I think many people have asked about this but I recently got a Droid 2 Global from a friend and I recently rooted the stock ROM, I noticed a thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1345071
I was wondering would that work for a stock Droid 2 Global?
Or could anyone help in providing me the steps to be able to unlock my Droid 2 Global for T-Mobile if it's even possible..
System Version: 4.5.608.A956.Verizon.en.US
Model Number Droid2 Global
Android Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version : N_01.80.00R
Kernal Version : 2.6.32.9-gb92e69
Build Number: 4.5.1_57_D2G-38
You need to perform the SIM unlock first.
Afterwards, follow the instructions in the thread you linked. That's all.
Is the only way to do the SIM Unlock to call Verizon? Because I'm not a verizon user, Are there any workarounds

There's a very small chance that you might obtain the correct unlock code from various online unlocking services. Sometimes it happens. Most of the time, it doesn't.

Look for eBay listings for unlock codes from a user named "Unlock_Fusion".
I paid $6 for a D2G unlock code and the code worked. I've tested both an AT&T and T-Mobile SIM with success. (of course, I applied the band unlock that was posted earlier in this thread)

I also just purchased a code from "Unlock Fusion". Worked perfectly.
I might have to look into that

Hey Everyone,
I am trying to get my phone unlocked and used the service of cellunlocker to get the unlock code. The code didnt worked though. Can someone suggest me a service to get the working unlock code. My phone is currently locked to rogers.

Aha.. yeah.. that should be the problem. I was trying to enter the code with rogers sim inside.
Will try to re-enter it with foreign sim tommorow and will update. Thanks danifunker.
I had an unlock code from them. The actually unlock code is one of the 8 digit blocks in the middle of the code they sent you. The unlock code is only numbers, no letters.

The unlock code should be one of the 8 digit groups you noted. If they don't work, contact the seller.

Verizon is CDMA, AT&T is a GSM network....so....it's not gonna work
(as far as I'm aware)
Hi there,
I have a Tesco 1st Gen Moto G and I recently upgraded to Lollipop.
It works fine now, but after getting a new Sim Card, when I put it in, I get the Sim Lock Code message. I've previously unlocked the phone and I'm unsure whether it is a Network lock (Like Tesco lock) that has somehow came back after the flash - Or if it's a lock that I have put on the phone. (Would that carry over after flash?)
So confused right now and I only have one attempt left before I'm locked out.
Please help. You're my only hope.
Sounds to me like a sim lock. I have flashed ROMs onto many different phones and the security lock from one ROM has never carried over to the new ROM.

Thanks mate. Much appreciated.
I've tried three different suppliers.
Each have said that my phone is not on the database.
(I'm assuming it is unlocked?)
Did you get the imei # by using the dial pad?
Yeah man - On all three occasions the vendor had to reimburse me.
I genuinely don't get it - but I've even tried resetting my PIN with my PUK and even that won't let me edit it.

I explain with more details. In december, I had a new sim from a new provider. I tried the unlock code my former one gave me. It didn t work. Then I contacted 3 different merchant on eBay. My phone was also not found. But after a few days each time, they sent me a code. The 3 merchants gave me the same code I already had !
See this video : Unlock SIM Codes not working on Moto G first Gen …*: http://youtu.be/i883Nk6LuZE
At this time I was on DU ROM (KitKat).
One day I was deseperated ^^, I flashed CR Droid ROM (lollipop)... And with the same code, I unlocked my phone.
It was a soft problem. That s why I told you to try with another ROM (full wipe)
Maybe you will be lucky as me.

Hmmm - This is interesting. I've not got the original code that I got when I first unlocked it - And each vendor I bought from said my IMEI was not in the database.
Gutted.
So you think I should flash the rom?
A shame you don t have the original code... Not sure flashing a new ROM will solve your problem (but you have nothing to loose).
I know a guy on eBay very efficient who sales code for 2 bucks. Do you want his contact ?

Bought the 3 on eBay from a seemingly reputable seller. Advertised as an unlocked device Received yesterday. Updated immediately to q beta. OEM unlock switch is not usable. Just greyed out. Is it because I'm on q or because they sold me an unlocked Verizon phone? Thanks

Pretty much guaranteed the seller sold you a carrier unlocked Verizon phone. Most people do not associate unlocked with bootloader unlocked.

Check the first two digits of the IMEI. If it is 35 it is a VZ phone.

All Verizon phones, including the Google phones are bootloader locked and are not unlockable. Verizon does not want to sell unlockable phones and has not done so for some time.
The only chance is if someone finds a hack to get it done. There are threads here where those efforts are talked about, there has not been my any real progress. If you want an unlockable bootloader you need to by the pure Google Store version.

With it being a T-Mobile OP7, getting the sim unlock is through TMobile. Unless it's already been done, check with the person that you got it from.

No. Sim unlock is completely different than bootloader unlock. you will have to contact t-mo for sim unlock.
