anyone has a working version of the HTC Family or does it even work on sense 3.0 rom? I've found a version online and put under system/app and changed permission for both Amaze 4g running sense 3.0 and Sensation 4g running sense 3.5 and not working.
In Amaze, the app won't even launch, just FC right away. In Sensation, the app will launch, shows intro and requirement, when tap on "next" the app FC as well.
Just wondering anyone else has this app in their phone and working.
thanks,

AOSP Style Contacts/Dialer APK
I have a simple request. I will be purchasing the HTC Sensation 4G in a few days and we all know that for the most part root isn't available. As a result, I will be forced to use HTC Sense 3.0 until root is established and Custom Roms become available. I will probably use ADW EX as my launcher, but I will be stuck with the HTC Sense Dialer/Contacts. Is there any brave soul out there that can create a dialer/Contact apk that is the same as the AOSP version that can be installed without root? There are a few mods/fixes out there that require root to move the dialer.apk to the main system folder etc but obviously since the Sensation doesn't have root yet I will not be able to use those. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE STOCK HTC DIALER & CONTACTS APPS... I am willing to donate to the person that figures this out....also I'm sure I am not the only person interested in this so uploading the apk to the android market could prove profitable for you also? Here are some examples:

Remember it has to be installed "Unknown Sources" style or a market link etc....
Bump: this would be awesome will donate also

NoClutterSense. Sense - without the clutter!
This ROM removes nearly every HTC stock app and replaces them with their AOSP counterparts. It also removes every HTC widget except the clocks, as I understand and think these are the best part of Sense. I have also not removed the Sense lockscreen, as the general feedback on that has been overall good.
This ROM is quite literally blazing fast.
There are more than 100 apps removed altogether, so I'm not listing them here. But I will list what has been replaced.

Download! There are some bugs, listed here:
Messaging app crashes on startup, but does send message. Download GO SMS to work around this for now.
The Setup Wizard does not work correctly. It defaults to UK English, but of course you can change that in Language and Settings, which does work.
You cannot get into Wireless and Networks, but both mobile data and WiFi do work correctly. Download WiFi Manager from the Market and connect to WiFi.
I have not removed HTC Dialer, but the AOSP phone application is there and if you press Phone shortcut in the dock, select Phone AOSP and select it by default.
Calendar application does not work. Right now, I have no idea why.
Viewing Application settings in Manage Applications crashes the Settings app. I currently have no fix/work around for this.
Screenshots coming soon!

Heck Yeah! The roms are shipping in
awesome, cant wait for this! the dev section is just exploding!
Can't wait for this...I like the idea of sense without the widgets...but would it be possible for us to add any of the stock apps back...I like the sense calendar better than the stock one.
Ugh. Dont made a thread about a rom until it's release. I'm annoyed.
Yes this is nice, i dont like the sense, but why you keep the sense launcher? What a point the rom without sense if you keep sense launcher?
Thank you!!

this rom is still being finished. There are some bugs, listed here:
the messaging app crashes when sending a message, but the message still sends
when removing htc's phone app, the phone app force closes incessently
the wireless and networks page in the settings does not work; it force closes the settings app
selecting an application to view its info in manage applications page crashes the settings app
if anyone knows any solutions for any of these bugs, please notify me asap so i can fix them; either pm me or post in this thread.

Now we have two rom threads without a rom. Annoying.
Guys, this will be released today, probably with the bugs. Then I can let other users/devs fix them if they'd like
About removing the Sense launcher; then it would be nearly AOSP. I wanted to create a ROM where it was AOSP and Sense, but Sense was complete barebones.
I'm going to add options to reinstall the Sense apk's as well

As this ROM is based on mike1986's Android Revolution HD (for now) I have asked permission to use the ROM. However, the kernel is stock (also, for now).
Had a slight scare there, for some reason framework-res.apk wouldn't zipalign turns it out it was corrupted. Dunno how that happened. All fixed now though
Trying to get the ROM to boot with the stock kernel. For some reason it hangs on the splashscreen.
S'all good - ROM is booting with stock kernel Some way down the line (read: end of August) I'll be replacing this stock kernel with a proper, custom kernel, with overclock, underclock etc. But I'm still learning this, so please, bear with me
well done mate

You really felt it necessary to quote the entire OP as if we don't know what you're referring to? Really? And it states in the OP that screenshots are coming soon..
This rom sounds quite promising, I'm gonna give it a try when its released. Will there be an option to remove Sense altogether? Please say yes :3
will this be released before ★SupraROM★ ?

