[Q] Trophy ROM for Mazaa? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I am an HTC Mazaa owner and want to know if theres a way to install HTC Trophy ROM on my Mazaa device. Since apperently Mazaa is same in everything to Trophy, so I guess no extra drivers will be needed.
I am very new to all this. So please tell me if theres a chance for installing Trophy ROM on Mazaa, if yes, how.
Thank you.

Please reply people

CPU is different
I think CPU and some chip is diffrent so It is not possible

The answer is no. The HTC Mazaa may share the same shell with the HTC Trophy, but the internals are different.

Is there any other way to install the latest ROM?
OR atleast tell me how to do interop unlock on my Mazaa.

The HTC Interop-Unlock app should work on the Mazaa, unless it has a specific block on the Connection Setup app or its firmware version is too high.

HTC interop-unlock is not working on my Mazaa that has mango. Please help.

... Did you read the info on what is required for the app to work? What's your firmware version number? Prior to Mango, were you able to use provxml apps?

I feel your pain, I have interop unlocked my Trophy twice but with this latest firmware it's impossible. We will have to wait for a custom ROM.

Verizon Trophy is now supported in V3 of DFT's HSPL unlock. I have written a HOWTO guide for Verizon Trophy.
Mazaa, I somehow doubt if DFT is working to support, but you'd need to contact them and ask. They can only work on phones they can get their hands on, and they may not be able to get a Mazaa.
It seems that Mazaa has one stock rom available (i have no way of verifying if this rom works), but it is for Mango. I do not know if this phone shipped with NoDo or if you can find a stock NoDo from for it (perhaps try private messaging Football to see if he has a connection that can get roms for this phone??).
Verizon Trophy can be downgraded to NoDo using the same rom listed in my HSPL guide (it is the only NoDo rom that isn't a store demo).

Hi,
I uploaded the stock mango rom. It works.
I personally don't know anyone with a stock nodo rom for the mazaa.
Connection setup should exit with "no database found" or something like that. Yes, very lame.
On the whole, there's no way to interop-unlock the mazaa yet.
Interestingly, if you register the phone's serial on the htc website, it registers as a SPARK_W, which is the same as the verizon trophy. I haven't tried using hspl v3 to unlock it, so update us if you get anywhere.
but if you do screw up, then just use the stock rom above. ;-)

I am ready to try HSPL V3 but I can't enter the phone's SPL mode. The Volume Down + Power On is not working for me. Can someone guide me on how I can use HSPL V3 on Maaza.

Please reply.

reply please.

This is something I really miss from my HTC Diamond. I was wondering if someone is working on it, or if someone has something working and I just haven't heard about it. Enlighten us here.
[Sprint HTC Arrive]
Would love to have it as well
Sprint Arrive here as well
Only if you have a .dev or dreamspark account that will allow you to sideload xaps. It is possible that ansar or another GoldC rom creator could add the cert from another party that would then allow interop unlock from Heathcliff. I don't believe there's any other possibility at this point.
The GoldC unlock isn't taking any priority & last I heard DFT doesn't even have one to work on. However, it does appear that many are looking for what would result in an across the board unlock/root method.
ive got dreamspark. is there a guide or a package to sideload that you can point me to?

