[Q] pulling down Notification in full screen games/apps - General Questions and Answers

i was wonder is there a script for rooted phones that allows user to pull down there notification bar in full screen app/games ???? cause i really hate playing a game then getting a notification and having to exit the game to see what the notification is about i know theres a app that does it called bird bar but i would like to know if it can be written in the system?? anyone??? thanks

i dont think got apps like that

I think it is not possible, then after you can bring up the pop-up but if you click, you get out of the game.

[[Idea]]Notification bar Multi tasking((Picture))

So i have been working on something for awhile it started on paper and Made an example in Photoshop. the Idea is you open the notification bar and you swipe left and right to move through open applications and swipe up to end them Check out attachment.
PS: I am not a programmer so I cant make this happen I just thought of it..
BTW: can you control applications from the notification bar?? if not then this is worthless...
That would be really, really good. And I like your mock-up concept as well.
Sort of like the new Dolphin HD tab browser.
You should suggest this to one of the Launcher devs.
good..because the notification bar is always on top..will be great for multitasking.
That's why I tried to do in TaskOS ( free on the Market.)
I do not use the notification bar, but a long press on the search button ( if your device doesn't have one, in the settings you can choose camera button and will try to add more)
The screenshot should be working in some custom realease of CyanogenMod..

Putting something like this in place of long pressing the home button would be the best way I would think.
I like the idea *!*!
possible? Maybe. I think of the interaction of seepu+ as an interaction example, but I don't even wasn't to think about the memory that would suck up.
Do you plan on having all the apps in memory up there? Cause that's gonnna be alot of swiping to find what you need.
Also you already have the hold down home button. That's accessible even with the notification bar hidden (various browsers, apps hide the not. bar).
I really don't get the desire to have thumbnails on handhelds for what the activity is doing. 1) they will always bee too small to use by glancin 2) you know what your switching to, before you even bring up the recent apps function. 3) There is very little "visual" activities done on a phone that warrant a "preview" in order to choose which you want to pick.
All of you could also try Power Strip and Quick Desk for great multitasking usage with the search and homescreen buttons
ITS a CONCEPT not going to happen by me...
yes, multitaslk view is more important
i like your idea of thumbnail view of each programs running in the background. it allows us to look through all running programs, instead of small icons
If it is possible, it can be shown either using the search or home button
Good concept, but I'd be thinking of using the icon of the software instead of screen preview. Better for privacy...

its a great freakin concept. a great developer should take a look at this. i would no doubt pay for this
yes I think this is the ****! we don't need the system programs that are running, just the user programs...

The system can't differentiate between what programs the user launched and which were launched into memory automatically.

Well, it can eliminate system programs, and widgets, and programs with no launcher icon, and services, and...
so Anyone interested in making my concept a reality??

What is your problem with the apps that we send you? They do exactly what you want exept they are not in task bar ( because we cannot "draw" into the taskbar)
TaskOS
Power Strip
Quick desk
The "screenshot" will be available in some custom ROMS:

[APP][2.0+] Statusbar enabler in full screen app - Smart Statusbar

This app is developed by the same Dev who makes the popular Android Apps Button Savior, Smart Taskbar, and Everywhere Clipboard.
Smart Statusbar is the first and only statusbar enabler for full screen apps on android devices. No more lose track of time or important info on statusbar when you are reading, playing, or watching movie.
To enable statusbar, just do a simple top down swipe from top of screen. By default, statusbar will shows 5 seconds. You can also adjust the timeout to your preference in settings.
Please note. This app doesn't work on Honeycomb and ICS based Tablets. They are very different from phone version of Android. So no statusbar hidden problem on those tablets. So do not download if you want to use it on ICS or HC tablets.
NO ROOT REQUIRED!
FEATURES
☆ Reveal statusbar in full screen apps
☆ Gesture activation
☆ Works on 2.0 and up
☆ Adjustable statusbar enabling duration
☆ Vibration hint

jerryfan2000 thanks for bring another amazing tool for us. This app is simply amazing. wow!
By the way, is it possible to disable statusbar by gesture instead of timeout?
This feature is already in my mind. I will for sure add it.

I thought my setting was too few too simple. Great that you likes the simple setting design.
Hello,
Is that possible to add a mod in order to make all the applications in full screen ?
Great app, I've got a handfull of requests/observations but please don't think I'm complaning at all, the app does exactly what it's supposed to, I've just got a lot of idea's. I second Prockkaii's post about making all apps full screen, I would love to see that added to this. I know in CM7 there's you can make holding menu hide the statusbar but you have to do that for every app and I don't believe it sticks after a reboot. Also a bottom statusbar option would be nice and just so you know when I tried using the bottom statusbar in cyanogen I couldn't bring the statusbar up with the top gesture either. It would also be nice to be pulling the shade down from the gesture instead of swiping once to bring up the statusbar and then a second time to slide down the shade. It would also be nice if the bar would pop up automaticaly on a notification.
In reply the request from IvanNCase and Prockkaii. I indeed had plan to add this feature but i am still trying. It is not easy. So maybe will never make it at all. But I will try my best to introduce this feature.
Request: try to make it use less Ram if you can

Thanks for the feedback.
In fact, my fear is that I'd used my Galaxy s2 for about 6 months, and during this period I'd never activate the rotation and all my applications are showing the status bar.
And now on a white screen, I see that there is a mark of the status bar. On right side, I can even see the mark of the battery.
So that's why I would like to have this feature and not remove the status bar.
But again thanks for you apps.

I noticed that during the development phase too and I don't understand why SB is slightly visible. I will investigate this issue continously.

I think you have a screen issue like me.
I'm currently using the pixel fixer in order to fix that. I'm running it for about 2 or 3h per day, let's see what happens in 2 weeks.
Awesome!
Working like a charm so far! HTC Inspire 4G, LordClockan ICS 4.0.3. Keep up the good work! Exactly what I was looking for.
tried this out on my Galaxy Nexus and it worked perfectly as described. However, there is some lag that it particularly noticeable when scrolling through home screens and the app drawer. Once this lag is fixed/eliminated then this app will be perfect!

Cool man.. its a very useful app..
Great application.
I wanted something like this on Android since i've tested iOS 5 on one of my friends iPhone 4 that i've been asked to jailbreak.
Thanks. Works great on Desire HD with ICS.
great feature, but there seems to be small lag between swiping and popping up..maybe you can find a way to remove this lag..but i really like it!

No lag here. The status bar appears instant as soon as I get the finger off the screen.
Thanks man!

[Q] Bottom bar placement

Hi
So love the note just one pet peeve, I regularly accidentally end up touching the bottom bar with my palm while writing, which opens up the notification bar. Is there any launchers or mods that will give me the option to move it to the top?
Thanks
I was always hitting the menu instead of the space bar, but there's an app that sort of helps your situation called "full!screen" (note the '!' in the name)
You can find it on the play store, free and paid versions - doesn't move it to the top but lets you hide the status bar etc at will - pro version lets you do it automatically on an app by app basis. Installed it about a week ago and absolutely loving it - give it a go

Full Screen - No Notification bar

Hi guys, just picked up one of these puppies.
Is there anyway to get it to play games etc in FULL SCREEN, i know the notification bar, dulls its icons and makes them dots, but id still like to play things without the bar all together.
I maybe missing something, is there a way to do it, or do i have to root and install a custom rom?

You at least have to root then i think there are apps or mods to hide the bar
You may try this (although i didnt try it myself): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tsorn.FullScreen&feature=search_result
Thanks that worked great!
