty sure you can use this app/keyboard to do HWR with it.
Hello, I am on summer vacation. In some promotional videos, the actors/actresses seem to know many undocumented features of the 10.1 2014 and 12.2 PRO. I would like to learn more about the Note PRO 12.2 and be a proficient user of the device. What is the best way to do that? I bough the device for pdf annotation, pdf viewing, productivity, etc. Thanks.

Youtube and Google are your best options. As an example, search Youtube for "galaxy note pro tips" and you'll find a few videos dedicated to the device. Ultimately there's no one-stop-shop for proficiency on a single device other than the instruction manual. Even then, an instruction manual will not cover 3rd party software that you're free to install in order to improve your workflow. Video guides on youtube will only cover features that are important to the creator of the video, not necessarily to all users, so ultimately a series of detailed searches are the best way to learn.
Avoid general searches and start using the software in order to find it's limitations so that you can search in detail for solutions. For example instead of searching generically for "how to annotate pdf on a galaxy note pro" search for "annotate pdf adobe reader android" if you use adobe's pdf reader or "annotate pdf ezpdf android" if you use ezpdf. For third party software you can add "galaxy note" to your searches to see if that helps narrow down specific workflows for s-pen based devices but it's not necessary to specifically search for the note pro.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but if any of us spew out our own workflows it may not mean much if we use software you're not intending to use or purchase.
As for PDF annotation specifically, I've found it to be cumbersome to do on Android for MY SPECIFIC NEEDS so I've given up on it. The PDF documents that I review/comment on are often large/complicated and end up overtaxing the various PDF apps I've tried (and I've tried nearly a dozen different top rated ones) to the point that I give up. That's just me though and everyone else has different needs. Best way to start is try a couple of PDF programs to see what software looks good to you and then search/ask specifically how to annotate using your favorite software package.
There are a few tweaks I needed to get my note pro working like it should (in my mind). Basically, in the Google play store, there is a person that made the ability to add most apps available for multi window. To me, that is huge. AEON TIME. Search for that in the play store. Multi window app manager.
Second, to help me, I got an additional pen. Yes, it's way more expensive. But I need a real feel pen in my hands. Just works for me and maybe will give an idea. Got it from Amazon. Called bamboo pen. Wacom able. But works perfectly for us too. Has a cap.
I used my note pro for true multitasking this summer. Those were two steps that made my note pro work better for me. Good luck.

You won't loose any overlying functionality (like the Spen.). The only thing that wont work are the TW-only S-widgets (S-note, S-calendar(Use Today instead).) For PDF viewing, Perfect Viewer (free comic reader) has a (free) PDF plugin. It's a comic reader that's used to massive files, so less issues handling big files. For PDF viewing, Perfect Viewer (free comic reader) has a (free) PDF plugin. It's a comic reader that's used to massive files, so less issues handling big files. Don't forget you get a 1 year Evernote Premium subscription with any Note device. Nifty little app for notetaking, and it does handwriting now.

Great suggestions! I actually have some questions for you since you seem to be an experienced user of this device;
I've asked other users on which app allows you to have the capability of making your own annotations to files such as .pdf or .doc and etc (similar to the screen write feature of the s-pen). But do you know of an app that can open up those files and you can edit it from that app itself?
And also, I've recently bought my Note Pro and I was wondering how I can retrieve my Evernote Premium subscription? Thanks in advanced!

As far as annotating word files goes what you're asking for is impossible, the word file .doc format doesn't support having comments in graphical layers regardless of whether they're bitmap or vector based. On the PDF side it's possible and there's many different software options but each has its own features so its best to try them out.
I'm currently using qPDF and find it to be ok for annotation of PDF files of small to medium size and complexity so long as all i'm looking for is to jot down a few notes or highlight areas.

To be honest I haven't much experience with PDF annotations on a tablet. What I do, I do in OfficeSuite Pro. I'm the designer, not the editor, so I'm on the Adobe Indesign end of the annotation cycle. In theory Adobe Reader should work, but I can't get it to save without an account.
Open up Evernote. Usually it pops up straight away. If it doesn't, open up the 'Explore Evernote' option, it should be in the list. (Icon looks like a horn).
