So get it out of whichever ROM you flashed. Is that so hard?
just open the zip, get the vending.apk, and push it to /system/app.

Im not too sure what is causing this problem to your phone.
But maybe you can try this wallpaper setting app from tne market called: wallpaper wizardrii.
Hope this helps
Sounds like an odd issue but I empathise with you. Can you try clearing the cache from your market to see if you can reinstall the app? Let us know the outcome.

No you don't.
Just take the apk from your original ROM. It is called TwWallpaperChooser.apk.
Paste it into system/app and reboot.
If you are on an odexed ROM, you will need to copy TwWallpaperChooser.odex also.

oh thank you very much!
OK, found it.
Download this zip and extract the two files inside. Copy them on to your SD card and then using Root Explorer, or whichever file explorer you use with root permissions, go into system/app and if they are there, delete TwWallpaperChooser.apk and TwWallpaperChooser.odex.
Then paste the two files on your SD card into system/app. Before you reboot, you will need to change the file permissions for both of the files. To do this in Root Explorer, long press on each file and select 'permissions'. Then you want to select the boxes as shown below (1 = tick and 0 = no tick).
110
100
100
Then press OK.
Then reboot.
thank you very much...i tried but nothing the issue remains...so tomorrow i'll flash the new KL7 rom and i'll see if i'll solve it(i think so).
Thank you,you have been very kind!
Can someone post the HTCLinkifyDispacher.Odex for me. i deleted the APK and the Odex and now my links wont click.
I think you only delete the APK not the Odex.
Thanks.
I could use the APK and ODEX if you find it, I can't find my backups and was wondering why my links don't work!

If some of us who are happy with our phones and would rather not take the update is there a way to do that. I remember I changed a build prop but I am unsure if that still works. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. Thanks Pete.
If you are on GB and are rooted you can use titanium back up to freeze "updater" and you will no longer get the annoying messages. Not sure for KK.
I am on kk...rooted / unlocked and I don't see "updater" in titanium back up...maybe its labeled differently?
3c_ota.apk on KK.
Isn't it a bad idea to block this OTA since it has some security fixes?

Could you explain exactly how to go about freezing this? Usually when I freeze an app in Titanium Backup, I look at the list of apps in Backup/Restore, click on the one I want, and then freeze it. But this app is not in the list - also, the list doesn't contain .apk files.
Someone said to rename the .apk file, but if it's already installed, how's that going to help?
Thanks.

If on JB the system/app has update or ota in the name. On KK system/priv-app has ota in the name. Change the .apk to .bak then reboot.

Thanks, done. But how does renaming the APK file help? Isn't an APK the uninstalled version? Wouldn't I have to disable the installed version somehow?

No, all sys apps install on boot, if not present no install. There is no uninstall.

it doesnt matter, once the updates stop, the update app wont be changed because you never get an update.

Not sure if the system checksum will fail on the renamed apk. But you may have to fix it before you take L if it comes. That is if you manually flash L it may fail due to the wrong name. Then of course if you do not fix the file you will never get L automatically.

Sorry I was talking to you like you were a 3rd party lol. Thank you for the information. So your saying if I ever manually flash L or L comes to this phone as an ota I will need to fix the apk? Basically I either fix the apk or the phone stays as is? I appreciate your time thanks Pete.

for example,take someone ready мод.zip and opening through winrar to put your
mod.zip-open with winrar (the system folder has another folder there and put up your files
(not extract, just open arhive )
and in mod.zip\META-INF\com\google\android\ file updater-script to change for example the rows that show the process
Code:
ui_print(" ");
ui_print(" ");
ui_print("--> mod name");
ui_print("--> for Stock ROMs");
ui_print("--> based on N5 - LRX21O");
ui_print(" ");
ui_print(" ");
ui_print("--> by cipjanin;57128017");
ui_print(" ");
ui_print(" ");
the rest can not be touched,but you can fix if you want for myself ...
Huh? Google Play should reinstall everything for you.
Or use Titanium Backup.
