Hi there!
I am italian, so please forgive my bad english
I've bought a samsung omnia w (gt i8350) with wp7 mango. I've unlocked the phone with interop unlock.
How can i change the macaddress from it?
I've also found the registry key of it (hklm\software\samsung\wifi\macaddress).
But when i will save a new key with a registry editor from touchexerience.com the message appears "unable to change"
Is there any possibility to solve this problem?
I would be glade about it.

This registry entry is most probably locked with the abstraction layer, hooked directly to the L2 of the device. Hence, cannot be changed manually.
Spoofing a mac is a different idea which requires tinkering with abstraction layer or communication stack itself, and might not be possible with just the registry entry change.
So is there already a method which allows to change it?

Is their a Registry or other Automated way to do it aswell?
Hello All,
We want to set the Signature to something else with an automated script. So the solution provided is for a single user just fine. We need something to chang the 'deafault' signature to something else or just dis-able it.
Is their a way? Perhaps trough provisioning a XML file?

Hello xda-developers
I'd like to know if there's a common registry editor (or method) which gives full access on all Windows Phone 7 devices (HTC, Samsung, LG, ...)? It really would help me with my tutorial (which is already on in the development section - just needs some improvement)
If there's no tool which can do it, please tell me which phone model you have and which registry editor you tried and like
I'd really appreciate your help Thanks in advance!
I think there are registry editors for WP7, but they only work on developer or unlocked phones. Normal marketplace certified apps aren't allowed to manipulate registry in that way.
By the way: how does this unofficial registry editor work? Usage of private API involved?
Yes, it's homebrew and not allowed on the marketplace. And I guess the unofficial registry editors work with those private API's.
Well, still searching for a good method to edit registry on all devices By the way: Does someone know a good registry editor for HTC devices?
hello,
btw, is there a reg editor for HD7 that will give access to the 'access restricted', so as to be able to do some of the recomendations? It seems everyone is seeking a solution, but I didn't see any real answer or programs out there to do...
just that hb for the samsung...
hope someone has an answer soon..
thanks
Well, I'm not into registry editors for HTC devices, but maybe someone can help you By the way, it's important to tell us what version of WP7 you use (7004, 7008 or higher..)
Thanks
Hi dear,
I have a problem to install the registry editor via Application Deployment.
I just registered as a developer yesterday and registered my phone today so it's unlocked.
But when I tried to deploy that file, it shows
Error - 0x081030120
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I was about to add my first language to my phone
Please let me know how to solve this or how to add my own language!
Oh I'm currently using 7720 not the beta 2 for developers.
You can not side load without doing a registry change first when you get to Mango and how you do this depends on your phone (HTC, Samsung, etc). But even then the side loaded registry editor will not even run anyway. If you have an HTC you have to use the provxml method (search the forums). If you have an Samsung or other device you will have to search (I have an HTC so am familiar with it). But, again, there is no third party registry editor that runs right now on Mango that can directly change the registry.
registry editor can only be used before 7661. Maybe you have to re-brush machine
In the 7392 version of Prison Break
for example(chinese),Run the registry, enter [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ MUI \ available], you can see has 2 language files, according to the above format, a new value (item): 0804 writing the first column, second column write: Chinese (Simplified) ,
you can enter you need language code
Will the registry change be remained after updatin to mango
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
As for the subject..
Situation: My phone is Mozart (Singapore version 728)
i run the regedit on the version 7392 on the phone.
And i enter the key:040C(french).. then update to version 7403-7712
but the display language French didn't appear in the display Lan option..
i've tried for several time.. but failed all the time.
Then i doubt that is about the restriction of the operator.
But i can add the Lan"Greece" .-0408...so ..
Is there anyone can help me go through this problem?
I don't know if I understand correctly - you want to have French on the phone? French is native in the system without changing the registry, so what language you want ?
So I looked for the table: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms776294.aspx and seems to value registry 040C is not supported by Microsoft for French is 080C.
well man ... tks for your info..
080C....
And the sys language is US English...
so that i must modify the value myself..
Hello All,
I'm a noob here so please don't shout at me if this has already been answered.
I have a chinese double DIN sat-nav, DVD, bluetooth, etc unit made by STT-TEC. I put a
file PNADesktop.exe on my SDMMC card and I can get to the Control Panel, which is all
in Chinese. I try to change the language in the regional and language settings window but
it just returns to default. I have been reading about the registry being in permanent memory,
and some mention of a hive registry, which I don't understand Please can you tell me if
it's possible to make this change permanently, either by writing to the registry somehow, or
a script which runs at start-up ? Or something? Thanks for your paitience,
Dave.
