Just look at the firmware numbers, i think the latest build is 1.50.401.1 for Europe for regular Sensation.
When your looking for Sensation XE roms you'll need the "RUU_Pyramid_LE" roms, LE stands for limited edition.
1.50.401.1 comes with 2.3.4 and Sense 3.0 and works fine with me.

hi everyone i have a wildfire atm and getting a sensation in the next few days and wanted to know a few things. i will be rooting and s off (already done this to my wildfire) butwhat i wanted to know is what is the most popular rom, atm im using cm7 latest stable on my wildfire (cant find it for the sensation) and i like it.
There are loads of sense 3.0 n 3.5 Rom they are all different in there own ways best to try a few there is 2 miui roms that I'm aware of and there also is 1/2 aosp Rom there is no cm as google not released source so waiting for source but 4.0 will prob be out shortly so up to u to decided buddy
Cm7 beta is on Sensation
No phone has proper ICS roms atm.
Apart from some SDK ports but none for Sensation.
I just got my sensation as well. S-OFF was petty easy.
I am using HD Evolution 3.6.3 and It's petty stable and fast. I just downloaded some fixes for the 4G and APM from here = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18245560&postcount=23227
Hope my post is useful.
Don't worry about S-Off or unlocking the bootloader on the Sensation. HTCdev.com has that covered for you (I'm sure you knew that).
As far as ROMs go, I currently flashed the stock ROM back, and that's what I'm using... for now.
i didnt know that my friend thanks for pointing that out to me whats next apple giving you the software to jailbreak your phone/pad .
I wouldn't use the official HTC method. Use Revolutionary. CM7 is in Alpha right now, but it's pretty stable and good enough for daily use.

Should be located in the development subsection under HTC Sensation.
If you wanna give Sense a spin, and want stability, I'd recommend trying out Pyramid 3D.

Hi,
I have a dubious question. It might be something stupid but I can't see to make sense of it myself. Anyways. I see a list of RUU for sensation/pyramid and the highest it goes for Europe is 1.45.401.3
But when I check my phone it says the current version is 2.08.401.1, how come my version shown is much higher than the latest posted here? Is mine the highest available already?
Thanks
Do you have the Sensation XE?
Edit: My bad, that's completely irrelevant.
Mine is xe and I'm on 1.73.401

Okay, here we go.. i recently bought my Sensation XE and am very pleased with the phone.
But there are som changes i would really love..
And here is my question: What ROM should i use?
I have been looking around alot and i am honestly very confused by all the different posts and statements of people so i decided to make my own post instead.
My phone is rooted and i have ClockworkMod Recovery. That's as far as i have come. What now?
Here are some of my specs from my HBOOT screen (i think it is the HBOOT) in case it can be of any use:
-Revolutionary-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.1111
RADIO-10.14.9035.02_2
eMMC-boot
Jun 2 2011,22:31:39
I would like to test out a new ROM.
Does my Radio have to be updated ?
I have read alot about this CyanogenMod but have no clue as to which version to go for.
CM 7.2 RC1? (Edit: Hmm, Seems that this hasn't been released yet? or?)
CM 7.1 RC3? (Edit: Hmm, Is this the one i should go for? in case it is. can i have a direct download link since I don't have a clue)
or even another ROM. no clue.. help?
In advance, Thanks alot to everyone who will drop their 2 cents.
Edit: This "RUU" - Like this: "RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.2_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_215830_signed.exe 385.11 MB 2 months ago"
Is that the original ROM from the carriers? or what? geez.. this is a jungle :I
If you are sense lover then use energy sense3.5 or elangsia rom

First of all, welcome to the sensation forums!!!
This device will not disappoint you :]
In these forums you'll find 100s of great developers who are willing to help you in any way they can
Now my recommendations for a rom would be the Virtuous 3.0.0 rom. This is basically a rom that is stripped out of the sense interface and replaced with a really great AOSP feel. This rom is exceedingly fast and as far as I can tell, has no bugs whatsoever. Another reason why I love this rom is because of the amount of free ram that I have...First I received my sensation and it only had 100mb ram free, with nothing open. But in this rom you get over 300mb of free ram that you can decide what to do with!!!
Good luck with your new phone.
Have a good day!
Go through the following thread. It will be worth looking.