I may have been wrong, it is not on the list:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1280623
However, I assumed this guide would work & thought I read someone with an Arrive had it running:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233612
Another Link which states HTC devices:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238519
Please let us know if it works for you.
Maybe someone can chime in if Im wrong but I think we're f#cked for the time being.
To have the official ICS in mango you have to edit the registry and have the HTC driver. (I believe after alot of reading that the HTC driver is in the update after mango)
But if you install that HTC update you are interop locked (heathcliff posted that)
If you're interop locked you cant edit the registry to get ICS working
So the only hope is ansar's new dfrouter app
i asked him specifically if it works on a cdma device because even though I got the HTC android drivers to install and recognize the arrive, the modem would not connect (it just appears to dial out) Ofcourse that was with dfrouter and not ansars new app but he verified what I thought that the difference between the gprs and cdma radios is why it doesnt work.
I just want to tether wifi tethering would be nice but any kind of tethering would make me happy.
Also someone posted on ppcgeeks that when they called sprint about hotspot tethering they said it would not be a supported feature on the phone, so sprint is out and its up to xda
So as far as I can see 1 of 2 things need to happen
Heathcliff figures out how to interop HTC devices after the HTC update
Ansar gets his app working on cdma devices
That sounds right. Except I thought if you're dev/dreamspark unlocked you can sideload xaps that will allow you to interop unlock, load root tools, add the prov xml(s) or reg keys & voila, USB ics.
I thought to use root tools you needed to be interop unlocked?
I have a dev account and im still on nodo.
I dont have access to a windows 7 pc very often but id try anything to get this working.
---------------------
Unfortunately I was right about root tools but you did give me an idea, I'll pm heathcliff and see what I can come up with
After rereading the 60page thread on the built in ICS it appears the HTC update does not include the needed drivers for the built in ICS
The only known HTC rom to have them is the HTC Mozart 5.01 rom
I'm gonna look at the new sprint demo rom that got uploaded yesterday and see if they're there but I doubt it.
Sooooo I guess we need to wait for someone to package the driver up in a xap or something
Without the driver it will show up in settings but wont connect
I'm glad you checked jaygriggs. I read that the Arrive driver was an issue but thought that the mango update resolved it. Thanks for clarifying that issue as unresolved.
Someone on this arrive forum found & posted a modem driver that was supposedly compatible with the arrive @ one point. I will post the link when I find it...
...Ha! you posted the driver:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014234&page=2
And those drivers work
The arrive will be recognized by the pc
for use with the dfrouter app
I could get it to dial out but it would never connect, I assume because there is a difference between the gprs and cdma radio.
The issue now is for official ICS
we need a HTC driver for the phone
If it were only a driver for the pc i'd have it done for us
The driver is out for the mozart whether we need a cdma driver or not remains to be seen, as soon as they put the driver in a xap or something I will be working on it.
Sweet I'll be keeping an eye out.
tether
Alright I'm not 100% this will work but I believe it will and I'll be testing hopefully this weekend or early part of next week.
My device is Sprint arrive on Nodo dev unlocked
1 Ill put on max unsigned apps xap
2 Ill put on the proxy app (for interop unlock)
3 Ill install ansars usbmode switching app
4 Ill install ansars U2M7720
5 Ill upgrade to mango following this thread to maintain interop unlock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281597
6 I'll add the HTC update via ansar's offline installer (to maintain interop unlock)
7 I'll add the drivers to the PC that I worked on that is documented in the other internet sharing thread
Then it should work
Ansar states here that his updated app works on cdma devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271265
If anyone tries this before me please post your experience
We are definitely screwed at the moment we need HTC connection setup
to maintain interop unlock and that program is off the marketplace until further notice
You cannot sideload it because it checks the signature
Thanks to GoodDaytoDie for the tip

[Q] Howto update 7392 (unlocked) to latest mango + keep unlocked?

this was totally fail interpret..
As far as HTC devices staying or having a way to stay unlocked during the process is not clearly figured out yet. Petbebe has a procedure but it has failed to work for me and a few others. Check here...

It didnt work for me too : Connection Setup didnt launch anymore after the 7720 Update so the phone stay locked ....
But i use Xaploader from Ansar : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18280255#post18280255 who will install Connection Setup 1.0 as a purchased app ... then the final update can be unlock
DFT rom
The only way I could get to mango and have my HTC surround stay unlock was by using the hspl/rspl then the DFT rom for it, I tried several times to do it through the legit upgrade path with the guides etc and it did not work, I could not even get as far as nodo with an unlock

