Hi guys, as the title says can we use 32gb sd card on our Sensation xe? Not that I don't do my homework, its just that I wanted some feedback on the users that actually tried that. I read it work, and it doesn't. Just a little confuse. Thanks guys!
Yeah I have 32GB SanDisk and it works fine.

If you did your "homework" what made you think you couldn't?
You can even use that 64 GB SDHX (or whatever it is called) from San Disk.
It's quite expensive, but is said to work just fine.

Yes
quite simply put, it can be used, but I've noticed my XE has become slower at reading photos/pictures from it, not sure if the RAM can handle it comfortably

I'm thinking about that too, speed surely matters.

Dear All,
I recently bought a Sandisc 1GB SD Card for the XDA II (Himalaya) and ever since then, (in a span of about 2 weeks); my phone had to be hard reset 6 times! Is there anyway to prevent this or any solution to this problem? I have been using a 128MB card for nearly 1.7 years in the XDA and never had even one hard reset but suddenly after changing cards, I have had this problem. Would greatly appreciate any solution/idea/suggestion. Thank you.
Cheers, Vikas.
mate, xdaII can only accomodate 512 MB of storage card. thats all i know.

I don't think it's really accurate what ur saying,I have a 1GB in my Himalaya MDAII for about 3 months now....and it's running more than perfect...
@vikasmal:I donno if the SD is the what's causing u those hard resets...but anyway, have u tried formatting it FAT not FAT32?
Try then let me know.....
RAGO
not very helpful, but i have been using a PNY 1GB SD card in my xda2 for over 6 months without a hitch, the only thing that has caused mine to require a hard reset is some programs, trick is to install a new program then see how it runs for a few days before installing any others.
might be worth trying a different make of SD card if you know anyone that is willing to lend you one. a few mates have used cheaper ones that have caused quite a few problems, not sure what though.
Hi, thanks for your reply Formatting this in FAT, how should I do that? With my XDAII on the USB cradle or with a card reader?
Sorry for the silly question but am a little lost on this.
Thanks.
Vikas.

Thanks but the 1GB seems to work fine for a few days and then hard reset. Then ok for a few days and again hard reset.

Thanks Macca,
Maybe its the brand but thought Sandisk was a good one :-(
Haven't installed any new programmes other than the ones I was already using on my 128MB card. So that is why am quite puzzled.

Hi,
I've been using a 1gig Sandisk Card for about 6 months & have never had to do a hard reset (unless taking the battery out too swap sims).
I didn't have to format it or anything, just got it out of the packet & put it in.
not much use to your problem but it may rule out the card??
Thanks Floody,
Appreciate it. Have done a format in FAT and NOT FAT32 for the Sandisk card and for the last three days, no hard reset. Hope it works this time around. Knock Wood
Cheers, Vikas.

It's not slow? What is making you say that? If you are referring to USB transfer speeds that is not the sdcards fault.

nobody can because we don't know what you're talking about. the nexus s accesses the file system at a very fast rate.
he probably means that he has slow transfer rates form pc to internal sd card, if that so, then maybe this help him.
Mine is slow to my files will only transfer at 1.4-1.9 m and my wifes same phone copys at 8-9m/s any way to fix this

Yes, don't bring up old topics. And use the search function.
But otherwise there's many ways. Transfer from within CWM. Use MTP. Or check my signature, even!

Btw, I have a 8 GB SD with Class 4 and its not that fast as I thought. Whatever... thanks for the info.

simply go to market ,,,
search SD Speed Increase..........
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sdincrease.it&feature=search_result
did you guys actually notice any "speed increase" after you used that app??
well, I tried it on my 16gb class4 (as well as 4gb class2) card...and the difference is bare minimum...
infact, if I wasn't paying attention to that "speed" thing, I would have barely noticed anything...
so, did it actually work for anyone??

There is a program of the SD Speed Increase which can be adjusted up to 4096 kb. I do not know how much I need to configure it for my Micro SD Card.

if we using SD Speed increase is there a chance to broke the SD Card?

i dont think so because in the app cpu master free there is an option to increase the sd card speed..i had done it once and i dint face any problems..........
Of course there is a market app but it may slow down boot time as it must run on every boot...running script in init.d folder is the best way
maybe know u didn't face any problem, but in the future? dont know either
Well honestly cant say anything abt future..but i experienced slow write speed after partitioning n moving apps to sd ext..previously write speed was well btwn 5-6mbps but now its 3-4mbps..using class 4 8 gb

I've noticed for the 2nd time, after shooting a good amount of videos which are saved to my 128gb micro sd. My phone starts slowing down, even when videos not being viewed or video app running in the background.. I did a factory reset thinking it was something to do going from root to stock but still the issue still persistent.. I have a Samsung Evo + sdcard.. Anyone else??
have you run out of memory? or is it saving the files to the sd card which can slow down for while

Negative I have plenty of internal memory available, just set the camera to default to the sd card since I got it. See the slowing down is within minutes of recording.Hard to explain to describe but it's definitely happening.. Oh I understand what you meant it can be a day later and still slows down.

So even am too using a Samsung evo+ ultra 128gb sdcard ..
This happens for me too , what I did is , rename the extensions of .mp4 to .hhh or any which can't be recognized . so that my camera app wont have access to the current videos and the lag is gone . give it a shot .
PS: use esfile explorer to change the extension of bulk videos in single step