One thing that you need to learn is to make suer you get the right ROM for your phone. You can't just download any ROm and put it on your phone. Not even a ROM that is available for your phone. It has to be a ROM that is available for your phone and the version that is made specifically for your phone.
If you are looking at CM 7.2 RC you aren't looking at Sensation ROMs.
Cyanogen never made a release candidate of version 7 for the Sensation. There is an Alpha version of it (meaning it's got bugs and not everything works right) but not a RC, or release candidate.
If you got a CM 7.2 RC and tried to put it on the Sensation it wouldn't work, and could make things very bad.
Now, when CM has a stable build it's awesome. It gives you one of teh most controllable ROM's out there, with access to just about every possible setting you can think of, plus several special features that simply aren't available on a stock ROM.
There is a CyanogenMod 9 in the works now, but there's no release date yet. The main difference is that it's based off the newest version of Android.
Since you're new, just flash gingerbread roms to start with... I know its kinda hard to browse for it because of the ICS roms... You should be able to find those gingerbread roms under the same thread with the ics...

Thanks all for the good answers. It's seems i should try to stick to gingerbread ROM's for now.
So now my question is: If you can advise any other ROM's?
Pro's?
Con's?
There are these two suggestions / Advises so far.

Again, Thanks alot for your time and help. It's very appreaciated.
I use insertcoin 3.4.4... Pretty stable and no problem... One thing, you can't forward mms, it will save it in draft and you can send it from there... I don't send mms that much anyway so it works for me...
Once you get use to flashing roms, youll be fine flashing ics roms... Just a bit difference because of the firmware ...
You're welcome... Be careful and read every detail.... Always match the md5 sum or sha1 sum for the files, if given... You'll be able to.find md5 checker a lot in the web for free

If you want CM7 (in other words, stock Android Gingerbread plus CM improvements) go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258543
If you want CM9 (stock Android Ice Cream Sandwich plus CM improvements) first read the guide to enjoying ICS the guy posted above, then go to the site RootzWiki and in the Sensation section you'll find a pretty good build of CM9.
firstly LOL at your HUUUGE banner ^^
Secondly, Why not mention Insertcoin or sense-a-maniac with android 4.0.3? I used miui for weeks then went back to sense and love it!
Android revolution xe or insertcoin

I really loved HyperSensation (a AOSP/Cyanomod rom) when I was in gingerbread. Now I'm using Android Revolution HD XE 6.2.1 (an ICS rom) plus Rom Cleaner plus shnizlon AOSP ICS theme, stable fast and good looking

Thanks alot for all the advises. I decided to go for cm7. And I really love it. Haven't tried any other though.. only have one problem atm, I can't seem send nor receive mms's . Will have to find a solution or live without it for now. Again, thanks all.
Why don't people advise making sure they get the right RUU before continuing? This should be rule number 1

Moved from a Desire S to Sensation XE.
Now I am not a newbie when it comes to roms etc as I had ICS on my Desire and S-off etc etc.
Was wondering if its beneficial to s-off and install recovery etc?
Or is there an OTA ICS update?
Not switched on yet, still charging out of box.
o2 UK stock.
There is an ICS OTA but it's only for certain countries ATM. Seeing as you're on O2 they might take a little longer to release it with their customizations.
Rooting would be beneficial if you want ICS now IMO.

There's a plenty based on the official release that's rolling out to come countries in XE and non-XE flavours, you can flash either.
Ok, just to update.
Done the following...
1 s-off
2 installed recovery
3 rooted
4 super cid
Can i just go ahead and put roms on the root of sd card now and do same as with desire s ?
if you are planning to flash ICS based rom , you need to flash a proper firmware first

Because HTC haven't released a JB ROM for Sensation and we have not been able to port any from other phones.
so the available roms from which device is extracted ??

If I guess correctly, the answer to your weirdly phrased question is the HTC One S. All the Sense 4 ROMs available now are ported from the HTC One S, since it is quite similar in terms of specs to our Sensation (HTC even used the same SoCs Snapdragon S3 for some One S devices due to shortage of the S4.