[Q] Help reverting to original rom

Hi people,
I've tried searching for an answer to my problem but had no luck...
I'm new to wp7. I've just bought a htc mozart on the internet and after receiving it I realized it was originally a telstra (au) model but it is now running Mango 7714.WM7_Main(DFT). I knew nothing about wp7 roms or jailbreak. I realize now this is a custom unbranded mango rom. I wanna revert to the original telstra rom and then update officially to the carrier's mango. I've searched and found this thread with branded roms for the mozart: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827
I use mac and not pc. Is it safe to install a branded nodo rom on my mango DFT mozart? If so, how do I do this on my mac? Can I unlock my mozart later with no problems?
anyone there?
It's safe to do so, yes. However, the flashing tool is written or Windows. You can borrow a friend's Windows system to do it, install Windows on your Mac (directly or in a VM), or try using wine (Win32 compatibility software for POSIX systems, including OS X) to run the flashing tool. I don't know which of these is easiest; it's probably not Wine but that's the only one that doesn't require somebody having a copy of Windows (Wine is free and open-source; http://winehq.org).
As for "unlock" that really depends what you mean.
If you want to developer-unlock it, using an AppHub account or ChevronWP7 Labs, yes you can.
If it's SIM-locked and you need to SIM-unlock it, that should also be possible; talk to your mobile operator.
If you want interop-unlock (install and run high-privilege apps in Mango) then no, using the official upgrade will make that (currently) impossible. We're working on an interop-unlock (so-named because it makes it possible to install and run XAPs with ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES) for HTC phones that are already on Mango and/or have received the official update, but so far no such luck.
If you want to use the unlocked bootloader to possibly install a custom ROM in the future, be careful - the official Mango update modifies the bootloader in such a way that HSPL (required for custom ROMs) can't be used. Again, people are working on fixing this or providing a way to downgrade, but it's unclear whether this is possible at present without physically opening up the phone.

[Q] Problem - Unlocking HTC HD7 after updating to Mango 7.10.7720.68

Hello xdaDevelopers
i am new here, and already read some of the forums or threads related to my problem but still i can get the right answer that i wanted...
my phone is an HTC HD7 form t-mobile and recently i update it with zune, so now it has accure acquired the new mango FW, after that i want to unlock my phone so i can deploy .xap files and my projects..
i have tried the chevronWP7 but it doesn't work, i gives me an error that i should connect my device in a USB and recognized it by zune, but those things i already have done and still no progress..
i also register my phone to XAP HUB but i cant affored that $99 fee on signing.. thats stupid.. that thing should be free..
can you give me any recommendations that i should do in order to unlock this device in order for me to deploy programs...
thank you
xdaDevelopers RuleZ
Chevron unlock methods only work on OS version 7004 and 7008. Flash it to factory ROM, unlock it and use provxml method to retain unlock in mango and then update to mango.
Or you could use a DFT mango custom ROM.
Follow the instructions to install the Rom in a correct way.
If you have problems to connect your phone with the software
you maybe forgot to install all the drivers and software that is needed.
Do you see in the Bootloader "Serial" or "USB" ???

Windows Phone 7 Downgrade Help

hey everyone, i recently sent heathcliffe a message regarding downgrading my HTC. i now need your help... i sent him this message, and discovered that its not possible using cab sender....:
"ive been following your posts for a while now, wathching out for a new post in the interop unlock section,
i have a htc mozart on o2 in the UK, and it has all of the recent updates including the newest 8107.
i was wondering, using your cab sending thread, and the dudes cab sender. bearing in mind i have a chevron unlocked phone and i want to interop using your .xap in your official thread for interop
in my mind this makes sense, however im hesitant as to whether these will work together, and whether, because im on o2 and the last package is just for Europe, im wondering if it will work.
thanks
and p.s im new to all this, just come over to windows phone from symbian and its all completely different, so excuse my noobness
cheers buddy"
with the reply of:
"What you want will not work for multiple reasons.
1. With cab-sender method you can only upgrade, not downgrade.
2. The OS cabs must have the same end version (you selected OS version 7.0.7008 and language pack 7.0.7403)
The only way to downgrade is by fladhing a complete old rom, but you will loose your apps and data. If you go that way, you may also choose to use rspl/hspl (hacked bootloader) and flash a custom rom that is already unlocked.
Good luck!
Heathcliff74"
so.
my question is,
where do i get a complete old rom.
and will this dwngrade my drivers so i can full unlock using deepshining rom etc...
thanks for all your wonderful answers -_-
