Hi,
Anyone can tell me what files do I have to remove from stock (rooted and deodexed) official Desire S (Sense 3.0) rom, to remove the HTC Locations application and all its parts?
Thanks in advance.
If you are rooted, and like me you hate HTC locations sticking it's nose into all things, your are best off just using titanium backup to freeze it. Not sure what problems would occur of you deleted it.
I've frozen locations and locations widget and all location and map based stuff now defaults back to google maps.

Yes I already tried deleting Locations and its widget with Titanium. It does the job. But now I want to remove it from rom's zip even before I flash the rom. There are several files need to be removed, I just don't know which.

Maybe my first post was too complicated, so I'll ask this in a simple manner.
Why don't I have any app installed after flashing to Leedroid 3.0.8.2?
It should come with loads of apps but none is installed except the base rom.
I used the following rom.
LeeDrOiD_V3.0.8.2_GB_A2SD.zip 2011-Jun-28 22:06:33 177.4m
after a few wipes resets I got it, except for the launcher2, that one appeared after installing go launcher ex??!!
Solved!

Hi Guys I had a quick question. I have been using Insert Coin Rom for the last few weeks and love it. However I have never been able to get the market to download some of my banking apps. I know thats because the build.prop and other things like that define the phone as the European model. So I tried to change the various lines in it and couldn't get it to work. So I downloaded the Android Revolution ROM which I also have used and love. I noticed it had a folder called additions and in it was a Tmous folder that had a different build.prop and different GPS file and a few other things.
So basically what I did was just copy these files from the Revolution rom and pasted them into the zip of the InsertCoin Rom and then reflashed and it worked. My market now knows what my phone is. I also pasted in some files from the lib folder.
So onto my question. Is there anything negative that willl come from this that I don't realize? Does this mess up my insertcoin rom by pasting in the entire build.prop and a few other files from the Android Revolution HD rom?
Try Market Enabler.

Tried that as well as Market Access app. Neither of these would work. I just copy and pasted the config file from the Revolution rom to the insertcoin rom then flashed. I am curious as to why some developers make a folder called additions or tmous and have the phone checked and if it is tmous it installs the stuff from the seperate folder. Makes things so much easier. I know CtDroid and Android Revolution HD roms do this. Insertcoin rom does not do this as far as I know.
Currently Running Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2 and I have lost the ability to stream from my phone via DLNA to my Smart TV.
Is this something I can flash over this ROM or is it a feature of only the stock and Sense ROMs?
I really like the feature for sharing my pics from the gallery over WiFi to the TV.
Anyone with any suggestions, I really appreciate it.
Wink
search dlna on market! alot of app
Hi - There are many that stream from ....I want to....
Its a new feature in the STOCK HTC Sensation ROM. but missing in the Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2 ROM
I can do those things with the HTC gallery so i guess you have to pull out 2 APKs from a Sense ROM (HTCAlbum.apk and maybe HtcDLNAMiddleLayer.apk). Just download any Sense ROM and open the zip, find the two apks mentioned under system/app. Put them in system/app folder in your phone using Root Explorer app and touch and hold the apk and choose permission to set the permission to rw-r-r then reboot. I'm using HyperNonSense (its a sense base rom without HTC Sense) and did something like this to have NetworkLocation. Correct me if i'm wrong, i think VI is also Sense base so it should be ok to put some HTC apps in there...
Hi - I actually tried that before you posted but without success. The HTC Album appears in my drawer but when I open it and select pictures/video/music it FC's
I copied from another ROM as many APKs I could find that looked to be involved in the DLNA proccess
Any more thoughts...Come on lets crack this!
After putting the two apks in system/app folder and setting their permissions, try installing HtcDLNAMiddlelayer.apk like a normal apk... Then reboot...
Dont forget to do a Nandroid back up before all this...

hey everyone. I installed the rom HTC Sense 4.0A Build #2 by derefas, (thankyou for the build man) however it doesn't have the friendstream htc hub and htc likes. As some people don't use it much but I need it. I downloaded the apk of them but because they are system apps thus they can't be installed.
Can someone please copy these apps friendstream htc hub and likes from there phone and make a flashable update.zip of them. I really need those.
I tried to make it myself but I'm new at this stuff the zip could not be flashed. I'm using Yannou90's recovery.
even i want ALL the HTC app's
I dont know how to create a update.zip file but you can use dsixda's kitchen to modify the rom as you like!
I just flashed Cyanogenmod 10.1 in my OneS C2.
But I like the stock note apps a lot because it can access Evernote notes offline.
Is there someway to install the Stock note in Cyanogenmod?
I tried to put
HtcNotes.apk
HtcNotesPainterView.apk
HtcNotesProvider.apk
libnotes_jni.so
libnotesprovider_jni.so
into correct folder under /system/app and /system/lib and reboot but it just wont work...
Any clue? Thanks.
He HTC apps need the sense framework which is only present in sense-based Roms.
Cyanogenmod is aosp based, so it wont work. Same reason why we cant get the sense camera into cyanogenmod.
And if you insert such files, make sure to set the right permissions rw-r-r

A much simpler solution would be to just install Evernote from the play store.
