Sorry to ask but where to start?

Hi all,
I have just got a TD2 and must agree it is a very good device.
I have tried searching and looking through these forums for the posts but I am unable to locate them. I dont want to be spoon fed so if someone can point me to the post on flashing the device with a custom ROM it would be appriciated.
I know its a noob question but I have been looking for 3 days now, Dont worry im not flashing anything till I have read up hence why I havent just had a go without finding all the right info.
SO take this post as "Im a noob, where do I start" but I will do the reading etc myself just need a point in the right direction!

[Q] Confused about how to update to Gingerbread....

Okay please forgive me in advance for this post. I am not sure if I am posting it in the right place or not. I am new to this whole forum thing...other than reading them...great help by the way!
Anyways, I have the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I rooted it earlier so I could remove annoying preinstalled apps. And I did the Fota fix. I am really interested in updating to Gingerbread, but I am confused regarding how. Is there anywhere on here that has step by step directions?? Are the leaks any good? Is there another rom that would be better? And if there is how do i go about putting the Rom on my phone.
Like I said, I know how to root, but my knowledge stops there. lol So sorry to be an annoyance with all the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Ok iv looked all over xda and iv only found how tos on this for specific phones i just want to know the basics that can apply to every phone if u dnt mind u can go into detail but you dnt have to if u do when im done learning i plan on creating a thread explaining it in a simplified way and i will be glad to give u honorable mention if your helpful to me i am really interested and would like to know anything i can about this pls help

Hi just registered in the forum and I would really appreciate anybody that answers me...
Recently buyed a Smartphone .Ok sorry he don't look like a STAR C9000.
He looks like the HTC Desire S (My bad) --'
My question and doubt is: How and what (Odin, Clockwork etc...) should i use to flash it and use a ROM for it? (A picture of Froyo Mod that is in it took me here)
If you guys have any tutorial explaining how to do it can you lend me a hand?

i have an problem with Paranoidandroid....
this is the first rom i installed so im not experienced...
after Installing PARANOIDANDROID [CM9HYBRID] [20120625 1.5b: BFixes, Panel, Trebuchet] on my galaxy nexus...
everything was rly nice i love the rom! installed my apps and configurated the design... NICE!
one day later i tryed to call somebody and following msg showed up:
leider wurde der prozess com.android.phone beendet.
com.android.phone is canceld....
and nothing more so i cant recive calls or call somebody...
i dont know why... i re installed it and after 1 day the same problem...
anybody can help me please? i cant fix it...

I would suggest posting in the thread of the ROM in question.

Haha, true...forgot about that. Well, hopefully someone sees your thread here. You could also try posting it in the Q&A section of your device forum.