Same question
I'm trying, I'm trying. Mike's said he'd rather I didn't use his ROM as base - and I can see why he says that - but he's helping me create my own ROM.
Meanwhile, I may release a version based on Mike's ROM (temporarily) so I can get the ROM fixed up and ready for official release on my own base.
Anyway, stay close to my Twitter for all the latest news!
Anyone else keep getting sense restarting after coming out of an app?
Nope... Not got any other launchers installed have you?
I'm sure this question gets asked daily. It's because the sensation doesn't have that much memory, and sense 3.0 is hogging too much of it. A change of launcher bypasses the issue.

strange, my device always has 150+mb free when idle, and 200mb+ when i clean my prog-list,
do you actualy close any programs, or only just use the home-icon.
only a different launcher would not change much, sense will still be present.
No, it's the sense launcher itself that causes the issues, and it's that which keeps restarting, hence seeing the HTC screen while it starts up again. Using a different launcher bypasses the issue entirely, though you do lose the ability to use sense widgets. You still use the sense keyboard and can use HTC's apps though.
I never use the home icon as I don't like leaving apps running, I always quit out of them properly if I can help it. Sense takes up too much of the phone's memory, so when you try to change or exit tasks it runs out of memory and can't do it, hence sense stops and restarts from scratch. Seems to happen more the more apps you have on the phone.
Are you rooted?

I am now, but it was doing it beforehand too. Hence why I use a different launcher.
I have noticed that on my Sensation the Sense interface restarts every time I close the market using the "Back" key after installing or upgrading one or more apps.
It does not happen if I go back home using the "Home" button...Can anyone else confirm this trend?

Do you have spareparts installed and if you do is app management set to aggressive?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e with Beats Audio using xda premium
I used to have the same problem on stock ROM not-rooted so I rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM. This solved my problem and i have no more random reboots.

I had this same issue and just removed spare parts and bingo it's not crashing any more. Spare parts was kinda pointless on gingerbread as the battery history was the main thing I used it for but that doesn't work on gb.
Thanks d3vilskid
Edit: spoke too soon.... Stopped happening with browser and home key. But still happening with market place and back button.
If u have root u can try the market app ram manager it balances ram for everyday. Use and the paid version can free ram for multitasking And gaming
Cyanogenmod Nightlies
Tdj's Demonspeed v10 Kernel
ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0
You can add HOME_APP_ADJ=1 to the build.prop file, and that will prevent Rosie (the launcher) from being killed/restarted by the memory manager.

True! Just did it yesterday and problem solved! Not a single reload since. And I had a LOT of them. Unfortunately you have to be rooted...

search for rorycs post, he explained it .
Hi, i recently updated my sensation to ICS but it was causing errors and the phone was constantly restarting so i decided to do a factory reset. Now all is running smoothly but the HTC widgets i originally had such as the notepad and battery widget have gone.
Don't have the widgets option in the ICS HTC Hub either, any help?
Cheers, Mark
Currently using the widget from the EVO 3D for now, not the same and doesn't seem to match the proper reading. Anyone got the sensation battery widget apk?
if its the battery widget from the htc hub your looking for this is it
Is it just me or does this battery widget seem to want access to everything on the phone, there really is no need for it to have access to some of these things!
Thank you so much. I've been searching for this widget and my HTC hub doesn't work with a ICS custom ROM.
I think I found a way to make ics HTC hub work. When I first installed I skipped signing into the hub first thing , then I found it NOT to work after when I tried to sign in later . However if during the very first install you sign into the hub as soon as it asks then the HTC hub WILL work for the rest of the time. I figured this out during the process of installing several different roms. At first I was skipping the process of signing into the hub first thing during set up and that's when it never would work again. But then I tried siginning in during set up and found if I do that the HTC hub WILL continue to work for me. It will ask during first set up to sign in. Do it! Because if it's skipped it will continue to not work even if you sign in later. This has been my experience with HTC HUB. Now mines working fine when before it would never work. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference for you. However, I'm running Ordroid 9.0.0 but its a 4.0.3 or ics base also. With sense 4. Hope this helps. It's worth a try. Works for me.

ya i have noticed this too most of the permissions are not required
Is there any way to get the sense keyboard for AOSP ROMS? I've searched throughout the forums as well as online and have found a few 'themes' on google play (none free so haven't tried) and always come across the same HTC_IME.apk. However, I cannot install it, and when I move it to the /systems/apps directory and give it the proper permissions, it still doesn't work. I continuously get 'Unfortunately, HTC Sense Input has stopped working'. Is there anyway to get the Sense 5.0 keyboard or even the sense 4.0/4.5/4+ keyboard ?
I'm using PACman ROM (22.0.1) on an HTC One X (evita)
I doubt it. Just like the HTC people app, calendar, and other HTC based apps....you need the sense framework. I could be wrong, but I have done research, and without HTC sense framework you cannot properly run HTC apps
