Im running Hashcodes cm-9-02-09 ics rom and iv been playin with boot animations of my phone but i cant get it work on the kf, iv seen some threads moving the boot animation to data/local but i think thats meant for the stock rom. In cm9 the boot animation is in system/media but when i rename everything correctly it doesnt work it just boots with a black screen. anybody else figured this out?
im a huge fan of portal so im trying to get a aperature labs boot animation

I know I know its one of these threads. I have looked everywhere and cant find it, but I believe myself to have a very specific issue.
I am running ACS - Leaky Gingerbread and I want to have the Droid Charge's boot animation and boot sound. I downloaded the system dump and adb pushed the .qmg's over to my phone.
I pushed:
/system/bin/playlogo
/system/bin/playsound
/system/media/bootanimation
/system/media/bootsamsung
/system/media/bootsamsungloop
Now when I boot it shows nothing at all but a black screen until widget locker pops up. What gives? what am I missing?

my Thunderbolt is running CM7 and I was able to put the stock Thunderbolt boot animation on it. The problem is there is no sound for the boot animation, when the phone was stock it played a thunderstorm noise during the animation. When I put the stock animation on CM7 I did copy over an audio file that should have worked but doesn't. Can anyone help me get the audio to work?

So, I just installed the ODIN version of drhonk's Bali 3.3 kernel over my stock froyo KD1. Everything is working beautifully, however, the start up boot animation looks really strange, as it has the stock boot as usual, but with the android label floating over top the stock boot. Kind of like the 2 different boot animations mixed with each other. Can anyone help me put the boot animation back to normal? Or even just help me put a prettier boot animation on this?

you have to remove the bootanimation from system/bin (or etc..i forget which one)
keep the one in system/media

i am trying to find or make a good custom boot animation im currently on valhalla black edition(kj6) and I wanted something else other than the google boot animation. I'm new here, so yeah.. I've rooted my HTC M8 and I've been trying to change my boot animation. I've gotten Rom toolbox, boot animations app, downloaded a few. I've tried changing them manually by going to system/customize/resource, data/local, system/media, nothing! I've tried flashing them, but when I swipe in twrp, it installs then goes dark, and restarts without success. The only one that changed by both manual and flash was a catching fire boot animation. But all I was able to change was the sound from a catching fire boot animation

Even though it didn't change, the catching fire zip is still there.. in system/customize/recourse
Please help I've tried everything and I'm out of ideas!!!
